The Mystical White Wolf

Chapter TWENTYTHREE-ALPHA MEETING

Two Weeks Later:

Staci POV

Today was my two-week checkup for our pup. It was the beginning of July, and the days were hot. Things have been quiet regarding rogue attacks or anything concerning the vampire.

As Antonio and I stepped off the elevator and walked toward the Pack Hospital, I graciously rubbed my bump, which had started showing recently. Antonio looked over at me and smiled.

My morning sickness had improved, and my training had progressed. As we walked up to the nurse's station, one of the nurses checked us in and showed us to a room around the back. I quickly changed into a gown as Antonio stood at the side, and I lay on the bed. A few minutes later, Dr. Scott walked into the room.

"Alpha, Luna," he said and bowed.

"Hello, Dr. Scott," I greeted the doctor as Antonio nodded at him.

"Let's begin the exam, and then we can check on our future Alpha," the doctor said.

The doctor proceeded with his exam, and my mate watched with interest.

"Growing fast, I see," the doctor mentioned, and I nodded. I felt a flutter and gasped.

"You'll feel those in the early stage until the pup progresses farther along than the mighty little kicks come," Dr. Scott said and chuckled.

I giggled as Antonio grabbed my hand and smiled.

"Morning sickness?" the doctor asked.

"Everything has been good. Not as bad as the first two weeks," I told the doctor.

"Excellent. Let's check on the little Alpha, shall we?" he said as he rolled over the sonogram machine.

I watched as he squirted the cold gel on my bump. I shivered a bit as Solaris pranced around in my mind. She was always excited about seeing our pup on the screen and watching the growth.

"Sorry," he said, and I just nodded.

He grabbed the little doppler and moved it against my bump until the image appeared.

"Here we are," Dr. Scott mentioned.

I looked and saw our little pup and smiled. I looked over at my mate and saw a broad smile on his face.

"Very healthy pup," Dr. Scott said, and I looked back at the screen.

Dr. Scott did the measurements and played the heartbeat for us as my eyes glistened with tears. Antonio's breathing pattern seemed to change when he heard our pup's heartbeat, and I could feel his happiness through our bond.

Dr. Scott estimated our pup would be due by late October to early November. Alpha pups usually come at five months to six months. Beta, Gamma, Delta, and omega pups typically take six months, depending on their bloodlines.

"When will we be able to find out the sex of the pup?" I asked.

"In about another two weeks. Three at most," Dr. Scott said, taking pictures of the pup for us.

I nodded as the doctor handed me a towel to wipe off my belly while he cleaned his workstation. My gut told me Antonio and I were having a boy. Solaris snorted inside my head as I wanted to ask her what the pup would be, but she always dodged answering the question, so I just gave up.

"See you back in two weeks," Dr. Scott said as he quietly left the room.

After I cleaned up and put on my beige sundress, Antonio and I made our way out of the room and toward the nurse's station to set up my next appointment.

"Congratulations, Alpha and Luna, on the new addition," all the nurses at the station clapped.

"Thank you," I blushed as Antonio smiled and thanked the nurses.

Antonio and I left the hospital to head toward the front of the castle to meet our friends. This year, it was going to be a busy day. Blue Eclipse was hosting the annual Alpha meeting.

I was excited because my Father, Mother, and brother were coming. I kept in touch with my family weekly. My parents traded in my Mustang for a brand-new, all-black 2024 Kia Telluride a few weeks ago. My parents said it was a present for the baby and my accomplishments. Seth even got a new car.

"So, how many packs are we expecting?" I asked Antonio as the elevator took us down to the first floor.

"Four," Antonio said.

"Crescent Moon, Dark Moon, Midnight Moon, and Redwood."

"River Valley would've made it five, but when their pack was destroyed years ago. We took the few survivors in, rescaled the land, and combined it with Blue Eclipse," Antonio said as my eyes widened.

"So that's why some businesses and shopping centers have Valley in their names?" I asked as Antonio nodded.

"Interesting," I said as we exited the elevator and joined our friends outside.

"Hey guys," Antonio and I greeted our friends.

"Hey. How was the appointment?" Monica asked as we hugged, and Marcie was the next one to hug me.

"It was good. This pup is growing like a weed," I chuckled as the girls joined.

"I have some news to share with you later," Monica whispered as the first two SUVs approached the castle.

I squealed excitedly as the Crescent Moon red flags blew in the wind. My parents stepped out first, followed by my brother. Monica's Dad, the Delta, was in the SUV behind my parents as she went down the steps to hug him.

"Staci!" my Mother squealed with my Father behind her.

I hugged my parents as my Dad had tears glistening in his eyes. I had missed seeing my parents' faces, but I was between training and the new pup. I haven't had the time to visit my old pack.

"Can I get my big brother hug now," Seth grumbled.

Seth and I fought like cats and dogs growing up, but we loved each other. Seth always included me in his antics. Whether it's giving our parents headaches or playing in the forest behind the pack house.

I let go of my parents as my brother walked up and embraced me warmly. I heard Antonio growl and looked back at him with a smile.

"Woah! half-pint. Your belly grew," Seth teased as I punched his arm.

Mom glared at him as our Dad smacked the back of his head, making me giggle.

My parents and brother spoke to Antonio and our friends. I told them to head inside and have some refreshments as two more SUVs came down the driveway.

"Alright, Solaris. Let's show them what we are made of," I said, smiling as the SUVs stopped.

Antonio POV

I saw the black flags blowing in the wind as two SUVs stopped before the castle. Dark Moon was our closest ally, and Miles had been my friend for years. I was a year older than him, but we completed Alpha training together.

Alpha Miles and his Beta Mason exited their SUV and walked up the steps. I saw their eyes focus on Staci. By the way, their eyes widened, I assumed they could feel her immense aura.

"Alpha Miles and Beta Mason."

"Welcome to the Blue Eclipse pack," I said, shaking their hands.

"Alpha Antonio," Miles said and cleared his throat.

"Your Luna is uh," Miles started to say and quickly closed his mouth.

Miles and Mason greeted Staci quickly and headed inside the castle, making me chuckle.

"What was that about?" Staci asked me as I shrugged.

I heard gravel crunching in the distance and saw two SUVs coming down the driveway. The purple flags for the Midnight Moon pack blew in the wind. For a hot day, it was nice to have a bit of breeze come through to cool us down. Werewolves tend to have hot body temperatures.

Alpha Drake and his Beta Nathan exited their SUV and walked up the steps toward us. Like Miles and Mason, Drake and Nathan's eyes focused on Staci. I growled, making them avert their gazes as Drake looked at me.

"Excuse me, Alpha Antonio, but your Luna has quite the aura surrounding her," Drake says.

"I'm well aware," I state and shake their hands.

Drake and his Beta head inside the castle as more SUVs come down the driveway. Staci stays close to me as her scent keeps Ares calm. I lean over and kiss her temple as she leans into my touch.

Bright orange flags blow in the wind as the Redwood pack stops before the castle. Alpha Wayne and Beta Henry exit their SUV and walk toward us. Henry's eyes linger on Staci while he licks his lips, making me growl as he adverts his gaze.

"Henry Lopez!" Wayne addresses his Beta and apologizes for his Beta as we shake hands.

"Apologizes Alpha Antonio."

"My Beta hasn't found his mate yet," Wayne silently growls at his Beta for his disrespect.

I knew they could feel her aura as Wayne looked at Staci and then at me and smiled. Wayne is my Father's age, and his son is two years younger than me.

Once Wayne and Henry headed inside the castle, I was getting ready to bring Staci inside when Liam mentioned another set of SUVs had entered the territory.

"What the hell?" I whispered as Staci stopped and looked at me.

"What's the matter?" Staci asked and held my hand.

"We have more visitors," I said.

I quickly linked Carter and Juliano that we had some unexpected guests and to check the meeting list to see who we missed. Two sleek black SUVs with red blood flags blowing in the wind came down the driveway.

Staci stood firm beside me as Ares growled inside my head. I wouldn't say I liked this, and I wanted to know who had unannouncedly invited themselves inside my pack.

"Everyone on the list is accounted for," Carter linked.

"Who the fuck did we miss?" Juliano asked.

As I was linking the guys. The SUVs stopped before the castle as a young man about 6'2, with short dark brown hair and blue eyes, stepped out of the SUV.

"Find out who we missed, ASAP," I linked back and tried to figure out who this young wolf was.

Another man stepped out of the SUV. He was about 6'1, with sandy blonde hair and light blue eyes. Their eyes focused on Staci, making me growl as Juliano stepped out of the castle to protect his Luna.

"Alpha Antonio," the young wolf said, standing before me with the other man behind him.

"Who are you?" I asked, trying to read his Alpha aura but couldn't find it.

"Alpha Conrad, and this is my Beta Justin," the young wolf said.

I quickly linked Carter to check for an Alpha Conrad and Beta Justin.

"What pack do you hail from?" I asked, wanting to know who this imbecile was.

"Blood Moon pack," the young Alpha said.

I sent Carter a link about a Blood Moon pack. Carter quickly replied that the pack wasn't listed or an Alpha Conrad had been mentioned.

"Must be a new pack then, but his aura seems off," I linked Carter as Juliano stared at the two men.

"Welcome to the Blue Eclipse pack. Please come inside and make yourselves at home," Staci said.

I sent a look to Staci as she glanced back at me. Her look told me I should be nice and see what this young wolf was about. Ares and my gut interpreted trouble. The young Alpha and his Beta headed inside. I grabbed Staci's hand and turned to head inside the castle.

"Giant!" I heard a sweet voice and turned around.

"Rosebud?" my cousin ran up to me and tried to bear hug me.

I let out a hearty laugh. I haven't seen Rose since her graduation last year, when she grew into a beautiful young woman. Rose was 19 and the cousin of my Aunt Alicia on her Father's sister's side.

"My little cousin Rosebud," she scowled at me and slapped my arm.

"I hate that nickname!" she said, making me chuckle.

Rose was about 5'6 with long brunette hair, blue eyes, and olive-toned skin. Rose's Father was half-American and half-French. The blue eyes were a Payne family trait, but Rose inherited her Father's unique features.

"My love, this is my cousin Rose. She's Aunt Alicia's cousin," I told her as Staci shook her hand.

"Oh! Is this your Luna?" Rose asked, and I nodded.

"It's about damn time! Welcome to the family, Staci," I smiled.

"Is that the only family you greet, young man?" I heard a sweet voice and looked back to see my Uncle and Aunt.

"Uncle Ric and Aunt Ali," my smile widened.

"What are you two doing here?" I asked my Aunt and Uncle.

"We came for a visit, and Rose wanted to come home for a while," my Aunt said.

"Well, you know you are always welcome. This is your home, too," I smiled at them.

I hugged my Aunt and Uncle, and then they hugged Staci as we all started walking toward the castle's entrance.

"Congratulations. I can see the glow from here," Aunt Alicia said, placing her hand on Staci's belly.

"You wasted no time, huh, nephew," my Uncle said, patting me on the back.

I chuckled as I hugged my Uncle, and we headed inside the castle. Once we entered, the deep growl I heard made my mouth hang open.

Staci POV

As we all walked inside the castle. I heard a deep growl and looked at my brother. His eyes were pitch black, and he was staring straight at us.

"Mine!" my brother Seth said, walking straight toward us.

"Seth, what the?" I started to say as he walked past us and straight to Rose.

"Oh!" I squealed excitedly. My brother had finally found his mate.

I watched as Seth hugged and kissed Rose on the lips. Rose gasped as she held onto Seth and moaned as their lips touched. I had to look away and blush because this was the first time I had seen my brother be intimate with someone. Our parents were beaming and smiling as my brother embraced his mate.

"Mate!" I heard Rose say as Antonio cleared his throat.

"Well, that's something you don't see every day," he said, and I giggled.

I was happy for my brother. He finally had his Luna. After Rose and Seth claimed each other, Alphas and Betas followed us into the larger conference room on the first floor.

I took my seat as Antonio sat at the head of the table; everyone took a seat around the table. I watched as my mate stood.

"Alright, the Alpha meeting has officially begun," my mate boomed in his Alpha tone.

Everyone shouted and voiced their concerns about rogue wolves, vampire attacks, and other boring issues as the meeting progressed. I was bored out of my mind as I listened to everyone complain. Antonio tried to give advice and voice out to the other Alphas about changing their tactics as rogues got more intelligent over time.

I occasionally looked at the young Alpha and Beta from the Blood Moon pack. He would stare at me, and it made me feel uncomfortable. Solaris growled inside my head and bared her canines.

"What's with you?" I asked my wolf as she growled lowly.

"I don't trust him," Solaris said as Antonio cleared his throat and stood up.

"It's time to agree on continuing the pack alliances," Antonio said.

"Also, introduce a new Alpha among us today," Antonio said, gesturing to the Blood Moon packs Alpha.

Before anyone could speak about the alliances, the conference room doors burst open, and a tall man with pale skin, long jet-black hair, and violet-colored eyes entered the room.

King Magnus

"King Magnus," Antonio said and greeted our guest.

"Alpha Antonio," Magnus said as his eyes scanned the room.

Magnus's eyes stopped on the young Alpha and Beta from the Blood Moon pack. The young Alpha shifted in his seat, rested his chin on his right hand, and leaned over to speak to his Beta.

"Sorry for my tardiness, but I had some pressing issues that needed my attention," Magnus said.

"That's fine. We were going to vote for the alliances between the packs," Antonio said.

Magnus's eyes never left the young Alpha's gaze as he shook hands with Antonio and me. Magnus's focus left the young Alpha and focused on me as his eyes widened, and he smiled. His fangs were showing.

"We need to talk privately," Magnus said as he looked at Antonio.

Antonio nodded and focused his attention on the other Alphas and Betas.

"Let's grab lunch and vote when we return to the meeting," Antonio said as the other Alphas and Betas stood.

"Please follow Beta Carter and Gamma Juliano to the garden for lunch and enjoy," Antonio said.

Once everyone exited the room. Magnus sat on the other side of Antonio as his violet eyes focused on me. Antonio growled as Magnus chuckled and slapped his knee.

"Calm down Alpha Antonio."

"Your Luna's aura is remarkable," Magnus said.

"I'm well aware," Antonio stated and held my hand.

"I'm surprised the other Alphas and Betas weren't suffocating in this room with the two of you," Magnus chuckled.

"So, you know what I am?" I asked curiously.

"That you're a white wolf."

"Yes, I know," Magnus says.

"My Father told me stories when I was a boy."

"Although I'm shocked that your goddess created another white wolf," Magnus says and rubs his chin.

"Why is that?" I asked and looked Magnus in the eyes.

"I don't know," Magnus says with a shrug as I huff.

"What did you want to talk about?" Antonio asked Magnus as his violet eyes turned serious.

"That young Alpha that was sitting here moments ago. What do you know about him?" Magnus asked.

"Not much. He seems to be a new Alpha from the Blood Moon pack."

"Blood Moon?" Magnus asks as Antonio shrugs.

"Well, never mind that. His stench reeked of vampires."

"I'm talking about not from my Kingdom kind of scent," Magnus says.

Antonio and I eyes widened as Magnus looked at us and nodded confirming his suspicions. I just recently found out Magnus was the vampire King in the upper North of California called Nyxshire.

"I thought you kept tabs on anyone vampire related that enters the States," Antonio said.

"I do."

"A scout file approached my desk, and I ignored it. Until the recent disappearance of humans arose and I had to investigate the case," Magnus says.

"So, you think that young Alpha might be involved?" Antonio asked.

"That's what my instinct tells me," Magnus says and rubs his temples.

"Well, let's go have a chat with the young Alpha and his Beta," Antonio says and helps me to my feet.

Antonio, Magnus, and I walked out of the conference room and toward the garden area as we heard chatter and some laughter coming from outside. When the warriors opened the patio doors, and we scanned the room. I heard a deep growl.

"Where is the Alpha and Beta of the Blood Moon pack?" Antonio growled as all eyes landed on us.
