The Luna's Hidden Destiny

The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 43

(Mila)

I still felt slightly uneasy about everything that happened with my dad but I couldn’t help the excitement that was bubbling up. I was going to go out to dinner, at a real restaurant! I was so excited and couldn’t wait to eat with my new friends.

Glancing over at Rowan I couldn’t help but blush. He was looking especially handsome today as he wore a grey long-sleeve shirt with black slacks and boots. His silver hair was slicked back and curled down to his ears. I couldn’t believe he was mine..just remembering what he did made butterflies fill my stomach. I couldn’t deny that Bain was rough, but I didn’t think of it as cruel rough…I thought of it as he wanted me so bad he couldn’t control himself.

‘That’s right darling, we make our mate wild.’

Calypso purred as she licked her paw leisurely. Luckily we got enough rest that we were both in full health again.

Just then I felt my arm pulse..it wasn’t hurting it was almost like a reminder. Lucius had left a scar from what he did. It was subtle and barely visible but it was still there. That will be something that lives with me for the rest of my life. The way he lunged at me and pulled me like I was nothing.

Just then a shiver ran through me and I heard Calypso whimper.

‘Let’s not think about it tonight.’

I agreed with her..this was supposed to be a fun night.

Rowan grabbed a grey suede jacket for himself and a white one for me. After slipping his on, he stepped next to me and helped me put on my own, his lips kissing my forehead as he buttoned it up slowly. I couldn’t help but smile as he looked at me curiously.

“What?” He asked, finishing the last button.

“Nothing..you’re just cute.” I said, burying my face into his chest as I hugged him tightly.

“Cute?” He sounded appaled.

“Yeah…cute.” I beamed at him as he laughed.

“Well..don’t go spreading that around. Might tarnish my Alpha reputation.” He quipped, picking me up swiftly and prompting me to wrap my legs around his waist.

“Okay, let’s go. Blake and Tristan are down in the car.” He suddenly began walking and I pulled back slightly.

“Rowan..we can’t walk like this down there.” I said, trying to wriggle out of his hold.

“We can and we will.” He said firmly as he walked past the doors and I noticed Ian was waiting there for us.

I smiled awkwardly and then hid my face against Rowan’s chest. At least he tucked my dress under my butt so no one could see my underwear.

Ian tried to hold in his smile but faltered as soon as he spoke.

“Alpha, Luna.” He said happily and walked into the elevator with us. He quickly pushed the button and the doors closed.

“Thank you..” I spoke softly, trying not to make eye contact as Rowan looked down at me with a smirk.

“I forgot to tell you, Ian will be your personal guard from now on.” He said without breaking our gaze.

I blinked up at him, wondering why I needed a guard..maybe they were worried since the rogue was here in the cells.

I just nodded my head and smiled at Ian. Suddenly a low growl left Rowan, his hand gripping my chin as he turned my head to look at him once more.

“Mila, please don’t smile at another man like that..it might make me regret my decision.” He said between clenched teeth and I looked into his eyes, seeing them flash black. I knew Rowan was jealous but Bain was even worse.

I just nodded my head resting against his chest once more. I didn’t know what to feel about that. Could smiling at someone really be that bad? Maybe it will get better as time goes on..it’s probably just because of how new our mating bond is. I have noticed Rowan growing more and more possessive each day.

The doors opened up and Ian walked out swiftly, as soon as we walked into the hall I heard the clicking of heels as they hurried towards us.

‘Here we go.’

Rowan linked to me and I turned my head seeing Laura rushing towards us.

“Mila, oh goddess…I have been so worried about you.” She said, not even caring that Rowan was holding me as she wrapped her arms around my back.

“I’m okay Laura, I promise.” I said smiling, trying to get down as Rowan held me firmly.

“Son really? You can’t let me hug her properly.” Laura said frowning as she looked at his tightening grip.

“No.” He said firmly, and I frowned at him.

“Fine, I get time with her when you get back then.” She said just as firmly and I tried to get down once more.

Rowan growled, gripping my butt tightly and causing me to yelp.

“Mila, I will be up when you get home, find me then okay?” She said with a sympathetic smile and I felt bad. I nodded my head, waving goodbye as Rowan walked us out to the car.

“Rowan, I can at least hug your mom..” I whispered, looking into his eyes.

He stared down at me, his hand reaching up at he brushed my hair to the side. His light blue eyes now flashing black and glowing, showing me that Bain was forcing his way to the front.

“Pretty little mate..you are mine, I get to decide who gets to touch you, remember that..” he growled towards me, his lips snarling as a knot formed in my stomach.

I reached my hand up, my palm pressing against his cheek.

‘I need to come out soon Mila, mate is becoming too restless. What happened might of been too much. We should never have ran ahead.’

Calypso spoke softly. She was right..running ahead and getting ambushed like that didn’t help Bain’s possessive and protective nature, it only made it worse. So far he has been making more of an appearance than ever before.

“You are all I want, I promise. I just want to spend time with your family too, that is all.” I said reassuringly, Rowan’s eyes still black as he leaned down towards me. His lips took mine roughly as Bain kissed me desperately. His teeth came out and bit my l*p, the taste of b***d filling my mouth as he slid his tongue inside of me.

“Okay little mate, but I stay near you at all times.” He growled once more and I nodded my head, reaching up and kissing him sweetly.

Opening my eyes I noticed Rowan’s eyes turned light blue, his hands stroking my back gently as he now continued to walk towards the car.

“I love you.” I whispered, seeing a slight hesitation in his eyes. My words calmed him instantly as he kissed my brow.

“We should let our wolves out tonight. I think they need it.” I said as Rowan finally set me down on the ground. Donovan the same driver as before bowed stifly and opened the car door for us.

“I think you are right, Bain needs to see Calypso.” He said wrapping his arms around my waist as he helped me into the car.

“Hey..there’s our girl!” Blake said excitedly and I couldn’t help but smile. I could feel Rowan tense as he slid in next to me, buckling my seat belt, and then swiftly placed his hand on my thigh.

“Hey guys, thanks for letting me come with you.” I said softly, glancing toward Rowan as he stared at me intently. Why was he so on edge?

“Of course, you are one of us now Mil, plus Rowan is paying…so.” he quipped and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“I thought you said you were paying Blake?” Tristan added a touch of humor in his voice.

“No…I said I was feeling so good I MIGHT just buy you a drink. I never said anything about paying.” He said winking at me as I smiled and shook my head.

“Oh I have an idea, we get the other Alpha to pay. Yeah, that’s a better idea.” Blake said excitedly and Tristan nodded in agreement.

“Mil you are going to love this place, they have these huge drinks with all different colors in them. And the food is pretty great, we usually get the steak but you can have whatever you feel like.” Blake said excitedly and I looked at Rowan, with a smile on my lips and he just pulled me closer to him, his face stern and lacking emotion.

‘Is everything okay?’

I asked him softly and he glanced down at me.

‘Yeah, just trying not to punch Blake in the face.’

He said roughly and I reached out, gripping his hand tightly.

‘Well..if you can go all night without punching him in the face…maybe I can reward you..’

I linked slyly, his eyes flashing towards mine now, a spark of excitement filling him.

‘Reward me how?’

He asked breathlessly.

‘Maybe something I have wanted to try.’

My tongue slipped out, gently gliding across my bottom l*p as I glanced down toward Rowan’s now bulging pants.

‘F**k Mila..’

He gasped in the mind link, his hand gripping my thigh tighter as I leaned in, giving him a quick peck, and pulled away.

“Hey Mil, we should get you in the ring soon. I’m interested in seeing your moves. Tristan was saying he wanted to go up against you. See what you got.” He said while nudging Tristan who instantly turned red while Rowan growled.

“I…I didn’t say that…I just meant I noticed how fast Calypso was and I bet you have that kind of speed in the ring..and well..” he said babbling as I couldn’t help but laugh.

‘You didn’t say anything about punching Tristan.’

Rowan growled loudly, causing me to glare at him.

‘No punching anyone.’

I quipped back.

“I would love to..it’s been weird not training these last two weeks. I used to do it every day. I might need to do a pretty good warm-up beforehand though.” The thought of going in the ring and training thrilled me. It was something I was used to, that I knew how to do.

“Yeah, maybe we can do it tomorrow afternoon. If that’s okay with you Alpha.” Tristan said, clearing his throat.

Rowan glanced at me and I looked at him eagerly. This is just what I need, a way to get some frustration out.

‘Is this what you want?’

He asked me quickly in the mind link and I nodded my head.

‘Yes please.’

I said excitedly, leaning into his side as I batted my eyelashes at him. He couldn’t help but smile and grab my chin gently. His lips pressed against mine as he spoke softly.

“Okay, but no hand-on-hand combat. Do you understand me gamma?” He looked in the back seat and Tristan nodded his head smiling.

I looked at Rowan happily, his lips still close to mine as he leaned in, kissing me gently.

‘Thank you.’

I whispered into the mind link and smiled against his lips.

“Ugh…you two are too much.” Blake g*****d, sitting back in his seat.

“Next time I say we leave the Alpha at home.” He said teasingly and Rowan growled, jerking his head back to glare at him.

Blake just smiled widely and I shook my head, looking out the window as the most beautiful sight came into view. It was now dark and all of the buildings and streets were lit up with Christmas lights. I gasped, the sight so breathtaking as I looked outside. Rowan’s hands wrapped around my waist, his head bending down as he whispered against my ear.

“Do you like them?” He asked breathlessly.

“It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.” I meant it too, all of the twinkling lights, the people walking the streets with their friends and families, all bundled up.

This was like something straight out of a movie. Something so beautiful that it seemed to warm me from the inside out. I couldn’t help the smile that pulled on my face as I turned to Rowan, my arms wrapping around his neck as I spoke softly.

“Thank you..thank you for showing me what it’s like.” I said with emotion as he pulled back, his hand resting on my cheek.

“What what’s like?” He looked at me curiously.

“What it’s like to actually live.” The words fell from my lips and I could feel Blake and Tristan staring at me.

I hadn’t realized what my life was like before all of this..how sheltered and protected I had been. I never thought I would see half of this stuff. I thought I would live in the cabin the rest of my life until the day I died. Rowan truly saved me..he saved me from that prison I used to call home.
