The Missing Princess

I had a plan now, I just needed everyone to agree to it. That is going to be the issue. We knew part of the plan thanks to Claude, but I am sure Zenos had other plans. There is no way that Zenos and Dobrita were going to hand me over to Claude. The fact that they included Dani in the plan had my brothers seeing red. Pretty sure they wanted to fly to Russia and tear it apart until they found Zenos.

“Okay please listen to me before you have an aneurysm. We know what Zenos and Claude planned. I say we let the first part of the plan happen the way they thought it would. Dani, grandmother, Naydeen, Ellie, Noelani, Batina and I can go shopping for the babies or whatever, even if hate to shop. We know they are waiting for an opportunity to take us so let’s give them what we want. The shadows will be watching us, and you will know the exact moment they take us. They only want Dani, Batina and myself so I the three of us can split from the rest. The shadows will be tracking us, and you know they will tell you where we are.” I explained.

“No fucking way. This is what they want, and you are asking us to just hand you to them.” Rory hissed.

Reign lets out a sigh. I can tell that he wants to tell me no, but to be honest I am not sure how he is going to react. Uncle Aaron has an unreadable expression on his face. Vance and Rory look ready to kill me for even suggesting this. I had already talked to Dani and Batina, and they were both on board with this idea. The other woman agreed but I knew they weren’t as comfortable with the idea as the three of us were.

“I hate to say this, but Luna Kodi is right. We know what they want to do and that gives us the upper hand. I would like to know what Zenos’s plan is though. I am sure him and Dobrita came up with something after Claude and his beta left.” Askel says.

“Lorenzo wasn’t much help. He corroborated what we learned from Claude when Zhamaxin showed us his thoughts. It is clear they know that you are pregnant my little copper flame. I have talked with Theodore but so far, they haven’t been able to find out much more than we know. I don’t like this plan any more than the rest of you, but Kodi has a point. We have more control over the situation if we follow this plan.” Reign sighs.

I close my eyes when everyone in the room decides that they should all talk at the same time. I get it this plan is dangerous, but I am not going to let anyone hurt Dani or Batina. Let’s now forget that Batina has powers of her own that she can wield and is damn near as dangerous as I am. I have the shadows on my side that will make sure that everyone is aware of where we are at all times. I sat there looking at Dani who looked ready to murder my brothers as they were arguing with grandfather. I was waiting for grandfather to smack both of them upside their heads. A loud screech accompanied by a bright flash of light silenced the room. Batina stood there with a scowl on her face. I couldn’t hold my laughter as all the men looked at her. I could feel Reign’s eyes on me. I am sure he was glaring at me for laughing.

“Okay now that I have your attention. I understand that this plan is dangerous, but you have to remember that both Kodi and are powerful. I may not be able to fight like her, but I can protect myself. The only reason they got the drop on me last time was because they drugged me. Nothing will happen to us or to Dani.” Batina pointed out.

“Young lady that was very unnecessary.” Askel states.

“I had it under control. No one was hurt. Someone had to get all you men to shut up and listen.” Batina said.

There is a knock on the door which Ino opens. Gaston slips his head in asking if we need anything else. I assure him that we are fine. Ino shuts the door so we can return to our discussion. I was still trying to decide where Zenos’s and mine final show down would be. I knew I didn’t want it on any of the islands. I need to lead him somewhere that I have room to deal with his power hungry ass. We weren’t really getting anywhere when there was a flash of gold along with some pink smoke. Once it cleared there stood a girl that couldn’t be more than 16. She looked familiar as a chorus of growls erupted around the room. I stepped in front of her before one of the guys could do anything.

“Who the fuck are you?” Reign growled.

“My name is Daenernay. Zenos and Dobrita are my parents. Please listen to what I have to say before you try and kill me. I am not like them. Don’t get me wrong, they are my parents and I love them. They have loved me and given me everything a girl could want but I know what they do, and I am horrified and disgusted by it. I heard them talking after that alpha and his beta left. They were going to double cross that alpha by using his men to kidnap Luna Kodi and Dani. They were then going to use them to take over his pack and force an alliance with Kings Askel and Bastian. Jeremy was going to be made alpha since he is of alpha blood. No, I don’t know which pack is family is from. Dad wants Kodi for her power. He hasn’t cared about the throne in years, but mom and dad have become power hungry. They have my brother and Jeremy brainwashed along with their mates. Actually, everyone in that damn house is power hungry. The only three that can see through their delusions are me, Alezios and Maxim. They are Uncle Xalamar’s fraternal twin boys. We have never agreed with them or what they stand for.” Daenernay explained.

“You look familiar, but I know that you are to young to be the woman I saw standing outside the house the night that your father and his crazy friends burnt it down.” I pointed out.

“That was my Aunt Vaesyna. She has been trying to stop my parents for years. She helps them but only enough to learn what they are up to. She is the one that told them that you weren’t anyone important that night. They saw you fleeing the house and thought about coming after you, but because of her they didn’t bother.” Daenernay added.

“I can’t stay much longer. I am taking a huge chance being here now. I will come back when I can. I can tell you that you need to go to the place that this started with fire. I would like once this is over to get to know my family. I hated being kept from all of you. Yes, I know all about you, but I have learned it on my own. I have to go now. I will be back as soon as I can.” Daenernay told us.

She disappears in a golden light and a cloud of pink smoke. Well, that was interesting. I am not sure what to make of this or of her but something in me says that we can believe her. The shadows didn’t react when she was here, so they trusted her. Now to see what everyone else thought of her little speech.

Reign

This damn meeting just took a strange turn. I wasn’t expecting someone to show up in a cloud of pink smoke during this discussion. Blade almost attacked her when she told us who she was and who her parents are. I had to hold him back as she talked. I had noticed that the shadows didn’t react to her, which meant that they trusted her. I could tell that everyone was absorbing and trying to let what she told us sink in. Kodi always thought someone saw her that night and she was right, but that person helped her to escape. I would like to talk with Vaesyna, but I am not sure how to find her or if she would talk with us. Maybe Deanernay will talk with her once she is back home. I would like to know how she is sneaking around without her parents finding out.

“How do we know if she is telling the truth?” Kekipi asked.

“She was telling the truth. I can tell when someone is lying. Daenernay wasn’t lying about anything including her aunt. I can check a few things and see if I can track down this aunt. I would like to know what she meant by when she said that Kodi needed to go back to the place where this started with fire.” Calder commented.

“I was going to ask the same thing. That didn’t make any fucking sense.” I growled.

“She meant the house that burnt down in California. There must be something there that they want besides me. I cleaned out the house in Oregon a few months after the fire. I wanted to make sure that no one was keeping an eye on the house waiting for me. I took most everything the night of the fire. I never did go back to the house in California because I knew all of Uncle Randy’s stuff was destroyed. Hell, most of it exploded that night.” Kodi told us.

“Before you go there, I would like to send someone to see who might be lurking about. If there is something there then the plan that you had might now work. What about your book signing schedule?” I said.

“Oh yeah, I got the schedule a few days ago. It does start in California and ironically not far from the house. However, I would have to do this a week before. I can guarantee that I will be expending a shit ton of power and will be down for a few days.” Kodi replied.

I came up with the plan of having Kodi, Raef and Shay head to California a week before the signing. I don’t want the other women involved. If what Daenernay said was true, then only Kodi will know what Zenos and Dobrita are after. Kodi agrees that since we know this that the plan needs to be altered. I link Raef and Shay. They need to know what is going on. It takes them a while to show up. They were both running patrol.

“I thought you pulled them off of patrol since they were to be Kodi’s personal guards?” I asked.

“I did, but they volunteered since those assholes are out lurking about.” Mauku answered.

Of course, they volunteered. Those two will do anything to make sure that their Luna is safe. They walk in huffing and puffing. I am betting they ran here. I tell them to sit as Kodi hands them something to drink. Shay sets his drink down and stiffens. He starts sniffing around. His head whips around to where Batina is standing beside Bastian. Batina looks up at Shay as he stands up. I smile as he walks over to her. Bastian has the same smile on his face. He knows exactly what is going on.

“Mate.” Shay growls.

Batina squeals as Shay pulls her into his arms. Kodi also lets out a squeal causing me to flinch. I am happy for Shay. He has been looking for his mate for four years. Raef asks when they are leaving. I let them know that we are still working out the fine details. I end the meeting since all the attention has shifted to the new mates. I wrap my arms around Kodi as she feeds me some of the food. I place a hand on her belly, and I am rewarded with a kick. I don’t like this idea at all. I don’t like putting her or our pup in danger, but I know after talking with Zhamaxin that she is more deadly now than before. I know that she and my pup will be fine, but Blade and I can’t help but have our doubts.

-I trust her, but something about all of this isn’t right. - Me

There is something about all this that isn’t sitting right with me. I trust Kodi to be fine, but we still haven’t been able to find out who else was there that night that they burnt Randy’s house to the damn ground. We are missing something, and I don’t like the unknown. All I can do right now is let it play out.
