Chapter 16 – Special visit

“Mundias,” I breathed out, almost as shocked as Grayson to see the witch Goddess standing there.

“I hate to intrude on your time, but may I come in to talk to you two?” I shook my head to clear away the confusion and waved my hand.

“Yes, I’m sorry, please come in.” We stepped aside to let her enter and I paused as I started following. “Were you here earlier?”

“Yes, but then I realized you two needed a bit more time, so I walked away. When I heard you talking I came back.”

“But I picked up no scent, how is that possible?” Grayson asked. She sat down on the couch and we followed suit on the opposite side of hers.

“Even though people can mask there smells, there is still a subtle hint that wolves can pick up on; just like if no one wears shoes, vampires can still hear them. But us Gds, we have no scent and we make no sound. The only reason you can hear me, Fire, is because you are Sol’s daughter. Which is one fact what I also wanted to let you know about, you won’t smell, hear or even sense Demonio, because he is a God. That is an important fact to remember when this battle happens.”

“You didn’t come to talk to us about Demonio, though,” Grayson said as he leaned back and laid his arm behind me.

“No, I came to talk about Rayne and Rosemina.”

“I was afraid of that,” I muttered and she smiled.

“No reason to be actually. You are aware that you have unique babies, but it goes beyond just the prophecy. Rayne and Rosemina are all three of us combined, which is both good and bad. For everything to work to its upmost potential they have to be combined.” I shook my head and I could feel the confusion from Grayson as well.

“We don’t understand,” I told her.

“I’ll explain it, but you need to remember it in the back of your mind. You having twins wasn’t a coincidence and it wasn’t a draw of luck, it had to be that way. No one being could possibly handle the power that comes with being three super naturals, but split, that can be handled.”

“Their powers,” Grayson said and I glanced at him, for he seemed to be picking up on what she was saying but I was still clueless.

“Yes. They were giving their gifts, but when solo, it’s limited power but when they are together, they harness the full power of each being. Take Rosemina for example, already showing signs of being your wolf, correct?” Grayson nodded and I was finally beginning to see. “She will have a wolf, as you can see, but she won’t have a strong sense of smell or strength, but she will have speed.”

“Wolves don’t have speed,” I said.

“True, but vampires do. But Rayne, who already takes to blood and is spotting fangs, lacks in the hearing and lacks speed, but he will be strong. This comes from the all of us, a combination of you and the Gods.”

“But what about the witch’s powers?”

“As you have seen Grayson, they have that as well, but only together. Their power from the Earth cannot be drawn up solo, at all. And all of this is because when you two pass on, they will need to lead together. They know they are unique but not why, of course.” I leaned back and shook my head. “What is it Fire?”

“I’ve never heard of a vampire not being able to hear well, or not have the speed.”

“True, it’s not a thing, but then that would be the reason why there’s no cross mating.” I looked at her as lifted a brow, the corner of her lip tugging upward.

“Guess we really are the rule breakers,” Grayson said and I shook my head. It wasn’t like we chose to be that way actually.

“Speaking of mates, what will happen when they get older?”

“Like everything else, it’s all picked and predestined. They will have unique mates as the line moves onward because the ruling class can’t just be one or the other. This war will be, or could be, one of many and all beings needs to stay on a united front, which is why we created this ruling class. At first, many will have a hard time believing and supporting you, but everyone will see the truth.”

“And those that would oppose us?” Mundias looked at Grayson and shrugged.

“I’m sure that those who want nothing to do with you will turn to the many dark sides. Vampires turn cruel and lose their covens; wolves become selfish and lose their packs and witches turn to the dark arts and lose their families. It is never anything we like to see but it’s never something we can stop either.”

“So, will the twins have to go with the same witches we did?” I leaned against Grayson, not liking the thought of them leaving.

“Yes, but so that they can learn how to use their powers. You were both taught a few things, which is helpful but since you weren’t born with it, you can’t harness it, they can. You have already seen what they can do; something like that left untapped would never be pretty. But I don’t think they would have to leave like Grayson and Dylan did. Those witches are mine, but they aren’t Gods, so they can have as much time here as I want to allow. I could send them to live with you when the time is right, that way the kids don’t leave.”

“You don’t know what would happen?” I asked her and she gave me a small smile but I could feel the look from Grayson and I turned to him. “We don’t know their temperaments, not to the level of them leaving and not being able to contain it. So since they don’t know, it’s a risky thing for them to leave which is why she’s willing to send the witches to us,” I told him and he finally nodded.

“It doesn’t need to be repeated, I guess, but I’m going to say it anyway, those two are unique, so very different, even we don’t know what they are like. When we laid this out, many, many years ago, we had no test subjects, for we couldn’t afford for Demonio to figure out what was going on.

“You were right Fire, he doesn’t know about Grayson, or the twins, but it really is a matter of time. I know you weren’t given a lot of information about what is to come or when it will come, but the best thing I can tell you is that the more power and knowledge you gain, puts him that one step closer to the start of this war.”

“You mean when we start figuring out the clues in Sol’s book, it starts a time?” Grayson asked and she nodded. “That would have been nice to know.”

“Why, so you could prolong it?”

“No, so that we could build up the army and the weapons to defend against him and his demons,” he said and she leaned forward, looking at him.

“You are from an Alpha line, Grayson, beyond that you are from the Goddess herself, do you really thing that you and your family need protection from Demonio? That anyone you put in his way would stop him from coming after you? You, Fire and those little ones have that one piece that can stop him from harming you. That stone in your rings and that the babies are wearing were forged from the blood of Demonio and from a rock that we all created and destroyed.

“You are right, your army can stop the demons, you are on the right track for that, but you also better use every last thing you have realized about those demons. You have had enough of them for you to see. That book will give some answers, and you are doing well to unlock them, but you will also have to rely on your skill and knowledge, and for that, neither one of you can forget that you come from Gods!”
