Chapter The Way Out

“I’m gonna have to use my powers to light up the torch in my hands,” said Cyra. Cyra raises her pyrokinesis powers in her hands and makes a fireball to use as a torch. “Whoa!” said Gabriel, amazed by Cyra’s pyrokinesis. “Fascinating, huh?” said Cyra. “I’m… amazed,” said Gabriel.

As Cyra looks for the path, she sees the doorway covered with spiderwebs. “There’s a doorway, maybe it’s the way out of the underground,” said Cyra before she goes towards it. “And it’s covered with spiderwebs, I can’t go to the doorway, I’m scared of spiders,” said Emily, nervous. “Emily, don’t be scared. I’m sure I got the fire to burn the webs down, Stand back,” said Cyra.

Emily and Gabriel stood back. “Please be my shield, Gabriel!” said Emily, wrapping Gabriel’s muscular arm with her hands tight. Gabriel hesitated with awkwardness. Cyra shoots her fire at the spider web blockage, burning the spiderwebs and the spiders, and clearing the doorway. “See, everything’s all clear,” said Cyra.

Cyra, Gabriel, and Emily go into the doorway and go to the straight path. “Hey, Cyra, your companion is hugging all over me and I don’t know what’s gotten into her,” said Gabriel as they were walking. “Emily, snap out of it. I know he’s handsome, but we gotta find a way out immediately,” said Cyra. “Oh, sorry,” said Emily, snapping herself out of it and patting his shoulder. Emily giggled a little bit.

“Emily’s into handsome men, sorry about her,” said Cyra. “Yeah, it’s true,” said Emily. “No need to apologize, Cyra,” said Gabriel.

As they were walking through the hallway in the underground, Cyra discovers three doors in the underground. “There’s more than one door, which one is the way out?” said Emily. “I don’t know… Let’s go to the first door,” said Cyra.

Cyra opened the first door, they entered the room where they discovered the secret astronomer’s room. “This is the…” said Emily. “I think this is the room where the astronomer studied,” said Cyra.

“What’s that in the bookshelf over there?” said Gabriel, discovering something in the bookshelf. Cyra goes to the bookshelf to investigate as she, Gabriel, and Emily go into the room. “There’s a lot of dust in here,” said Emily, fanning away the dust with her hand.

Cyra pulled out one of the books from the shelf and opened it, she discovered the letter that was written in symbols: the sun, the moon, the lightning, the lion, and the sunflower. “These are the five symbols in the paper, someone must’ve written it a long time ago,” said Cyra. “This must be the code,” said Gabriel. “Is there anything else to investigate?” said Emily. “We might look around some more,” said Cyra.

The trio began to look around for clues. Emily sneezes, due to the dust in the room. “Bless you,” said Cyra and Gabriel. “Thanks,” said Emily.

Gabriel discovers the small box on the desk, he picks it up in his hand. “Cyra, Emily, I found a small box,” said Gabriel as he showed the box to the girls. “What’s inside?” asked Emily. “I certainly don’t know,” said Gabriel. “Only the way to find out,” said Cyra. “Maybe we could take it with us when we get back to the camp?” said Emily. “Great idea,” said Cyra. Gabriel gives Cyra the box, and Cyra places it inside her bag. “What’s that on the ground?” said Gabriel. “This must be the basement,” said Cyra. “It looks like it needs a key,” said Emily. “Maybe, this one will open it,” said Cyra as she pulls out the key from her bag. Cyra uses the key from her mentor’s office to unlock the basement, it fits, Cyra turns the key and it is unlocked.

“It fits,” said Cyra. Cyra opened the basement, they entered the basement before Cyra lit up with her pyrokinesis for them to see something clear in the dark.

“Geez, it’s dark in this basement.” Said Emily. “Keep close, guys, if something’s lurking in the basement,” said Cyra. As they explored the path of the basement underground, they discovered the 6 sunstone towers on the pedestal. “The sunstone tower crystals,” said Gabriel. “We found them,” said Emily. “The Silver Knights and I were looking for them for a long time, but we didn’t know they were hidden underground,” said Gabriel. “You were with the Silver Knights that caught us?” said Emily, shocked. “It’s true, yes,” said Gabriel.

Cyra picks one of them up in her hand, examining the sunstone towers. “Sunstone is a crystal that cleanses negative energy and brings good luck and fortune. It clears all 7 chakras, allowing the real self to shine,” said Cyra. “So, that’s what the sunstone does?” said Emily. “Yep,” said Cyra. “I feel like I’m spiritual now,” said Emily.

“Let’s take them, so no one can find where they are,” said Gabriel. Cyra agrees with Gabriel, so she collects the towers and puts them into her bag. As they were about to leave, they heard a growling sound. Gabriel pulls out his sword to be prepared, while Cyra raises her pyrokinesis in her and Emily becomes scared. “What was that?” said Emily, in a quiet tone. Gabriel shushed, while they were hearing the growling noise. “It sounded like a bear, I got you covered, Emily,” whispered Cyra. “Bears are vicious animals, some people were killed by those,” said Gabriel.

As they were looking around to see what was growling in the dark, the big black bear approached with a sneaky movement. “Oh my god! It’s a black bear!” whispered Emily, shocked and scared. “I never seen a bear before in my life,” said Cyra.

Gabriel goes toward the black bear with the sword, defending Cyra and Emily. “Sir Gabriel!” shouted Cyra. Gabriel fights the black bear with the sword, while the girls watch the fight. The black bear knocks Gabriel to the ground, pinning him while roaring at him and Gabriel defends himself from the black bear with his sword. Cyra lights up her shining, flaming power at the black bear’s sight, blinding the black bear and defeating it.

Gabriel watches the bear being knocked out by Cyra’s shining fire and then looks at her. “How did you do that?” asked Gabriel. “The light just came up in my fire, I had to save your life,” said Cyra. “Let’s get out of here before something else lurks around,” said Emily.

The trio leaves the basement, Cyra closes the basement door and they leave the room. They entered the room where they discovered the ritual, so they hid behind the arches so that they wouldn’t get caught by the red-hooded guardians with crow-like masks.

“Who are these people?” whispered Emily. “Those are the Red Crows, they’re connected to Dominic. They’re performing black magic in the ritual for him as well,” whispered Gabriel. “Black magic?” whispered Emily, confused. “Evil, dark magic,” whispered Cyra.

The Red Crows summoned the black flames in the cauldron, the bats flew around their dark magic, and the clouds in the flames summoned the flammable-holographic Dominic. “Greetings, Red Crows. It is I, Dominic, the evil wizard of all,” said Dominic in the black fire.

“Dominic!” whispered Cyra. “The other day, we have our bait for our darkness. The one who is the powerful, magical witch who is living in the real world, and now she’ll be trapped in our darkness forever when we destroy Gold Meadow as soon as possible in the next few days. We plan to find the treasures they kept in the past and we will use them for our evil magic, and we will rule the whole world,” said Dominic.

As the trio watched the ritual, Emily accidentally knocked over the jar from the shelf, the jar dropped and shattered into pieces. “Emily!” whispered Gabriel and Cyra. The Red Crows heard the shattering jar, they spotted the trio and then the trio began to run away before the Red Crows began to chase them. The trio leaves the ritual room, they open the door in a straight path.

“This way!” said Gabriel, talking to Cyra and Emily while they were running from the Red Crows. They headed to the right path of the underground tunnel, then the left pathway until they finally found the way out. “Look, there’s a way out of the underground!” said Cyra.

The trio headed to the light, they ran as fast as they could. Until finally, they got out of the underground and returned to the Gold Meadow forest.

Cyra uses her pyrokinesis to block the way out so that the Red Crows cannot chase them any longer. And so the Red Crows went back to the room underground. They pant after they escaped from the underground. “That was close,” said Cyra, panting and breathing. “So close,” said Emily. “At least, we got the towers,” said Gabriel, breathing heavily. “Let’s get back to the camp,” said Cyra. “I’m coming to join,” said Gabriel.
