(Book 3) – Chapter 5
Chapter 5
“Ryder..RYDER.” I heard being screamed in my ear. I slapped out to shut up whoever was yelling at me.
“Damnit Ryder. Move Alistair.” Melissa huffed as she shoved him out of the way. The next second I feel ice cold water being poured on my chest.
“Wha…t..the…..ffffff? I screeched as I sat up.
“Witches and vampires are in the forest on the south and north side.” Alistair threw my bag on the bed. “Get dressed. We have to go.”
‘s**t. The guys are trying to link but from the feel of their wolves they just want to make you stay here. Did they learn nothing?’ Blue rolled her eyes.
‘Just let them in so we can get passed this now and be able to keep in touch if we are attacked.’ I got dressed and waited for the guys to start in.
‘Ryder, stay your a*s in that house,’ Andrew demanded.
‘Please stay safe and inside. I can’t lose you or the twins,’ Asher begged.
‘Let us take care of this. Your place is keeping yourself and the twins safe,’ Blake explained.
‘If you come out please be safe. I would love it if you joined me so we could keep an eye on each other,’ Koda pleaded. He was the sweetest of the gang.
‘Don’t suck up. She is not allowed out of the house,’ Andrew roared over the rest of them.
‘Shut up, Andrew. You are pushing her farther away. We want her safe but not controlled,’ Kane yelled. I heard Knox agree.
‘Are you all done?’ I linked before they could all start back in. ‘Good. Koda and the twins can join me at the FRONT of the line. I need to see what these asshats want and it will be easier to use my powers if I can sense where they are. The others can take the other wall. I would prefer not to see your faces until you can understand I am not an object or a paid employee.’
I cut the link between Andrew, Asher, Edgar, and Blake. If they needed me they could contact the others. I found Alistair kissing Melissa good-bye. She was staying in the house but you could tell it pissed her off. She wasn’t staying because he told her too which makes me jealous of their relationship. He just asked since her magic has been messing up. She agreed and told us to send any of the others who aren’t fighting to stay with her. We agreed and headed out.
The guys joined us as we headed to the South wall. The warriors mentioned there were more of them on that side and that it seemed the leaders where waiting in the middle for something. Probably me or Sandra, the Alpha, to try to tell us we will lose and we should hand over what they wanted. They didn’t know we don’t take demands from psychos. There were about three hundred warriors wrapped around this side of the pack lands.
“Get the hell up here, Princess.” Sandra paced making sure to keep her eyes on the enemy in front of us. “They wish to speak to you. They have a message from the leaders of their little group.”
I laughed huffing my pregnant a*s to the front. I was about out of breath but I had to hide it or the guys would be up my a*s. I smiled at the warriors as I passed them. They needed to stay calm and so did it.
I looked around and saw about thirty people in their group. It was a mixed bag between Vamps, witches, and some rogue wolves. None of them seemed too powerful so I was betting this was a test run.
‘Do not engage. If we have to fight don’t go full force. This is a test for them to see what they would need to defeat us.’ I linked the warriors. ‘Keep an eye out for anyone trying to get passed us. They want to know our inner workings which means they don’t have as many spies here as I thought. This is a good thing.’
‘So if they attacked we just hurt them enough to scare them back?’ Gamma Greg asked.
‘No. If they attack, we KILL them. No use giving them time to recoup and letting them help in another fight against us.’ I growled out. The pack replied in agreement.
A guy wearing tight black pants, an unbuttoned black dress shirt, and eyeliner covering his eyes took a few steps toward us. He had a smirk on his face like he knew something we didn’t which normally would have me blowing my top but I couldn’t do that with this being a life or death situation.
“You done with your pack meeting? If so I have a message for you from the Vampires and our leader.” His voice was sickeningly sweet and make me feel the urge to vomit. It was like an unwanted sugar high.
“Are you done being an asshat or is that something we will have to deal with the rest of this conversation?” Sandra tried to take a step forward, but Samuel stopped her. I had to hold back a laugh at what she said.
“b***h, he wasn’t speaking to you.” The witch had been standing by said as she stepped up beside him. She looked so little that it reminded me of Chucky with him looking like a doll to cuddle and then turned into a b***d thirsty demon doll. She even had the short fire red hair. “He has an ultimatum for the princess here and we already know how it will go so don’t even try anything.” She joined the vamp in smirking.
“Ok, lay it out for us. I may surprise you.” I shrugged nonchalantly and kept my face blank.
“It seems the Vampires are more lenient that the witches. They agreed that if you chose our side, mated a few of our more powerful vampires, and let them breed you giving us hybrids then we wouldn’t kill all the wolves off!” He exclaimed clapping his hands in excitement. “Just about sixty percent of them and the others can be our b***d bags.”
The witch giggled jumping up and down like it was the best thing she ever heard. My mates and the rest of the pack were not in agreement. Their rage was coming off them so strong it almost my legs buckle beneath me.
‘Blue these two are crazy. I bet that is why they were sent with a s**t offer and part of the test run at us.’ Blue said as she got ready to push forward and connecting every wolf’s link. ‘I want some of this. Get ready for b***d shed. Telling me to be a breeder pushed this wolf too far.’
“Well, what do you say? If you say yes they said I could test drive you first.” The vamp looked me up and down licking his fangs. Yuck.
“I want to join. I’ve never had a princess before.” The witch begged him and he nodded. Double yuck.
“Sadly, that would be a no.” I gave them a small, sad smile. “I have a counteroffer. Would you be a gem and go back with it for us?”
They both looked a bit confused. The vampire nodded yes while hushing the witch. I just smiled.
“Ok, so here is my offer. Tell your leaders slit their own throats to save me the trouble.” I didn’t regret saying it even though I knew
we were about to fight.
The witch shook her head and walked back to the group. The vamp just looked at me before flashing his teeth and growling. He made a jump at me but he didn’t make it. Koda caught him by his throat, shoved his hand into his chest, and ripped out the b***d sucker’s heart. The witch gasped before sending in the troops.
‘Lets kick some a*s.’ I send the link and shove some of my power into the ground pushing the grass to rise up and grab onto some of the witches.
Their magic stopped as they were figuring out what the hell happened. I kept the grass growing in strength as I turned my attention to the vampires. They were so damn fast that they were running circles around my wolves. Blue growled shoving power toward a runaway vamp who was focused on getting into the camp. She heated his b***d until he exploded all over a few nearby fighters.
They didn’t even notice.
“Leaving yourself wide open, huh?” The vamp leader whispered in my ear after he snuck up on me.
“F**k..” I turn around and face him head on.
“GET AWAY FROM MY MATE YOU B***D SUCKING PSYCHO!” Koda screamed from several feet away. He was fighting a witch and vampire combo who looked like they fought together often.
He chuckled, dragging his finger across my chin. “Have you checked on your family since we got here? It would be shame if someone got ahold of that beautiful witch of a mother or your weak human father.”
I slapped his hand away and shoved he back before looking around me. “What did you do?” I looked back at him pleading.
“Awe, I am smarter than you think. I know if I told you I would be dead and you would still save them.” He put his hands in his pockets before winking at me. “It was just something to think about since family is so big to you wolves and you seem to keep getting more and more loyal ‘family’.” He ran off and started to attack a group of wolves.
‘WHO HAS EYES ON ANY OF MY FAMILY?’ I linked every wolf.
