Chapter SIXTEEN-GRAYSON SPILLS THE SECRETS
Grayson POV
"Another," I told the bartender as he rolled his eyes and got me another beer.
The bartender set the bottle before me as I grabbed it and chugged it back. He eyed me suspiciously as I growled at him, and he walked away, scoffing and shaking his head.
I was sitting in some dump called Trade Routes. I heard this is where rogues like to hang out and cause mischief. The owner of the bar was some older wolf who went batshit after his mate rejected him for an Alpha.
I finished my beer and started feeling the effects of the alcohol. Gideon was quiet, but that was good for me because I didn't have to hear his constant bitching about Staci.
"Give me another!" I slurred at the bartender.
"You've had enough, and it's time for you to leave," the bartender said.
I growled and grabbed him by the shirt as his eyes widened.
"Listen, you insolent little shit."
"You don't tell me when I've had enough. Now get me another goddess damn beer!" I roared and shoved him back as he hit the far wall.
The bartender looked at me with wide eyes as he picked himself up off the floor and got me another beer. I scoffed at the stupidity of rogues who thought they were better. Hell, I'm a fucking Beta wolf, for moon goddess's sake. They should bow at my feet.
"Trouble in paradise?" a gruff, deep voice spoke as a tall man about 6'3 with short dark brown hair, gray eyes, and a goatee sat on the stool next to me.
He wore a white T-shirt, dark jeans, and a black biker jacket. I may have been buzzed, but he didn't smell like a rogue, and for some reason, his aura was intense, like an Alpha wolf's. The bartender finally returned with my beer as I growled.
He set my beer down and left to attend to the other customers inside the bar.
"Yeah, why do you care," I said, sipping my cold beer.
The man chuckled as I looked at him, and he called the bartender over. He ordered four shots of whiskey and four more beers. I eyed him suspiciously, wondering what the hell he wanted.
"You looked like you needed to talk to someone about your lady issues."
"I'm a good listener," the man said and chuckled.
I sighed and gave in. But first, I wanted more alcohol, so the man ordered us the most potent drink this place had to offer. I finished off a few beers and was now drinking my gin and tonic mix as the buzz hit me like a fucking train.
"I rejected my mate."
"I was the future Beta of the Crescent Moon pack."
"My goddess-given mate was my old Alpha's younger daughter."
I paused and looked at the man to see that he was looking at me intently like my shitty life was very fucking interesting to him. He nodded for me to continue, so I did.
"Why did you reject her?" he asked me as gray eyes stared at me.
"Because I'm not meant to be tied to one woman for the rest of my life."
"I wanted to be free and live how I wanted," I said.
"I can agree with that."
"No wolf, especially someone with your rank and bloodline, should be tied to one she-wolf because a moon bitch destined it," the man said, chuckling.
"The thing about my ex-mate, she's a white wolf and so damn beautiful," I said as his pupils dilated.
"Where is your mate now?" the man asked.
"She's the Luna to the Blue Eclipse pack and mated to that fucking Alpha Antonio," I growled.
I looked at the man as his eyes widened for a split second before disappearing, and he smiled at me. I was suspicious of his smile as it didn't reach his eyes and wondered what I got myself into.
"Do you want her back?" the man asked as I looked up at him.
I chugged my drink and did three shots. I sighed and contemplated about what I wanted. If I had Staci beside me, we could rule side by side and be whatever we wanted.
"Yes, I want her back," I said as the man smirked.
"What's your name, young wolf?" the man asked.
"Grayson," I slurred and eyed the man.
"Well, I may be able to help you. Get your mate back that is," the man said, making me look at him suspiciously.
Why would an unknown wolf like him want to help someone like me? I may be drunk, but I'm not stupid. There's always a catch to shit like this, and I'm not going to be played for a fool.
"What's the catch?" I asked.
"There isn't a catch. But I have been in your shoes before and don't want to see you go through what I did at your age."
"Once you have your mate back. I'll make you the Beta of my pack."
"Someone of your bloodline and status needs a ranked position," the man says as I contemplate his words.
I was contemplating what the mysterious man was saying about getting Staci back. I wanted her back, but I didn't want that to get in the way of me being with a different woman every night. Maybe I could have the best of both worlds and be the Beta I was born to be.
"Do we have a deal?" the man asked as I looked into his eyes.
"Deal," I said.
The man reached out his hand toward me. I grabbed his hand in a firm grip and shook it. I stared at the man, wondering if this was a mistake, but I shrugged it off in the end and smirked.
"What's your name?" I slurred.
"That's not important. But how I'm going to help you is."
"Take this," the man said, slipping something into my hand.
I looked down in my hand and realized it was a flip phone. I wondered what the hell I would need this for. I looked up into the man's steely-gray eyes.
"I'll call you when the time is right. Keep this on you at all times," the man said, chugging his beer.
The man put a stack of bills on the bar. He told the bartender to put my drinks on his tab, and the bartender nodded. The man stood up from his stool and smirked at me before disappearing into the crowd.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my long hair. It grew over the last week, and I wouldn't cut it anytime soon. I ordered a few more beers and drank myself sloppy as my tolerance to alcohol ran low.
It was around 1 a.m. when I stumbled out of the bar and headed toward the crappy run-down motel I was staying in. The bar owner also owned the motel and let me stay in one of the rooms for a while.
My vision blurred as I felt the doors, trying to find my room. I was staying in room #6. I finally found my room and fished in my jeans pockets for the keys. Once I found the keys, I tried finding the keyhole but growled, as I found it difficult due to being drunk.
At least Gideon was quiet for the time being. I finally found the keyhole, inserted the keys as the door unlocked, and pushed the door open. After stumbling inside, I slammed the door shut and planted face-first on the bed as the room was spinning. I closed my eyes as sleep invaded my eyelids.
Unknown POV
I was in Bill's run-of-the-dump mill bar, Trade Routes. Bill and I grew up together and caused a lot of mischief for our parents. I come here occasionally to pick up a she-wolf or two, but tonight, I'm looking for rogues who may have heard anything about a white wolf.
"This place smells like piss and old moldy clothes," my wolf says, making me chuckle.
"Come, come now. We are here on business, so stay focused," I said, walking around the bar.
I looked at my potential victims; the pickings were slim, and some of these rogues looked like shit on a stick by the way they looked and smelled.
As I passed by the tables and headed for the bar, I felt this immense aura and looked ahead. The young wolf had his back to me, but I could tell he was a ranked wolf just by looking at him and feeling his aura.
He was about 6'4, with long blonde surfer boy hair and solid muscle. He wore a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and black boots. As I walked closer, his scent was still too new to be a rogue, so I figured he wasn't living like one for long. I heard him growl at the bartender and shoved him back as he hit the wall behind him.
“Trouble in paradise?” I asked the young wolf as his piercing gray eyes looked into mine.
He looked like a wolf with a broken heart and was buzzing, so maybe I could get him to talk if I played my cards right after ordering more beers and the most potent drink in this place. I pretended to be his friend as he spilled his guts about the she-wolf he rejected.
When the words white wolf and Blue Eclipse left his lips. I knew I hit the jackpot tonight. I encouraged the young wolf to continue as he told me what pack he came from and what his rank was.
"I knew I smelled Beta blood in him," my wolf grunted.
I assisted the young Beta, telling a little lie about helping him get his mate back. But I wanted to give her to the vampire as my payment to take over the Blue Eclipse pack. When he said yes to the deal and shook my hand, I knew I had him. I didn't tell him when he asked for my name because he didn't need to know my identity.
I gave him an old burner flip phone and told him to hold on to it and wait for my call. I could tell he was suspicious of me, but a broken-hearted wolf was more easily manipulated. I set a stack of bills on the bar top and told Winston to put his drinks on my tab.
I smirked at the young Beta as he eyed me and disappeared amongst the crowd. I looked around, and I saw what I was looking for. As I approached, four rogues were playing cards at a round table in the back.
"Stop cheating, Manny," I heard one of the rogues say as I pulled a chair from another table and sat between the other two.
"How would you guys like to be rich?" I asked as the four rogues turned their heads and looked at me.
"Who the fuck are you?" the one that seemed to be the leader asked with a scowl.
"The man with the money."
"Do you want to get paid for the job or not?" I asked, looking into each of their eyes.
"How much?" The leader asked as I turned my head and looked into his dark brown eyes.
"One thousand a piece. Four ways," I said.
"What's the job?" the leader asked.
I began to explain the details of breaching the borders of the Blue Eclipse pack and stealing the pack's Luna. In return, I would pay them for their services.
"Blue Eclipse?" the leader asked as I nodded.
"Easy pickings. We have a few other friends we could round up for the job," the leader said.
"Even better," I said and smirked.
"This is Gus, Manny, my brother Jake, and you can call me Jeff," Jeff said, naming his friends.
I didn't care to remember their names because, more than likely, only a handful would come back alive, but only if they had the Luna with them.
"Meet me here tomorrow for your payment," I said, handing Jeff a folded paper.
I stood from my chair, bid goodbye to the rogues, and left the bar. I entered the SUV as one of my warriors closed the door and jumped into the passenger seat.
"Head home," I said as we drove off.
I wouldn't call the vampire until I had his prize. Blue Eclipse was the pack of all packs, but before Richard Payne was the Alpha, the pack was about 600 total, while mine was bigger. Before I became the Alpha of my pack, my Father and Richard agreed to the alliance, and the payment was Richard's one and only daughter, Alicia.
Alicia was beautiful with long, wavey light brown hair, blue eyes, with a curvy body that made my cock twitch. Just thinking about her has my cock standing at attention. But as fate had it, Alicia met her mate in that fucking Ricardo Silva and became the Alpha and Luna of the Blue Eclipse pack.
My destined mate was some fucking Beta's daughter from the River Valley pack. I was cheated, and the Blue Eclipse pack should've been mine, along with Alicia.
We had arrived home. I entered the packhouse and walked upstairs to my bedroom. I quickly showered and linked my Beta to bring me Lisa. She was one of my girls who obeyed like the little sheep she was.
"Enter," I said after hearing a solid knock. My Beta opened the door, and Lisa walked in with her head bowed while my Beta closed the door behind her.
"Lisa, it is always a pleasure to see you," I smirked and walked toward her.
"Alpha," she said.
I quickly ripped her clothes off and picked her up, throwing her over my shoulder. I smacked her ass as she whimpered and tossed her on my bed. My mate would feel this tonight, but I didn't care. My cock was going to plummet this omega's pussy until I had my fill for the night.
