The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa )

Chapter 32

Chapter 32

“I’m not amazing,” Lucas replied humbly, “I’m far behind compared to Leonard.”

“Lucas, you’re quite modest,” Lisa muttered to herself.

‘What else does Leonard have going for him besides his ability to make money?’

Then Lisa asked Lucas, “Have you had breakfast?”

“No, I haven’t”

“Do you want to have something to eat?” Lisa politely said, “The breakfast here is quite delicious.”

“Sure,” Lucas said smilingly. He was about to sit when Leonard grabbed and swiftly pulled him outside.

“Forget about breakfast. Come with me. I have something to tell you,” Leonard said while dragging Lucas along.

“I’ll see you next time, Liz.” Lucas had already given Lisa a nickname.

Lisa waved while muttering about how rude Leonard was. Meanwhile, Lucas had such a mild temperament. Only someone like him could endure Leonard’s personality.

Leonard dragged Lucas into the courtyard and finally let go.

“What’s wrong? I rushed over without having breakfast just to see you. Aren’t you being excessive?” Lucas said, observing Leonard’s complexion.

‘Tsk According to Quince, Leonard didn’t even have a blanket to cover himself last night.’

Lucas had expected to find his friend freezing from the cold.

Leonard sneered. “Do you think I’m clueless? You only came here to watch the fun.”

“No, I just wanted to see who could embarrass-cough, I mean, I came to see your arrogant wife who embarrassed your sister -in-law,” Lucas said, struggling to hold back his laughter.

“I didn’t expect to have already met her. I have to say your wife is quite beautiful. She’s such a delicate and lovely girl. Maybe you’re being too harsh on her.”

“I’m harsh on her?” Leonard’s face darkened. “Lucas, you’re attracted to her beauty, and it’s clouding your mind. Let me remind you that she’s my wife.”

“Well, aren’t you going to divorce her eventually?” Lucas rubbed his chin. “Her appearance aligns well with my taste. I thought I could try pursuing her once you two get divorced. You wouldn’t mind, right?”

Leonard felt an overwhelming urge to kick his childhood friend, with whom he had always gotten along well. “As a friend, I advise you to stay away from her. Her personality utterly differs from her appearance. This woman has a volatile temper and lacks manners. She’s far inferior to the socialites in Queenston.”

“I don’t think so. I think I can get along with Lisa just fine. She even warmly invited me to have breakfast just now,” Lucas

said with a smile.

Leonard fell silent. He narrowed his eyes dangerously, feeling offended. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Don’t be angry.” Lucas smiled. “Sometimes, the way people treat you reflects how you treat them. If you treat her poorly, she’ll respond similarly. You probably don’t treat her well since you told her to get lost in the middle of the night. Who’d enjoy the cold shoulder?”

Leonard froze. He realized he had not treated Lisa very well. Perhaps he thought she was greedy and had ulterior motives.

Lucas scanned Leonard’s expression and patted his shoulder. “Did you see how Lisa treated me just now? She even smiled warmly at me.”

He suddenly felt a cold wind blowing,

the latter sent chills down Luc a s’s spine.

“Stay away from Lisa,” Leonard warned and turned to walk away.
