The Minx

Chapter 11

By the time lunch rolled around, everyone heard that I was back and I knocked Jack into his place. Everyone was whispering about the Omega who left the Blood Moon pack to become Luna of the Silver Bullet pack. Ben was a great bodyguard. He was kind of stiff, but he did his job well. After grabbing my food, I turned and realized that I didn't know where to sit. Before, I would sit in the corner by myself, but today was different. I was different. I followed Ben to a table near the middle of the cafeteria where Yelang and other people from the pack were sitting. They smiled when they saw me.

"Cami!" Yelang smiled as she hugged me. "I didn't think I would get to see you today," she said. I shrugged.

"I really don't want to be here," I joked. She laughed and bumped her shoulder with mine gently.

"Oh, it can't be that bad."

"Oh yeah? I haven't seen Ben smile once," I said jokingly, directing my attention to him. Ben scowled for a moment before he attempted to smile. It looked more like a grimace. I laughed and shook my head. "It's okay, Ben, some people weren't made to smile. But seriously, loosen up. I know, Aspen told you to be my bodyguard and all, but I can handle myself," I said. He only looked at his food.

"Yeah, I saw that," he muttered before taking a bite. I almost forgot that Ben saw the whole 'lightning-hands' thing. Until I figure out what happened, that's what I'm calling it. I cleared my throat and gave Ben a stern look that told him to keep quiet. We ate lunch, chatting every now and then. The stares and glares from Blood Moon members didn't go unnoticed by me.

I went to throw my trash away and was stopped by the one and only Sage Martin. She was my main abuser when I was a part of the Blood Moon pack. She would constantly tease and beat me when Leo wasn't around. Remember the blonde who was feeling up Jack when I found out he was my mate?

Yeah her...

She smirked at me and crossed her arms. The cafeteria grew silent to watch the scene unfold. Seriously, it was like a movie scene... quite comical.

"The Omega returns," she sneered. Pretty much all of the members of the Silver Bullet pack growled in response.

"That's Luna to you," I corrected her calmly. It was like, ever since I mated with Aspen, I had truckloads of confidence and grace. I was calm and collected and not worried in the slightest.

"You're still an Omega," she said shifting her weight. I smirked lightly.

"Whatever you say," I egged her on. I moved to get around her, but she pulled me back by my arm.

"When I become Luna of the Blood Moon pack, you are so going to regret ever crossing me," she sneered at me. I released my arm from her grip and laughed in her face.

"By all means, go ahead. Oh, and by the way, I haven't even done anything to you... yet," I smirked at her. She glared and tried to slap me. I caught her hand and bent it awkwardly, causing her wrist to snap. She cried out and pulled her hand into her chest.

"You bitch!" she yelled. I only smirked.

"What part of 'Luna of the Silver Bullet pack' do you not understand? You're just a bully. That's all you ever will be, and if you become Luna of the Blood Moon pack, I fear for your pack's sanity," I said before continuing out of the dead silent cafeteria. I had no idea where that sudden burst of confidence came from, but I liked it a lot. Yelang jogged up beside me and smiled like an idiot.

"All hail Luna Cami," she joked. I laughed and hooked my arm onto hers with Ben following behind us.

"What? The bitch deserved it?" I shrugged.

"That was awesome," Ben said, smiling. I blinked at him in mock shock.

"I-Is that a... smile?" I joked. Ben rolled his eyes and shrugged.

"Violence makes me happy," he admitted with a light blush. Yelang and I could not stop laughing at that.

The rest of school, no one bothered me and I was grateful for it. When the last bell rang, I jumped out of my seat and quickly got my stuff together before fast walking to the parking lot. Aspen was leaning against his Mustang with girls swarming him. I growled lowly as I got closer. They stared at me wide-eyed before leaving. I glared at every last one of them until they were gone too. Aspen chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"You're so cute when you're jealous," he said huskily before he kissed me gently. "Where's Ben?" he asked confused. I rolled my eyes and got in the car. Aspen got in on the driver's side and looked at me expectantly.

"I appreciate you protecting me, but is 24/7 security really necessary?" I asked. He nodded and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Very. You said the man who took you was never caught, right? What if he comes back to finish what he started?" Aspen asked. I shook just thinking about it.

"We agreed you wouldn't bring it up," I snapped at him. He sighed and put his hand on my leg gently where my scars were, right near my hip.

"I agreed I wouldn't ask about it, even though I really want to," he corrected me. I sighed and looked out the window. "What did he do?" Aspen asked softly as we pulled up to the house. I ran inside and up the stairs. I curled up under the covers and sniffled. I tried to keep my tears at bay but it wasn't working.

"Camilla," Aspen said as he put a hand on my back. I flinched which only made him growl. I turned and looked at him through my teary eyes.

"Please stop Aspen," I begged.

"I need to know what he did to my mate," Aspen growled. I shook my head as the flashbacks started. I knew Aspen was in my head and would see everything, but I couldn't turn it off. I remembered everything. I remembered how he used me to please himself. I remembered how he would run the silver along my thighs constantly. I remembered how he injected me with something every day. Everything was vivid as if it had happened yesterday. Something like that was hard to forget and I didn't want to talk about it.

Aspen was growling uncontrollably but he got in and cradled me to his chest. We were both quiet as I cried. I hated thinking about it. I hated going there, but every now and then, my brain went there on it's own. After my crying eased, I looked at Aspen's angry face.

"Now will you stop asking about it?" I asked. He hesitated and I sighed. "I don't want to think about it, and every time you ask, that's what I think about," I said. He growled.

"I want to kill that sick bastard for what he did to you. No one touches what's mine," Aspen growled, holding me protectively. I rolled my eyes.

"You're a little too late. No one seems to know where he is. After they rescued me, he disappeared. No one has seen him since," I explained.

"Well, I'm going to find him and kill him," Aspen said. I shook my head.

"Wherever he is. He isn't bothering me so just... let it go, please. I'm finally happy. I don't want that to be ruined because you want to seek revenge for me," I asked. He growled but kissed my head.

"Fine," he agreed reluctantly. It was silent for a moment longer until Aspen couldn't help himself. "So what was the thing with your hands?" he asked. I sat up quickly.

"If I knew, don't you think I would've told you?" I snapped at him. I didn't mean to, I was just a little on edge. I sighed and closed my eyes briefly. "I'm sorry," I breathed. He only brought me back into his chest and kissed my head.

"Just relax, princess," he said softly. I could tell it was taking a lot of effort on his part to control himself I could feel his anger coming off of him in waves. Despite what he was feeling, he was trying to make sure that I was okay. I felt selfish, but grateful that I had such a wonderful man who chose me. I kissed his neck gently, causing him to stiffen and look at me curiously.

"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I know you didn't do anything wrong; I just hate talking about it. I love you," I said softly. He relaxed and kissed my head.

"I love you too, little minx," he replied.
