The Missing Princess

I had never seen anything like that before. As quietly as I could, I opened the door to Reign’s room and smiled when I saw Kodi curled up beside Reign as they slept. Zhamaxin had returned with an unconscious Kodi after Reign was sedated. I hated telling the doctor to sedate him, but I knew if we didn’t, he would try to get back to her. Dani was down the hall screaming her little head off as she brought my grandchild into the world. I closed the door to the room so I could wander back down to Dani’s room and see if my granddaughter had decided to make her grand entrance. Kodi had a few minor injuries. Mostly bruises and a few scrapes and scratches. She was pale when Zhamaxin brought her back. The fey doctor told us that she had used way too much of her power for too long and exhausted her body. He told us he would be surprised if she woke up within the next two days. They were giving her fluids to hydrate her. I asked if she could sleep beside Reign telling them that they would heal faster if they could be together. The doctor agreed and they placed her beside Reign. Reign folded himself around her and growled at anyone who tried to touch her.

“Well has the princess made her grand entrance yet?” I asked.

“No, the doctor thinks it will be anytime now. She is being difficult. The little princess picked the worst time to decide it was time to make her grand entrance then she decided to take her time arriving. I think Dani is about to have them cut her out. I have heard her threaten Rory and Vance several times.” Zhamaxin told me.

“Of course she did. Her mother threatened me bodily harm when she was having Reign.” I replied.

“I threatened you bodily harm during both of the kids birth.” Elymyna announced.

“You did just that my dear.” Zhamaxin says.

Zenos was dead as was Dobrita and Lorena. Eros, Jeremy and their mates were not but they were currently in the dungeon here in the castle. I knew Zhamaxin and Elymyna hadn’t gone to see them yet. I don’t think they knew how to feel about Eros. One hand he was their grandson, but on the other hand he did kidnap the current queen while she was pregnant with the future heir. Deanernay, Alezios and Maxin had been brought here when Zhamaxin had sent a few of his men to where Zenos had been hiding out. Daenernay had told them where the house was, and they had been taken along with everyone that had worked with Zenos and Dobrita. Of course, those three had been released since they helped us. They didn’t feel comfortable here, so I let them go back to the pack. I knew Naydeen would take care of them. She had always wanted kids but could never have them.

“YOU TWO ARE NEVER GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR MY PUSSY AGAIN WITH THOSE DAMN DICKS OF YOURS. THIS IS ENTIRELY YOUR FAULTS.” Dani screamed.

“Oh, for the love of god.” I groaned.

“Should I blame my granddaughter for that or not?” Zhamaxin asked.

“Unfortunately, that is not Kodi’s fault. Dani has always had a mouth on her. I blame it on growing up around all those boys. Kodi didn’t exactly help these last few months, but she is not the main one to blame.” I huff.

Zhamaxin laughs at them as Dani yells something else blaming Rory and Vance causing us to laugh. Our laughing ceases when I hear the cry of a baby. Zhamaxin and I look at each other as the crying continues. The room stays quiet for a while before the door opens and Vance walks out carrying our new little princess. He stands between Zhamaxin and I showing us the new princess. Her hair is somewhere in between Dani’s and the twins. I smile when I see she has Dani’s eye colour. Her complexion is somewhere in between her parents complexion. Vance placed her into my arms. I had forgotten how small they could be. Mine hadn’t been this small in years.

“Oh, for fuck sake,” Vance groaned.

I turned to see Kodi wandering down the hall. Oh, for fuck sake, what is she doing out of bed. There is blood, well dried blood, dripping down her hand. Which means she tore her IV out at some point. How the hell she was able to get out of the room without Reign waking up. She was still half out of it. I handed the baby back to Vance who went back into the room with Rory and Dani.

“Kodi what are you doing?” I asked.

“Reign, looking for Reign.” She slurred.

I looked at Zhamaxin who sent one of the guys to check on Reign. She was right Reign was gone. Goddammit, where the hell did, he go? I walked back to the room to see Reign walking out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. He began to freak out when he noticed she wasn’t in the room.

“Don’t start. She is with Zhamaxin. Your sister had the baby, and I was holding your new niece when Vance noticed her staggering down the hall. She must have woken up when you were in the shower and went looking for you.” I explained.

“Oh, thank fuck. I woke up and felt like shit so I figured a nice hot shower would make me feel better. I am still sore as fuck, but I am all healed thanks to Blade. Which have you ever heard of anything like what happened?” Reign asked.

“No, but I am sure once everyone is better and out of the hospital it will be discussed. I have already told Zhamaxin about it and he has been asking around.” I replied.

The door opened as Zhamaxin walked in carrying Kodi who had passed out again. Someone had cleaned her hand off. It was bruised which I explained to Reign what had happened. He had Zhamaxin lay her down on the bed as he got dressed. He told us that he was going to give her a bath. I told him I would see if I could have someone bring her some clothes. Zhamaxin left some of those candies for headaches as we left them to get ready.

Kodi

Fuck, I let out groan as I tried to sit up. My whole damn body hurt. I opened my eyes to darkness. Well mostly darkness. There was some light coming in through the window. I looked around to find that I was alone in the room. Everything from the last few days came rushing back to me. I threw the blanket off of me as I started to climb off the bed.

“Do not even think about it young lady. You keep your ass on that bed.” Grandfather told me.

“No, I need to find Reign. He was injured and they took him.” I cried.

“He is fine honey. He and Aaron are down visiting Dani who had the new little princess yesterday. You were still unconscious, or we would have told you.” grandfather said.

I sat there on the bed wiping the tears that were streaming down my face. I knew I could trust grandfather, but I needed to see Reign for my own sanity. I was about to climb off the bed and leave the room no matter what he said when the door opened and in walked Uncle Aaron followed by Reign. A strangled cry fell from my lips as I flew across the room and into his arms.

“Hey I am fine my little copper flame.” Reign whispered into my ears.

“I woke up and you weren’t here. I thought...” I cried.

“Shhh, I am fine. I was visiting Dani. Which by the way she would like to see when you feel up to it.” Reign told me.

“I would love to see her, but I have a raging headache.” I whined.

I usually wasn’t this whiney, but I wanted him to myself. I felt a rather strong kick letting me know that my little man was fine which was something else I was afraid to ask about. Uncle Aaron said that was the first thing they checked when I was brought here. I guess our little man was upset about the whole situation.

“My grandson already has an attitude. When the doctor was performing the ultrasound, he waved his little hands then turned over and mooned us. I think he was mad about what happened and what they did to his mommy and daddy.” Uncle Aaron explained.

I giggled when he told us this, but my head didn’t like it causing me to groan. Grandfather handed me one of his miracle candies. I popped that bad boy in my mouth and within a few minutes the headache started to subside. I heard Reign let out a groan. Our little man was going to be a handful. There was a knock on the door which Reign told whoever it was to come in. Rory stuck his head in to see what was going on. He said that they would be releasing Dani and the baby soon. I whined about having to stay here but Reign said that the doctor would be in shortly and maybe I would be able to go home. I knew he meant to the castle which I still hadn’t stepped foot into the castle. I didn’t want to deal with Rory and Vance’s council and what they would say to me or expect of me. Rory backed out of my room as the doctor walked in. I heard the doctor huff at him, which made me laugh.

I kept my hand in Reign’s as we walked into the castle. Everyone was looking at me and I heard a few gasps. I am guessing they figured out who I was. I knew my brothers and grandparents had explained what had happened and that I had been found. From what the twins had told me everyone was excited. Rory and Vance were standing there with who I was guessing was their council behind them. I was surprised to see that all the members were young. I was expecting a bunch of old geezers.

“I can see by your expression that you were expecting a bunch of old backwards guys on our council.” Vance commented.

“Yes, I was.” I admitted.

“There was a bunch of old backwards assholes on the council but when your brothers took over, they cleaned house and got rid of them. Hello princess my name is Falyna.” Falyna said.

“Um, hi. I am glad to hear they cleaned house. I would have hated to have to tell off those old geezers off for telling me how to talk or act.” I told them.

They all laughed as my grandparents walked up. The old geezers were following my grandfather which made me roll my eyes. I am in no mood for some old backwards misogynistic assholes right now. Reign wrapped his arm around me as I huffed. I could tell they wanted to say something, but they were smart enough to keep their mouths shut.

“Does this mean the princess is moving to the castle to attend court?” One of the old geezers asked.

“No, this means that the Luna is here to visit her sister-in-law and see her new niece. I will visit when I can. I want nothing to do with your court shit.” I hissed.

I might be exhausted but I can definitely find enough strength to deal with these fuckers.

“No, my Luna, who is carrying my pup will returning to the pack with me. I will think very carefully about anything you say. If you cause her any distress while she is carrying my pup, we are going to have a very serious problem.” Reign growled.

I am positive that Blade was riding shotgun when he said that. I saw the old geezers huff and start to say shit when Rory and Vance told them that I am still part of the family and when my opinion is needed, I would come here. Grandfather told them to shut it. He told them that they were no longer part of the council and continued to rip them a new one as we followed Rory and Vance to where Dani and my new niece were.

“Oh, my fucking god, she is so damn adorable.” I squealed.

“Watch your language and there was no need to reach that octave” Vance hissed.

I flipped him off as I sat down beside Dani. She places the baby in my arms as she slept. I couldn’t wait to hold my little man. I still had a couple more months or that is what we thought. We still weren’t sure when he would make his grand arrival, but I knew he would come when he was ready.

“What is her name?” I asked.

“Her name is Maenerya Gianna.” Dani answered.

That is such a pretty name and it made me realise that I hadn’t thought of names for my little man. Reign sat beside me as the little one started to move around in my arms. I knew we still had a lot to talk about, but right now that could wait. This little lady was our main focus for a while.
