Chapter 5
I laid awake in bed listening to one of my favorite songs by Bad Wolves feat. DIAMANTE, called 'Hear Me Now'.
When there was a knock on my door on the other side came Jake's voice. "May I come in Squirt?"
"Yea."
He opened my door then shut it behind him. "Hey" He said as he walked over and sat beside me on my bed.
"Hi"
"Damien came over this morning again. He just wants to talk. Let him explain."
"Its alot more complicated then that."
"Not really. All you have to do is speak to him. Let him explain what you saw. Its not as scary as it seems." He stood.
"How do you know that? You dont understand anything that happened. " I glared at him.
"Yes I do. Because Aria is the same as Damien. Shes the sweetest most gental woman, but shes not human. Let Damien talk with you." Jake walked out.
I laid there still shocked by his words, when the door opened once more.
I looked up to see Damien. He shut the door behind him.
"Let me speak please." He walked over to my desk chair. Keeping his distance.
"I'm a vampire. My family is full of vampires. We will not hurt you. We feed off animals. Occasionally blood bags if we need a full regeneration. We can come out during the day. We can sleep but we dont really need it. We can stay up for weeks at a time before we really need to rest. The woman you saw all those weeks ago wasnt Rose." He paused. "Er, I guess she was. But she was Rose using anothers body to look like her and transform her mind into the body. As confusing as that probably sounds. It's honestly complicating to explain. Anyway Rose doesnt take risks. So shes not going to come anywhere near my family and myself. She has powerful witches. Centuries ago Rose and I met. She was a new vampire. Was forced into vampirism. I helped her. Trained her. Everything she knows is because of me. She found her mate during the Civil war. She had only been a vampire for 40 years. She was stuck at 18 in human years. But was 40 in vampire years. We fought for the North. My father, My uncle and myself. My mother helped slaves escape their plantations at night. Rose was among us as we ventured into southern territory. We came apon a few southern soldiers. One of which was her mate. They hadnt yet noticed us. So Rose went to them. We were in the middle of the forest. Miles away from any type of civilization on either side of us. The men were startled by her. Gregor, the man who was her mate, came forward to offer assistance. He was instantly taken with her. She stayed with him. Leaving us completely. She was ready to be on her own. Still young, but she was trained well. But he was human fighting in a war. She wanted to turn him. One night, she came to our camp and asked one of us to do it. She was still fairly new and wouldn't be able to stop if she tired to turn him. We refused of course. Told her having a new untrained vampire in a bloody war was dangerous. She agreed as mad and disappointed as she was. Months later we attacked a small regiment near the North Carolina boarder. It was my father, my uncle, five other soldiers and myself, who killed the men. Gregor was among them. My father tried to save him. But the bullet hit his aorta. My bullet. I killed him. Not knowing it was him. Rose never forgave me. You dont get a second chance at true love. At a mate. She ended up turning 50 soldiers on the southern side. Trained them. They never attacked any of the humans. They were the perfect war machines. She chose the ones with no family, those who were outcasts. She was able to draw them out. Shes a Siren. Her beauty alone pulls people in. But once she begins to sing, your done for. My family and I are the only ones who are immune to her and any Siren. Vampire or not." He looked at me. I had sat up in bed. I was scared and fascinated at the same time.
"I basically summed everything up. Any questions you have I will answer truthfully."
"How old are you?" I immediately blurt out.
"Three hundred and twenty years."
My eyes widened. "You're old."
"My father is eight hundred and sixty years. My mother is five hundred and eighty years. My uncle, Grayson, is seven hundred and thirty years. My brother, Caleb, is two hundred and ninety years. My first sister, Britney, is two hundred and ten years. My second sister, Chritine, is two hundred. And Jasil just turned to full vampire about one or two years ago. Shes the youngest of course." He smiled before it slipped away.
"Were you born or turned?"
"Born. Vampires can still have children. Our births only last 3 months though. The 1st month you're 4 months by the end. 2nd month you're 7 months. By the end of the 3rd month you're giving birth."
"Whow."
"And once we turn 16 we go through our transition. Turning full vampire. That's when our vampire aging starts. We dont stop growing until 4 years after our transition."
"This is all freaky and cool at the same time." I said looking at him. His eyes lit up at that. "I should be terrified. Yet I'm not."
"I must say you are taking this a lot better than I thought you would. After what you saw." He forced a laugh.
"You dont look like that too right? Like she did?"
"No. That was just her scaring you."
"Show me."
He looked at me before he pulled his lips back from his teeth. His canines dangerously pointy sharp. Longer than his other teeth. I gasped and stood. Walking over to him. I bent down and studied his teeth. Laughing a crazy laugh as they shortened and looked normal again. I pushed a finger to one. Wasnt sharp at all. He lengthened them again. This time it drew blood.
"That's awesome."I laughed as I looked at my finger. A small line of blood running down.
"This doesn't send you into demon mode right?" I asked. Eyeing him.
He laughed. "No. As deliciously sweet as your blood smells. It has no frenzy effect on me."
"What you said, back then, about your feelings for me. Were you telling the truth?"
"Completely. You are my world, my happiness. Ar, You are my kryptonite."
I gasped, "you do have a way with words." My voice barely a whisper.
"How do you become a vampire?"
"Well, for example. If Aria were to turn Jake. She-" I cut him off. "You know Aria?"
He laughed, " Yes. She is my cousin."
"Oh. Well then you can continue."
He laughed before continuing. "If Aria were to turn Jake. She would drain almost all of his blood. Then she would feed him her blood. After hes had enough of her blood. She breaks his neck."
"If that's how you turn then why wasnt your dad able to save Rose's mate?" I asked, sitting down infront of him. Crossing my legs.
"He was already dead by the time we realized it was him."
"How did she know it was you?"
"She was there. She had been with him. They stuck together. He knew what she was. She told him. Which is the only reason he agreed to have her there. She hid everytime they came across enemies. So they didnt shoot her and give her secret away. She watched me shoot him. She watched us realize who it was and she watched us try to save him. She watch him die."
"She knows you didnt mean too. Because you didnt know it was him. Why does she still try to ruin your life as well?" I looked up at him. Tilting my head.
"It doesnt matter whether it was an accident or not. When you lose your mate. Whether it from death or rejection. You have no feeling at all. You become.... lost... She watched him die. Again, No matter if it was an accident or not. She went mad. Her soul lost. She killed all the men with us except one. We were able to save him. We grabbed him as she started singing and ran off. All she was able to fixate her pain on was revenge. Now that you're here..."
"She wants you to feel the same? She wants you to hurt like she does."
He nodded. "She doesnt care how. She wants you out of the picture. Whether you reject me or she kills you."
"What are you going to do?" I asked him. I didnt want to die. I dont want to die.
"I'm going to fight till theres nothing to fight for anymore." He stated, looking at me. "What are you going to do?"
I looked at him. I knew what he wanted to know. But I just.... I couldnt make that decision right now.
"You have to prove that this is worth it." I spoke.
"Prove my love to you? Done. Let's go." He stood.
"Wait what? Where?" I sat back, stunned.
"If this went well, I had something planned." He put his hand out for me to take.
"And if it went bad?" I asked, my eyebrow raised.
"If you rejected me instantly, then I was going to leave. I was going to go and find Rose. Fighting till one of us dies."
"Can a rejection be taken back?"
"Yes. But only if within a month of the rejection."
"What if it's not meant. If I get mad at you and tell you I want you out of my life forever? Is that counted?"
"You have to truly mean it from the heart. Just as a changed rejection has to be from the heart." He nodded.
I took his hand and he pulled me up.
"I think I should change." I said. Looking down at my olaf pajama pants and shirt.
"No matter what you're in you'll always be beautiful. But Just grab something to swim in and you'll be fine."
"Swim? Its December?" I looked at him in horror.
"Trust me." He spoke in my ear. Then kissed my cheek.
I did what he said and we went downstairs after I grabbed my bag. Stuffing the swim suit in the bag with my wallet and keys.
"Where are you going?" Victoria asked. Her and dad were walking out of the kitchen as we descended the stairs.
"Out." I said.
"Its a school night." My dad said.
"We wont be out late, sir. I'm just taking her swimming."
"Swimming? Its December!" Victoria snapped. Saying the same thing I did.
"Victoria, I'm sure hes not taking her anywhere outside." My dad said.
"But it's still a school night." She said.
"Hes the son of your friend dad. Hes not going to do anything stupid. I'll be safe I promise. We are just going swimming."
"No. I wont allow it. It is a school night. Besides since when have you been friend with him? You were always cold towards him and never liked the dinners with his family." Vicky spoke.
"I'm 18 I can go out if I want to. I am a straight A student. I'll be home by 9."
"No you wont young lady. You are not going anywhere. You're grounded. Go to your room." Vicky hissed.
"You are not my mother, Vicky. You dont get to have any say in what I do. You're the reason my family was torn apart." I looked at my father, " I'll be home by 9, dad. I promise, okay?"
"Oka-" Vicky cut him off. "No. She shouldnt be allowed to leave. After talking to me the way she did."
"Its true! You ruined my parents marriage. Ruined my family. Corey wasnt even born when you became the secretary at the school my dad worked at. You knew he was married and still you made your advances. By the time Corey was born my parents werent talking. I was in the room with her when my baby brother was born. I was there through it all. And where was my dad? With you. Its pathetic. Both of you are terrible for just that alone."
"Ariel?" My dad said my name in a questioning tone.
"I'm sorry, father. But I've wanted to say this for months now. You never saw Corey. Not one time. You moved up here after you and mom split. You werent even divorced yet. By the time the accident happened you were completely out of our lives. Corey was only 6 months when it happened. His body was so mangled they wouldnt allow anyone to see him. I arranged both funerals without you. Both services. I did everything alone. I was alone. I had no one. You didnt even show up. I may be okay with being here. But I've never forgotten a single thing that has happened. I'm here because I have to be. I have no where else to go. You didnt even come get me right away. The officer who dealt with the case told me he contacted you and told you what happened. I was alone in the house weeks after. Until finally you showed up. I'm not at all okay with any of this. Ya sometimes Vicky is nice and I'm fine with her. But other than that I hate her. I hate you. But you're still my dad. I used to send you letters every Friday. Until one day I got every letter I sent, back. Unopened. You completely ignored your own daughter you had been there for since I was born. Right now all I feel like is your charity case. But I'm leaving. I'm not some child." I ended my rant, my face hot.
"You are a spoiled little brat!" Vicky snapped. "You should feel lucky we came and got you. We could have let you fend for yourself."
"No my father came and got me." I retorted.
"This is the exact reason why I told you not to bring her here, Kyle."
My dad stood there silently. His eyes never leaving my face.
"Thank you for expressing the way you feel, sweetheart." Was all he said, before walking away.
I looked at Vicky. Her face red with anger.
Before I knew it she had smacked me across the face. The left side of my face stung. Tears sprang to my eyes from the pain. God damn she hit me hard.
Damien stood there silently the whole time until she hit me.
"Kyle." He called for my dad.
He came walking out of the living room.
"I'll see you in school tomorrow. I'm not going to stay here." I spoke.
"What?" He asked confused.
"Vicky just hit me. Quite frankly I could press charges against her. She is not my mother and she is never allowed to touch me or tell me what I can and cant do."
"Just go, Ariel. We will deal with this later."
"I'll buy you clothes." Damien whispered in my ear when I went to go up the stairs.
I glared at him before I walked out the door with him following me.
"I have my own money." I said as I got into the passenger seat of his car.
"If you're going to be with me. You are going to need to learn how to accept things. Nothing you need will be spent with your money."
I grumbled some unintelligible words towards him as he drove off.
"You told me to prove my feelings. And I dont take that lightly. Your going to see how much I'll treat you like a queen."
"Where are we going?" I asked. Changing the subject.
"To my place. Well my family's house. But we all live together. We have an indoor pool. I'll have someone put a room together for you. We are going to stop by Walmart really quick though."
"Why?" I looked over at him.
"You need clothes for school. You cant go to school in pajamas. You need clothes for this weekend also. Unless you plan on going home tomorrow."
"No. I dont. Thanks."
"Of course." He pulled into the parking lot. After finding a spot to park we headed in.
He took me straight to the clothes. "Grab what you need. Then we will head over to the shampoos. You need stuff to use after we are done swimming."
We walked around finally I found 3 pairs of fuzzy soft leggings. I grabbed 2 tank top, a cute black over coat, and 3 plain black tshirts. Then went and grabbed a pair of boots and a thing of socks and panties. Since I was completely in pajama everything. I was even wearing slippers.
"Do you need anything else." He asked as I placed the clothes in the basket.
"No." I answered. We headed over to the hair care products.
I grabbed the normal strawberry shampoo and conditioner I always get.
"I use the shampoo as body wash also. It works just the same." I said, shrugging, when he asked if I needed that too.
"Let's get you a towel." He said after throwing a toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant, and perfume, in the cart.
"You trying to get me to move in?" I asked. He had gotten every scent right.
He laughed. "No. Just making sure you have everything for school tomorrow."
"Shit. I dont have my backpack."
"I can help with that." He said taking out his phone.
He put it to his ear. "Hey, Jake..... Ya Ariels with me...... Yes she took the news well. She has lots of questions.......Yea she did...... Shes not...... All weekend..... Anyway I have a favor to ask...... Ariel left her school bag. When you come over tonight can you bring it with you...... Okay..... Thanks.... See you later, Bye." He put his phone away.
"Jake is bringing your school bag, hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste over." He headed over to the towels.
"Then why do you still have those in there?" I asked pointing at the items he just listed.
"Because you'll still need it." He stated.
"You act as though I'll be over alot."
He looked at me. "I'm hoping you choose to stay forever."
I stop and watched him as he walked. He stopped after he noticed I wasnt following. I hurried up to him before I spoke.
"Just because we are mates doesnt mean we are together."
"A man can dream?" He smiled.
I pushed him, smiling back.
"Young love." An old woman sighed as she walked by with her husband.
I blushed and we turned towards the towels. Picking out a green towel, I threw it in the basket. Damien threw in a blue and purple one.
After we paid and got the stuff in the car, he drove off into the direction of his house.
He ended up paying for everything. To my dismay. But I just smiled and continued on.
An hour and a half later we were pulling up to this giant mansion. It was huge. A rustic looking place. Lights burned in a few windows. It was like a new version of Draculas castle. It was so beautiful. I found it hard to even describe.
"We dont have to hide here. We built it 200 years ago. Away from everyone. It was 1818 when we began to build this. Took us 5 years. We still had-have a house in North Carolina. Still looks the same as it did 200 years ago." He parked swinging out of the car.
"The civil war wasnt until like 1862 i think. How did you know about it if you were all the way over here?" I followed, heading to the trunk.
"My uncle Malcomn was still there. Handling some buisness we had. When the war came around he sent word to us. His son, Geramia, came to get us. Only took him a day to get here." He smiled, before opening the trunk.
"That's impossible no one can get from North Carolina to Alaska in a day." I said shaking my head.
"Not for vampires." He grabbed the bags, shutting the trunk.
"Is that what you mean by not hiding? You all can do things inhuman?"
"Well of course. We are faster, stronger and our senses are better than a human. Here we dont have to hide. I can have a conversation with my father while hes on the opposite side of the house. If i was at some humans house, in the back yard, and I started taking to myself I'd be looked at like I was crazy."
"Your speed?"
"I can be on the other side of the lawn in a second if I wanted."
I smiled, taking the bags from him. "Show me."
He looked at me. Before he disappeared. I looked around. Then spotted him across the yard by the large swan looking fountain. I blinked and he was gone. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around, laughing.
"You're kinda awesome."
"Oh baby, you have no idea." He laughed and headed for the door.
I followed after him.
As we walked in I looked around. The foyer was set with a few chairs. There was a door off to the side and when Damien opened it. I realized it was a coat closet. He continued on after removing his jacket.
The lighting was little electric torches peppering the walls in a straight perfect line. The walls were a light brown with a dark brown trim.
He took me to a large room full of dark colored furniture. The couches were all dark red with a coffee table in the middle. A fire burned in the fire place across from the table. There was a large window on one side of the wall, with a table and two chairs. Damien's sisters, Christine and Britney, who I recognized from school, were sitting there, playing a game of chess.
His father occupied a spot on one of the couches closest to the fire. Another man stood by the fireplace, a cup of golden brown liquid in his hands.
"Ariel! So nice to see you child." Kameran spoke, standing. "I see Damiens talk with you went well."
"Yes." I nodded.
"I need a room set up for her. Shes staying a couple nights."
"Only if that's okay with you." I added
"Of course. But you will stay in Damiens room. You are mates after all."
I looked down awkwardly.
"She hasnt accepted him yet, brother." The man by the fireplace spoke, coming over to them. "I'm Grayson, Damiens Uncle. It's great to finally meet you." He held out his hand.
I took it with a smile, "great to meet you too."
Damien led me to his room after I met everyone i didnt know. He had alot of family.
"I'm not gonna remember everyones name." I said as we walked up the stairs.
"Its fine. Nobody expects you too."
"Good. Cause I've already forgotten all the names."
"Just remember my uncles and you're fine."
"Grayson." I said, I remembered his name. But all the others. I didnt.
"Good." He laughed.
"My room is on the top floor. Away from everyone. I like my privacy." He said as we continued on.
"You guys should invest in an elevator." I panted. This place had 6 floors. And we had only gotten to the 2nd floor. There was alot of stairs.
"Well we dont need an elevator. You're human. So that's why I'm walking up them. Besides vampires dont get out of breath. We dont even need to breathe." He laughed.
I glared at him. My face hot. On the third floor I plopped down in a chair by the window across from the stairs.
He laughed. I'm not fat. But I'm not skinny either. I'm only a size thirteen. But I'm sure by the time I get up to the sixth floor, I'm gonna be a size ten. Like I'm no athlete. I dont work out. I like my donuts.
I huffed as I rested trying to get my breathing under control and my heart rate down.
"You know everyone can hear your heart and your breathing." He laughed.
I glared at him. "Excuse me for being out of breath from these devil stairs. You people are crazy for building all these stairs."
"We didnt intend for any humans to be here."
"Well then." I huffed standing. "Let's continue on."
"Haha, I know a faster way if youd like?"
"What's that?" I raised my eyebrow. I had an idea of what he meant, but hoped he was meaning something else.
"I can carry you and go my way." He smiled.
Yep, exactly what I thought he was going to say.
"Its not going to hurt? Right?"
"No. You'll probably just get a little dizzy after."
"Okay. Then let's go." I said, I had no desire to finish walking these stairs.
He laughed before handing me the bags and lifting me up. He had one arm under my knees and the other on the middle of my back.
"Put your face against me and continue to breath normal. Dont panic or you'll pass out. You'll feel a big rush of wind for a second."
I nodded into him turning my face into his chest. I steadied my breathing, though my heart was pounding in my chest at our closeness. I knew he could hear it, which made me blush.
As he said I felt a rush of air for a second before he stopped and held me for a minute. "You can put me down now." I mumbled, earning a smile.
He set me in the chair by what I assumed as his door. My head spun as soon as I was sitting up right. He steadied me by the shoulders as I tipped forward.
"I told ya. Youd get dizzy after."
"I thought that's why you were holding me for a minute."
"Haha, no. I did that because I didnt want to let you go. You dont feel the dizziness till you were upright."
"Oh." My head settled down.
He opened the door when I stood. I walked in and looked around. At the far left side of the massive room was another door. In the middle of the room was a giant bed. With a dark brown wooden bedpost. At each corner was black fabric, tied in the middle with a golden rope. His sheets looked red from here. To the far right side, there was a couch with a couple chairs. A dark brown side table sat between the chairs. A larger coffee table to match sat in between the couch and chairs. In front was a fireplace.
There were pictures littering the walls. They were different versions of Damien. I spotted one by the door that I liked. It was him in his military uniform when he was in the civil war. It was framed in an old worn down redwood frame.
"I like that one." I put my hand on the corner of the frame.
He smiled. I wandered around his room. Looking at all of his pictures. He had lots on the mantel of him and his family through out the years.
There was one where they were all in ballgowns and tuxedos standing on the stairs leading up to the front door.
It looked to be in the year the civil war began. Only Kameran holding a baby, Angie, Grayson, a woman, Damien, Caleb and a young girl were in it.
"That's britney." I pointed at the young child. He nodded. "And that's chritine." I pointed at the baby.
"Yes."
"Who is that?" I asked, pointing at the woman standing next to Grayson.
"That is Abigail. Graysons wife."
"Where is she? I didnt meet her did i? I dont remeber."
"No. Abigail, shes...." he paused.
"She died?" I gasped.
"No. Shes been in a coma for the past 6 years."
"What? Vampires go into a coma."
"Yes. Well kinda. Being comatose is an easier way to explain it."
"What do you mean?" I asked, walking over to the couch.
"Well, vampires go into this sleep like state when their bodies go through a very traumatic event, Such as humans do, to recuperate." He sat down in the chair across from me, after shutting the door.
"So right now shes recuperating from being hurt really bad." I said, then thought of something. "He can hear us speaking about this, cant he?"
"No. He cant. Every room was built to keep sound in. So that we all cant hear everyones conversations and what not in certain rooms and bedrooms." He smiled. "Anyway, yes. That's basically what is happening. But shes been that way for 6 years now. Normally with what happened to her, it should have only taken her body a year to heal. But as the year became two and two became three, we drew desperate. We searched for a witch to help explain what was wrong with her." He looked at me, a smiled on his face.
"What happened? What was wrong with her?" I leaned forward, fascinated.
"I love this." His smile widened.
"What?" I asked.
"Being able to talk to you like this. Tell you my family history and such. Without fear of rejection or judgement. You not being terrified. Its refreshing. It's perfect. You're perfect."
I blushed at his words. "Continue, what happened to her for her to be comatose in the first place? And why is she still comatose?"
"Okay, okay." He smiled. "We were in North Carolina, checking on our house and Rose. We know she lives there, but she has many different places she "lives". North Carolina has been her home for years. She lived there when she was a human and so she has a place there. It's her home. We didnt know she knew we were there. Apparently theres a coven of witches there. They moved there 10 years ago. Secretly. They are the witches Rose works with. To get her revenge." He paused, " We were cornered on our way back here. A mile away from our home there. They had us surrounded. At the time, Grayson was the only one who was recently mated. They had been together for 2 years before that night. It was my father, Caleb, Grayson, Abigail and myself. She had wanted to see our home there. So Grayson brought her with us. I can tell you now he regrets his decision."
I interrupted him "Of course he does. He probably blames himself a bit for what happened."
He smiled at my words. "You're right. Anyway, we didnt know who they were, until Rose stepped out from behind a huddle of them. I stepped forward putting myself infront of Abigail and Grayson. My father can hear thoughts. He knew what she was planning before any of us. But he was a second too late. The coven as a whole used their magic to hold my father, Caleb, Grayson and myself to the ground. Leaving Abigail defenseless. She tried to run. She knew about Rose, knew what she looked like from pictures. But they had her held down in her spot. Rose-"
"She had the coven take Abigail away from Grayson. Because of what happened to her mate."
He laughed at that, at my interruption. "Yes. That's exactly what she planned. But witches cant kill a vampire with their magic. Only a stake made out of an oak wood tree can kill vampires. So all that happened to Abigail was a state like comatose. That she will never wake up too unless the witches revoke it or die." He finished.
"But they are all too powerful to kill them all." I stated. "But if you started to pick them off one by one. Then Rose will notice and the rest of them would go into hiding."
"Exactly. So we dont have any way to get her back."
"What If I made a deal with Rose. To get Abigail back for Grayson."
Damien shook his head. "No. Theres nothing you could offer Rose that will convince her to revoke the spell."
I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
His eyes widened when he realized what I meant. "No. That's not going to happen. You are not under any circumstance making THAT deal."
"If I offer myself up. Then she will take it. She can put me into the comatose instead."
"Or she could kill you."
"OR. She would force me to reject you. It can be a faked rejection. You know this. It wouldnt be something meant."
He watched me. "You would sacrifice your happiness for Grayson? For a woman you've never met? For a family you just met?"
"If we are really meant to be. If we are really mates and you love me fully and forever. Will do anything for me. Then they are my family too. And I'd do whatever it took to keep my family safe and happy. Even if it costs me something." I met his eyes.
"You really are an incredible woman." He whispered, sliding from the chair to the couch. He took my hands.
"Rose isnt stupid. She wants me in pain if she doesnt see me in pain. Then she will know its faked."
"Rose will see you in pain. Because the words I will use will hurt you even if they aren't meant. But as soon as the spell is revoked, the coven and Rose, needs to die. How we will do that is the question though."
"We have a coven here who can create a binding spell. Making it where they cannot leave a certain space."
"They needn't use magic also." I added.
"Oh we'll make sure of that too. Come let's go speak with the others." He stood taking me with him.
"Wait."
"What?"
"Um.." Shit, dont chicken out now Ariel.
"Ar?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. I thought. Though my stomach filled with the butterfly sensation at his nickname for me.
"Will she be able to tell if we are already mates?" I whispered. But knew he totally heard me.
"If she had her coven of witches create a spell to show if someone is mated to another. Then yes." He spoke coming to stand next to me.
"If we had our witches mask the mating?"
"Then she would never know." He looked at me confusing shown on his face. Before it disappeared."Ar?" He questioned, but smiled.
"If the witches can mask us being mates. If they can mask my acceptance to you. Then I will accept you." I looked him dead in the eyes.
His face lit up. His smile grew and he picked me up twirling me around. Then after setting me back on solid ground, he took my face into his hands and kissed me.
Shocked, I slowly began kissing him back as I recovered.
His lips were warm as they moved over mine. I melted in his arms as he moved a hand to my waist. Pulling me closer. He deepened the kiss, as his tongue entered my mouth and danced with mine. Before I could stop it. I moaned into his mouth from the pure pleasure of his kiss.
Earning a growl he lifted me up in his arms without breaking the kiss. There was a rush of air and then i was being laid down on the bed. My head spun. Whether it was from the kiss or the speed he used to get to the bed quickly. I didnt know. Frankly I didnt care. His lips were still locked to mine as his body moved over me. Lightly pushing me into the bed.
He broke the kiss, to trail light kisses down my neck. He lightly nipped and suckled the place where my pulse beat the hardest.
"You taste so sweet." He whispered in my ear, as he nibbled it. I let out a soft groan.
He trailed back down my neck, then came back up, trailing light kisses across my jaw. Coming back to my lips. He kissed me harder then. Fire burned within me. Pleasure boiling my blood.
"Damien." I softly panted, Breaking off the kiss to breathe.
"You're perfect." He stroked my hair back away from my face.
"We're getting distracted." I whispered.
"Then let's continue. I dont want to think about all of that. I just need you." He pushed his body up against mine. Then trailed suckling kisses down my neck.
"Damien." I gasped in pleasure. "Pplease. Wee need tto sstay fffocuuuuhhhh." I stuttered, then cut off with a groan as he tore my shirt open. Continuing his suckling kisses down my chest. Pleasure running through my whole body, upped into overdrive.
I silently cursed myself for wearing the bra that unclipped in the front. But he never undid it. He just continued his trail down my stomach. As soon as he got to my bellybutton he made his way back up to my lips.
"You smell Devine."
"Wwhhatt?" I gasped.
"The sweet smell of your arousal is overpowering. If I didnt have to be gental with you. We would already be doing what I want to be doing."
My eyes widened. Then I groaned. Who am I kidding. I've had feelings for him for months now. Him making Love to me was the greatest thing I've ever imagined.
"After." I spoke.
"Do we really have to fill everyone in now?" He grumbled in my ear, teasing the skin there.
"Yes."I said, my breath catching.
"Fine." But he didnt move.
"You know you'll need to get me a shirt. Since you ruined mine." I gasped.
He laughed, sitting up. He pulled me up after him.
"You can wear one of mine." He nipped my ear. "And when we go to bed, you'll be wearing only my shirt."
I looked at him, eyes wide. He just smiled and kissed my lips. Before disappearing and reappearing by the door. Opening it,he revealed a closet within. With another door next to the one opened. He grabbed a shirt, then came back over to me. Putting it on me, he then swept me off my feet and sped down stairs. Giving me .1 second to hide my face.
