The Mystical Prince And The Pauper

Chapter 9

I opened my heavy eyes with a groan as I reached for my phone that continued to annoyingly ring at my bedside table.

I grabbed it and swiped on the green button before putting it to my ear, “Hello?” I tiredly and sleepily whispered.

“Good morning, Darling. I hope you had a restful night.” Came the voice of the person that had been racing tirelessly through my head the whole night and deprived me of my sweet sleep, the monkey! Wait, how did he ev- Rose.

“Unfortunately I did not.” I answered truthfully as I looked at my digital watch to find it pridefully showing 07:24. You have got to be kidding me. I only slept for two hours! “I’m going to go back to sleep, good morning .” I lazily said before removing my phone from my ear and swiping on the red button, completely ignoring the gibberish he was saying. No one deprives me of my sleep.

I tiredly put my small old, Samsung J1 on my bedside table with a yawn.

Pulling my warm blanket to neck, I closed my eyes ready to be taken back into my sweet sleep.

“That was rude of you, Darling.” A deep, taunting voice sounded against my ear as the warm breath teased my ear.

A yelp instantly left my lips in shock as my body was filled with adrenaline making me jump off the bed and fall onto my carpeted floors with a loud and painful thump as my back connected with the hard flooring.

“Ow.” I cringed at the spiking pain that raised up my spine and throughout my back.

A concerned face instantly appeared in front of me with guilt glazed eyes,” My sincerest apologies, Darling. Are you alright?” Nicholas softly asked, his eyebrows scrunched in concern, a a frown tightly lacing his lips as his warm large hand gently found its way behind my back and lifted it up, gently cradling me in his warm hold.

His other hand snaked under my bare legs making warm sparks erupt where our skins touched. A soft moan left my lips as I buried my face into his black clad shirt. His cologne made my knees weak and put me in a state of euphoria as it nestled me into its manly grasp.

“I take it you are enjoying my scent,” He lightly chuckled, bringing me back to reality as my back touched the soft blankets of my bed, making pain erupt like a flame as an instinctive wince left my mouth in pain. He instantly lifted me back into his arms and cradled me into his chest, engulfing my whole body in warmth.

He sat down on my messy bed with me still in his arms before placing me gently onto his lap.

I instantly felt my face flush in embarrassment at the uncompromising position we were in. His hand gently laid on my back before warmth and sparkles engulfed my back. A soft moan of pleasure escaped my lips without my permission before a question circulating in my mind knocked me out of my reverie.

“What are you doing?” I asked without turning around.

“I am healing your back.” He plainly answered before he removed his hand and the cold nipped at my unexposed skin.

“Ahh.” I whined in disappointment.

A light laugh escaped Nicholas’ lips before I felt his lips against my exposed neck as he pressed his warm lips against it making a shiver run down my spine at the unexpected action even as it warmed by whole body.

“I have to take my leave now, Darling. Rosella will be here to fetch you for lunch, please wear any attire that brings you comfort,” He requested as he placed his hands on my hips and gently and effortlessly lifted me off his lap and placed me onto my bed before getting up and facing me, ” Please try not to be tardy, Darling,” He leaned over and placed a kiss onto my forehead before sending me a smile before disappearing into thin air leaving red rose petals in his wake that turned into sparks before completely disappearing.

My room suddenly felt gloomy and lonely. It felt like Nicholas took all the warmth and life of my room with him when he left and left me with an empty shell but at the same time, I have never felt so happy and complete.

A sigh of contentment left my lips as I crawled under my covers and cuddled into them, a certain, familiar, muscular, manly musk suddenly surrounded the whole room filling the room with the warmth that it had with Nicholas here. Sparkles gathered before my eyes before a crisp white note appeared on my pillow. I curiously picked it up and was immediately invaded by Nicholas’ manly cologne that almost had me swooning as my heart did a few flips.

My eyes connected with the neat, male handwriting:

I hope you find my apology gift to your liking.

I noticed how you took liking to it earlier.

I will see you this afternoon for lunch at 12 PM sharp.

No later, but you are most certainly permitted to arrive earlier.

Until then, my Darling.

Your Cold Prince,

Nicholas

The last part had me giggling to myself before I put the letter on my bedside table and cuddled my blankets. I was out in a manner of seconds, my mind occupied by a certain, cold prince I believe it lead me to having a fairytale dream or two.

“Emira,” A voice called from far away in my dark abyss,” Emira Sweetheart, time to wake up. Someone is here for you.” The voice began getting nearer and clearer, making me slowly open my sore eyes.

“Hmm?” I hummed,” Who?”

“Well a nice young girl by the name of Rose. She says you go to school together ad even attend the same classes. All I know is the girl is a doll.” My mom gushed as I slowly closed my eyes. Just two more minutes of sleep won’t hurt, right?

“Emira Evans!” My mom called in a disapproving, tone.

“Yes!” I replied jumping up from my bed at such a pace that my head created a slight headache and I felt lightheaded.

Mom sighed, but let me lay back down for a few minutes.

“And why did you not tell me that you were going out with a friend today, Young Lady?” Mom glared with a frown of disappointment. Going out? Ohh, the lunch.

I immediately jumped out of bed and to my wardrobe,” I’m sorry, Mom. I completely forgot I swear.” I promised because its true, I myself only learned about my lunch plans this morning then I fell asleep and completely forgot about them.

“Uh-ha. Just be safe okay? The world is not as safe as it used to be in my time. The world is a dangerous place nowadays.” She sighed and got off my bed,” Should I let her come inside your room or are you not at the stage in your friendship?” She asked.

“You can show her to my room while I take a quick shower. Man so late,” I said as I practically sprinted out of my room,” Nicholas is gonna kill me.” I mumbled once I was out of earshot. My mom hearing me say the last part would have raised questions that I would not have been able to answer.

I closed and locked the bathroom door before slipping off my pajama top and sports bra followed by my pajama pants. I jumped into the lukewarm water and took a short shower before applying some vanilla scented lotion and my face oil control cream before spraying some deodorant under my armpits and pulling on my white bra and black boy shorts underwear. I then pulled on my mid-thigh length, black tights before pulling on the white, spaghetti strapped flowy summer dress. It held my body until my waist before opening and flowing in layers to my mid-thigh in the front while it flowed to the back of my knees in the back. I completed my look by putting on brown leather sandals, luckily I painted my nails two nights ago so the beige nail polish hadn’t started to pitch and made my toes look reasonable.

I finished the whole look with a navy blue, waist length leather jacket before I combed my hair so it stood up as an afro and put on a black head band as decoration. It pulled on diamond studded earrings to complete the masterpiece and applied some Vaseline to keep some moisture on my lips without giving them too much shine.

I ran into my bedroom and pulled out my new, small navy blue and white handbag from my wardrobe.

“Wow, you look stunning.” Rosella’s awestruck voice had me turning to face her where she sat comfortably on my bed with her legs crossed.

“I didn’t see you there. Thanks.” I shyly smiled.

“Look at those legs.” She squealed, making me look down at my light brown skin.

“Umm, thanks?” I said,” Nicholas is going to kill me won’t he?”

“Not when you look this exquisite.” She waved me off with a flick of her hand,” Speaking about Nicholas, he is impatiently waiting for us at the park.”

“At the park?” I asked confused at his chosen location.

“Yep, when he saw that we were running late, my poor brother could not sit still.” She shrugged,” So, shall we go?” she asked.

“I guess.” I replied.
