Chapter 34
I opened my eyes and looked around. This wasn't my room, in fact it didn't look like it was even part of the house. The decoration was completely different. Instead of the pack colours of teal and grey everything in the room was decorated in burgundy with gold accents and looked as though it was over a hundred years old.
My head was pounding as I sat up in bed. The more I tried to focus on my surroundings and work out where I was the more my head hurt. I had no idea what was going on, I had a few drinks last night but not enough to explain this headache and how did I even get here?
"Don't panic sweetheart, it can be a little disorientating the first time."
I looked over to where the voice was coming from to see Arthur standing beside the bed. My heart started beating faster as the adrenaline flooded my system. I pulled the covers up to my neck to put a barrier between the two of us. "What the fuck is going on? Where am I? Why am I here? Where is Elijah?" I screamed.
A smile came across Arthur's face as I spoke which only served to annoy me more. Why did he seem to be so amused by this? I wanted to wrap my hands around his neck and squeeze but that would mean I would have to get a lot closer to him than I really wanted to. So I settled for glaring at him.
"That was a lot of questions, where do I start?" He asked, grinning at me.
He was acting as though this was normal, like this was just a regular chat over coffee. He sat down beside me in the bed. He was much too close for comfort but I couldn't seem to make myself move. It felt as though I was being held in place by an invisible force.
"None of this is real. I am inside of your mind and this is all a product of my imagination. I hoped that I would get more of a chance to speak to you earlier but I guess this will have to do" Arthur said as he reached out towards me. I tried to move away from his hand but it was useless, I couldn't move. I was forced to sit there while he caressed my cheek softly. I closed my eyes and tried to pretend that this wasn't happening to me. "You have no idea how long I have waited for you." Arthur whispered, I could feel his warm breath against my ear.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"We are special, we are a subspecies of werewolf and there aren't many of us left. My mate died before she even reached her eighteenth birthday and I have been looking for an appropriate chosen mate ever since." He replied. "How long?" I asked.
I was stuck here so I may as well talk to him, at least that way he might stop touching me. I shuddered at the thought of what he could do to me while I was stuck in this state. With a newfound sense of determination I opened my eyes and looked at him.
"Almost thirty years." He started.
He didn't look much older than me but then again ages were deceiving for werewolves. Our increased healing stopped the ageing process, sometimes our hair would go grey due to stress but it didn't normally stay like that for long. He could easily be over one hundred years old and I wouldn't be able to tell.

"At one stage I thought your mom was going to be my chosen mate but things didn't work out between us." He sounded a little sad.
"What happened?" I asked. Arthur smiled at me, liking that I was taking an interest in his life.
"I tried to take her by force but I learnt from my mistakes. You will come to me of your own free will, even if I have to wait another thirty years." He smiled at me.
I was sure that in his warped mind he was being romantic but honestly this is the most messed up thing I had ever heard. He couldn't have my mom so he was going to have me, how could that ever be romantic?
"I have a mate, we could never be together." I told him. I expected him to get upset or annoyed but he just laughed at me instead. After a few seconds he leaned in close to me.
"You can keep him, he can be your little pet. I don't care as long as you rule by my side and take me as your chosen mate." He whispered in my ear.
"I think you need to get some self respect," I replied, rolling my eyes. He giggled slightly then started running his tongue lightly over my ear. I shuddered in repulsion but the idiot mistook it for desire. I felt his lips turn upwards against my face. His hands snaked around my waist as he pulled himself closer to me.
"I didn't realise you were so funny, you really are perfect." He said, practically purring at me. I wanted to laugh at his expense but I was worried he would mistake that for some form of seduction. Instead I stayed completely still and emotionless, perhaps that way he might realise that I am not enjoying this as much as he is.
He kissed and nibbled my ear for a few seconds before he started to explore. His lips started to make their way along my jawline while his hands moved upwards towards my breasts. This wasn't good, I wasn't sure how far he would be willing to take this but I didn't want to sit here and wait to find out.
I renewed my efforts to shake him away. My limbs didn't seem to want to move but as I increased my fight I could feel a pain in the front of my head. The pain got stronger as I fought against my invisible restraints.
"You have no idea how lonely I have been without you," Arthur whispered moments before his lips made contact with mine. His tongue traced the outline of my lips. He expected me to open my mouth and let him use his tongue on me, that was not going to happen. My face was the only thing I seemed to still have full control of and I was not going to let him do what he wanted with me.
After a few more seconds Arthur finally removed his lips from mine. There was hurt in his eyes as he looked at me but it only lasted for a few seconds before it was replaced with something else, lust. I felt my invisible restraints pushing me down so I was laying on the bed beside him.
"If you don't want to kiss me then I am sure we can find something else to do," he said.
I didn't wait to find out what it might be, I closed my eyes and screamed as loudly as I could.
"Diana, honey, what's wrong?"
I opened my eyes to see I was back in my room. Elijah was holding me in his arms, I was pressed against his chest and he was stroking my hair. The sense of relief I felt at that moment was almost overwhelming. Tears started to form in my eyes as I buried my face into Elijah's chest.
"I guess it was just a bad dream but it felt so real. Arthur was there and he was trying to force himself on me," I said sobbing into Elijah's chest.
