We watched as they faced off with my little copper flame. We had seen the weird hatch of the ground. There was something engraved on it but it was in a language that I was not familiar with. Dad couldn’t place it either. I had taken a picture of it and sent it to the twins asking them to show it to the grandparents. We were supposed to watch, but something deep inside of me told me I needed to be near her. When she took a couple of steps back grabbed that damn pendant I tensed. When she released that scream, I knew I needed to be there now. I felt something within me shatter. Blade let out a painful howl in my head as his form dropped to the ground within my mind and started shifting. I found myself standing beside Kodi making sure she was fine. I felt the sparks between us when I touched her but there was something else. I looked into her eyes, and I nodded. I went and stood a ways from her but close enough if she needed me.

“Well shit did you know Randy did that?” I asked dad.

“No, I had no idea he had willed her his magic right before he died. Chiron told me he was mumbling something, but he couldn’t understand what he was saying.” dad replied.

“I am not surprised he went to this extent to make sure that this didn’t happen.” dad added.

I laughed when Lorena went down and found that room empty. Serves the bitch right. When dad and Kodi explained that the only one that could return her magic to her was dead I laughed some more. I about lost my shit when she tossed that damn necklace down on the ground in front of Lorena. Dad yelled something to her, but she either didn’t hear him or was ignoring him. I watched as she lifted herself off the ground after those three fuckers used their magic on her. It appeared that their magic had no effect on her. I stood there in shock as did the others when she started chanting in that weird language.

“HOW THE FUCK IS THIS POSSIBLE?” Lorena screamed.

“RANDY MUST HAVE HAD MY GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHERS BOOKS. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE KNEW THE DARK FEY SIDE OF MY FAMILY BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY.” Zenos yelled back.

“THAT ISN’T JUST DARK FEY THAT IS A MIXTURE OF DARK ELF. WHAT THE FUCK?” Dobrita yelled.

Elves, what the fuck are they talking about? I knew that elves existed, but they are even more secretive than the damn fey. How my little copper flame got her hands on anything related to the dark elves or how Randy had anything related to them. I looked at dad but the confused and shocked look on his face told me he had no idea how any of this was possible either. Kodi seemed to be switching between chanting in that ancient fey language to what I am guessing is the ancient elf language. I am sure my eyes along with everyone else’s eyes almost popped out of my head when the damn forest came fucking alive and started walking around.

The fucking trees pulled themselves from the ground and were walking around. I swear it felt like I was in some weird ass fantasy movie. I let out a breath that I hadn’t realised that I was holding when her feet touched the ground again. I knew she was in control but her being that high off the ground had Blade and I anxious. I felt different. Whatever he had gone through was over. There was something about him that was different now. He stayed lying on the floor of my mind recovering from that weird episode. I decided to leave him alone. I let out a growl when she gave me that smile of hers. I knew she was up to something. When she challenged Zenos to a fucking fight I was ready to jump in but then she said that no one could interfere I wanted to pull my fucking hair out. Kodi was winning but then Zenos stood up and I knew he wasn’t going to stick to the rules. I could feel his magic and aura streaming out of him. I knew he was going to play dirty. Kodi must have known it too because she closed her eyes, and they were glowing like a burning fire when she opened them. You could almost feel the heat coming off of her. I linked everyone telling them to sit down and not to fucking move. Dad glared at me, but he did as I said. I continued to stand. My legs wobbled when she unleashed her aura fully. I recovered quickly while Dobrita and Lorena kneeled. Zenos was doing everything in his power to not kneel.

“Holy fuck.” I gasped.

I watched as wings sprouted from her back. They resembled flickering flames and there was smoke rolling off of them. She was chanting again switching between the elven and fey languages again and then she merged them. Anything that wasn’t attached to the ground began to float. The two women fought and finally stood up. They both started to say something as they pointed their magic at my little copper flame. Kodi turned her flaming eyes at them. Zenos whipped his head around when he heard them screaming. They were both on the ground withering in pain. Myra had told us that they must have left Lorena with just enough magic to let her live as long as a normal witch. She did tell us that if she were to get her magic restored that it could kill her since her body had been without so long it was weak.

“I GAVE YOU AN OPTION AND WE HAD AN AGREEMENT. I WAS TRYING TO MAKE THIS FAIR BUT I TAKE IT FROM WHAT YOU JUST DID THAT YOU DON’T WANT FAIR. NOW YOU WILL SEE WHAT I CAN FUCKING DO.” Kodi yelled.

Zenos stood there staring at her as her powers ramped up. I knew shit was about to become real, but I wasn’t expecting what was to come.

“TELL ME HOW YOU ARE DOING THIS?” Zenos growled.

“I can do that. Although normally it is usually the asshole bad guys that reveal their plans. Uncle Randy knew my great great uncle who had saved all my great great great grandmother’s books. He gave them to Uncle Randy to hold onto until I was old enough to understand them.” Kodi said.

Her voice was deeper than I have ever heard. It made me shiver which isn’t easy to do. I knew Zenos was talking about the whole elf thing. I also knew that Kodi was stalling to piss him off.

“HOW DO YOU KNOW THE LANGUAGE OF THE ELVES?” Zenos demanded.

“Oh, you want to know about that. Everyone knew that Uncle Randy was a warlock. What no one knew was that he was a quarter elf. His mother was half-light elf while his father was half dark elf. He trained my in both their magic and fighting skills. His cousins from the elven realm would come and help him train me. He gave me all those ancient elven books when we were attacked that night. He had hidden them in the Oregon house.” Kodi told him while laughing.

Zenos’s eyes widened when Kodi began to swirl some weird coloured air in her hand. He let out a growl as he jumped at her. She laughed at him as she lifted her hand causing him to shoot straight up and then fall back down to the ground. His fey powers caught him before he could hit too hard. He jumped back up and threw something at her that she caught and aimed it straight at his chest. It knocked him on his ass which made me laugh. The women screamed again.

“Return their magic to them. “Zenos growled.

“I don’t think I will. They don’t deserve it. I should take your as well.” Kodi hissed.

“You will have to kill me before I would let you do that. Maybe I should use something you love to convince you more.” Zenos drawled.

Eros and his little group of fuck ups were back, and they had Dani with then. Her hands were tied behind her back as Jeremy yanked her back against him. Her eyes were swollen from crying. I let out an earth shaking roar when I saw her. Dad was fuming. I could feel the anger radiating off of him.

I felt my bones start to break and rearrange themselves like normal. What I wasn’t expecting was that it hurt. It was almost as if I was shifting for the first time again. I let out a roar as I finished shifting. I stood up and I immediately realized that I was taller than I had been. I looked down and fuck I was standing on two legs. I heard everyone gasp and I heard dad ask how this was possible.

-Blade what the fuck? - Me

-I don’t know but we are a fucking Lycan. - Blade

I watched everyone look between the two of us. No one said a thing for I don’t know how long as I walked over to my little copper flame. I dropped down on to four legs as Kodi ran her hand through the fur on the top of my head. Okay so maybe I did purr, who was going to say anything to me about it. No one unless they wanted to lose thier head.

“Impossible.” Zenos stated.

I had no idea what he was talking about, but I stood back up and walked towards Eros and his group. Jeremy still had a hold of Dani. The two girls with them tried to stop my with magic but it did nothing to me as I deflected it with a wave of my hand. I looked over my shoulder when Zenos let out a howl of pain. I glanced over my other shoulder to see both Dobrita and Lorena lying lifeless on the ground.

“You fucking little bitch. I should have killed your damn mother when I had the chance. If your damn dog touches my son, his mate and friends he will fucking die just like my mate did.” Zenos growled.

Zenos levitated himself off the ground as I continued on my way to get my sister. There was a flash of light as Rory and Vance appeared out of nowhere. Their mouths hung open when they saw me then their line of sight travelled to their sister. Dani let out a cry as she bent over. Shit I knew she was getting close to having this kid but now was the worst possible time. Jeremy threw Dani to the side where the women were. They caught her as I got to them. I felt something stab me in the back causing me to let out a howl. That did it. Dani let out another cry as she dropped to her knees in front of her. I was able to turn around as Kodi wrapped her hand around Zenos’s neck from behind. She let her aura roll off her in waves as fucking flames started coming out of her hands and soaking into Zenos’s body. He finally burst into flames as she tossed him onto the ground. Rory and Vance got to Dani and Eros as the others fled. Well, they tried to flee but they didn’t get far before Kodi had them dangling in the air.

“Take them to the hospital. This shit ends now.” Kodi roared.

“No, I am staying.” I groaned.

Rory and Vance didn’t listen. I had already shifted back as they grabbed whatever was sticking out of my back. Dad was there to help them with me as Shay, Batina and Raef ran over. Rory had one of my arms over his shoulders while dad had the other one. Vance had Dani in his arms as they teleported us to their realm.

“Don’t worry I will go back for her.” Rory told me.

“No, you stay with Dani. I will go back for my granddaughter.” Zhamaxin told him.

I was trying to fight them so I could get back to my little copper flame when the entire hospital shook violently. I looked at Zhamaxin and I knew that Kodi had used her power to end them all. It made me fight even harder as I felt something stabbed into my arm. I felt all the fight leaving me as blackness took me.
