The Missing Princess

This last month has been stressful. We have had to watch what was going on within the pack via a mirror portal. Dobrita was able to conjure it up and make it work. We couldn’t risk stepping foot on to any of the islands and have Kodi feel our magic. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to get access to the big island but so far I have come up empty. The boys had been spending more and more time at the beach surfing. Yes, I know we live in Russian but they can, with the use of portals, go back and forth from here to California within seconds. I know it was there way to work off the stress and clear their minds. I heard a loud bang and stood up. I stretched feeling my back pop. I have been sitting in my chair way to fucking long. I walk out into the main room to find the boys digging through the kitchen searching for something to eat. They seemed to be in a good mood which was a complete turn around from just a few hours ago.

“You two seem to be in a good mood.” I state.

“Hell yeah we are. Jeremy got a notification that there is a major surfing competition coming in a few weeks.” Eros replied.

“And where is the competition located?” I asked.

“It’s in Hawaii.” Jeremy answered.

I stare at them thinking I heard them wrong. Yes, they really said this. This is the break we need. I still don’t know if Reign and the pack has any idea about the boys or that they are aligned with me, but if doesn’t matter. This is the loophole we were waiting for. Eros asks me what the hell is wrong and I explain everything to them.

“We didn’t think of it like that. We were excited about the competition. They can’t deny us entrance or it will look suspicious. Dad I don’t want to mate with Kodi. While she is beautiful she is also my cousin, even if we aren’t part of the family anymore, and that is just gross.” Eros comments.

“Yeah, your mother pointed that out when the idea popped into my head. I am sure you have a second chance mate out there you just need to find her.” I told him.

He isn’t wrong. When everything went down I was disowned by my family, but I also rejected the link with them and cut all ties with the kingdom. That is why they haven’t been able to find me. That is the other reason that Kodi didn’t pick up on Eros being related to her the last time they were in a competition together. I am sure she felt his magic but she only saw him as a fellow supernatural, but not as part of her family. Eros tells me that the competition isn’t for another week but that they will be leaving for Hawaii in four days. They want to get there a few days early to get settled and to practice.

“The organisers of the competition want all the participants to be there three days early to get prepared. Before you ask I know for a fact that Kodi will be participating. They asked her personally to be a competitor in the competition, even if it is a men’s competition. They did the same shit last time.” Eros grumbles.

“You don’t seem happy about this?” I asked.

“I am not. She is one of the best, and probably the best female surfer, but she shouldn’t be a participant in the men’s competition. I have no idea why they let her enter. I have never heard of this before. She won the last competition. I am not saying Jeremy or I would have won if she hadn’t been in it but at least we would have had a better chance at winning.

“One of my friends that I talk to there has told me that the former and current merking and the two princes have been seen visiting the pack lately. In fact one of the princes appears to be staying within the pack.” Jeremy told us.

That was not what I was expecting to spew from that boy's mouth. The merking, past and present, never got involved in others shit. I didn’t even know that the former merking knew Alpha Aaron. This didn’t make sense and I don’t link this at all. The fact that they have been visiting the pack and now one of the current merkings brothers is staying within the pack. The boys wonder off somewhere deeper into the house. I shake my head at them. They also had a large pile of food with them. I pulled out a few things and started to make dinner. I wasn’t a chef by any means but I am a decent cook. Dobrita can’t cook to save her life. She can make food appear using her magic but if she had to cook something in order to live she would probably die. She knows this and doesn’t step food into the kitchen unless it is for drinks or something to snack on. I smile when I hear my daughters voice carry into the kitchen. Dobrita went to pick her up from school.

“You seem to be in a better mood now than when I left.” Dobrita says.

“I am. Your son and Jeremy told me something that turned my mood around.” I replied.

I tell her what they told me and I can see the light bulb turn on in her pretty little mind. I explain what I think, but I forgot that my sweet little girl was in the room. Now she wants to go watch her brother and Jeremy. The thing is that neither Dobrita or myself can go. We might not be family anymore, but I know that the minute we step foot on that island that Kodi will sense the shift in power and they will know we are there. I tell her that I will figure something out and that she can go watch her brother and Jeremy in the competition.

Eli

I have been working closely with Noa and his wife, who is one of the the sweetest people I have ever met. If I hadn’t known her heritage I would never have guess that she has any supernatural in her. I am not sure how this is possible. I need to figure it out. Xenton and I are sitting in the café. We have been coming her a lot lately. At first it was to check out the café that I had no idea existed. After that it became a daily thing. The food is excellent and the coffee is delicious. Quinn is with Kodi trying to figure out how to deal with Eros and his little friend being at the competition.

We can’t stop them from entering so we are trying to come up with a way to make them mess up and tell us where his fucking father is. We know Zenos and Dobrita are unable to come here since Kodi would immediately feel their magic.

“There will be other supernaturals in the competition as well. How do we know that they aren’t helping those two?” Xenton asked.

“We know that Ashton, Bain and Torrance aren’t working with them, but the others I don’t know that well. Most of the competitors are human so that is a plus. Ashton, Bain and Torrance are also good friends with Kodi so that is another plus for our side. I can’t say that Zenos wouldn’t approach some of the humans, but I doubt it. He hates working with human. If anything he would try and smuggle rogues onto the island to attack while everyone distracted with the competition.” I point out.

“Where are Ashton, Bain and Torrance from?” Noa asked.

“Ashton and Bain are cousins from Australia. Ashton is a vampire, but Bain is a hybrid vampire/werebear. His father and Ashton’s father are brothers but his mother is a werebear. Torrance is from Spain and is a elf/wolf hybrid. I know his mother is and elf and his fathers pack welcomed her fully. It helped that his father was the beta of the pack until Torrance took over two years ago.” I explained.

Noa seems a little surprised as I explained everything to him. Honestly I had to stop and try to remember how everything went to get it right. I don’t think Zenos would be stupid enough to try and sneak rogues onto the island and plan an attack while we are distracted with the competition, but with him you never know. Attacking the pack would be stupid when it is Kodi that he wants. She will be at the competition and there is no way to get away with an attack with so many humans around. A large plate of cookies are placed down in front of us making me look up and into Patyna’s eyes. I look at Noa when she walks away.

“Do you have any contact with her family?” I asked.

“I was able to track down her older brother. He lives in North Carolina and was surprised to learn she was alive. It seems that her mother split the two of them up just after Patyna’s second birthday. She left the brother with one of her cousins, but kept Patyna with her. Again we will never know why. I told him everything I knew and he was shocked. Him and his mate are making arrangements to come here. Which worked out well. He was recently promoted to and to make this even weirder he works for one of Reign’s companies. They have been packing up to move here these last two months. I told him that I would help him find a house. I was going to talk with Reign about it.” Noa said.

“Talk with me about what?” Reign asks.

He slides into the seat across from us. I look around but I don’t see Kodi anywhere. They are usually attached at the hip so it is weird to see him by himself.

“She is busy working on her book.” Reign comments.

Noa tells him what we had been discussing and he agrees to help Patyna’s brother find a place here. I was surprised to know that he knows Patyna’s brother rather well. He has been working for Reign for a few years now and had risen in the company rather quickly. Noa does tell us that Patyna doesn’t know about her brother yet.

“She believes she is an only child. Her mother never talked much about her father or other family members. It is like she was hiding Patyna for some reason. Her brother did ask a few of the family members about his mother but they weren’t able to tell him much.” Noa states.

“Someone has to know something. She was definitely hiding Patyna for a reason, but why is the question.” Reign points out.

I have already talked with Duncan and he is looking into Patyna’s family as well. Hell, I even talked with Mom and Dad, but they didn’t know much, They had heard the story as well and knew a couple of the family members but that was it. They did tell me they would see if they could get in touch with anyone to find out more, but I am not holding much hope. I hear Reign let out a growl. He is looking out the window. I turn to see what has him so fucking worked up and standing across the street is Volotor. That fucker has some balls. He crosses the intersection and continues down the street in the opposite direction of the café. I tell Xenton to get someone here so they can follow him. This bastard has been MIA for days now and then he suddenly appears. I am not losing this little shit again.
