Chapter Chapter Thirty- Eight
Walla’s stomach woke her with hunger, she drifted her eyes to the woman by her side. She smiled a little seeing Clarinne still asleep.
Walla kissed Clarinne’s cheek before carefully climbing out of bed, she stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her.
Crowe smiled up at Walla as the head nurse wondered down the hallway “She’ll be fine, Walla.”
Walla glanced at the door before shifting her attention to Crowe “I know she will.” She sighed “Uh, if Clarinne wakes just tell her that I’ve gone to get some food. I’ll be back to see how she is a little later.”
Crowe nodded “Walla.”
“Hm.” Walla kept her attention on Crowe.
“Is it over?”
Walla shrugged slightly “Is anything ever really over?” She sighed before slowly walking away from Crowe.
Crowe could tell that Walla struggled to believe her own words; she could tell the young woman struggled to find hope in safety just like everyone else in the village.
