The Last Royal Luna

(Book 3) – Chapter 13

I woke up to voices all around me and the smell of my mother. She must be the one closest to me talking and holding my hand. I tried to open my eyes but it was like they were glued shut.

‘Blue, are we ok? The babies?’ I linked her as I tried to feel around for injuries.

‘The babies are fine but they are ready to be born. We need to fight and find a way to wake up.’ Blue pleaded. She sounded a bit distant.

‘Blue? Are you ok?’ I whimpered doing my best to stay calm. ‘I don’t know how to get my eyes open. I need to know what is going on but I can feel myself starting to freak out!’

I felt the tears hit my cheek and tried to open my eyes again but nothing. I tried to focus on each body part and put all my effort into moving them but still nothing. The only thing I could do was move my chest from breathing and have tears fall from my eyes.

“Ryder..Ry…RYDER!” My mother screamed, squeezing my hand harder. “Someone get the doctor. She has tears on her face and I can feel her distress. HURRY!” I heard someone rush out the door before she started rubbing all over my arms.

“I don’t feel anything coming off of her,” someone said as they got closer to check out what my mother had said. “Maybe you need to take a few minutes to yourself and then come back in so we can discuss the next step since she’s not waking up.”

“I know my daughter’s waking up I can feel her confusion,” She snarked at them before laying her head on my chest.

The door slammed open causing mom to whip her head off me. I heard footsteps getting louder and my mother actually shaking from her nerves. The next thing I felt someone’s cold as ice hands touching me on my neck and arms. The shock of that almost pushed me to wake up.

“Who said she was waking up? Did she do anything to show some response?” The doctor asked as they felt my pulse and made a tsking noise.

“I did. Don’t you see the tears on her face? How much stronger her pulse is?” My mother asked with a bit of hysterics in her voice.

“Ma’am we all want her to wake up. We all need her to wake up.” The doctor spoke in a quiet, condescending voice. “There’s nothing here showing that she’s ready to wake up..”

“So, you all want to disregard a mother’s bond and intuition concerning her child?” She interrupted him. “If you’re not going to do anything I’ll figure out how to help my daughter wake up so that she can be experience the birth of her children.” I felt her rage pulse through her. It made me wish I could take the doctor’s head off.

“You’re not touching our patient. You don’t even have any medical training with werewolves.” The doctor yelled. “Someone needs to get this woman out of here so we can figure out how soon we need to do a c-section.”

f**k that. I screamed ‘No’ in my head over and over pushing with everything in me but still nothing. Please let me wake up. I want to see my mom. I want to be here when my babies take their first breath. The frustration was eating at my soul.

“You don’t talk to Ryder’s mother like that! Get out and get us a different doctor before I tell Ryder’s alpha mates!” Heath yelled at the doctor. His standing up for my mother amazed me and gave him so many bonus points. It also helped calm me down a bit knowing she had back up.

“I may not have training with werewolves but I’m a witch who deals with magic. Werewolves are magical creatures because they go from human to Wolf in a magical transformation. My daughter is royalty which means that she has powers, magical powers. Since I control magic as a witch I think I know what I can do and when to step back. I’m going to see what I can do to wake my daughter up and you’re going to get another doctor in here in case I need help or for when she does wake up and needs something. Everyone else can leave the room except for Heath and her father.” Damn good speech, Momma. Now get this show on the road.

‘The twins are ready, Ryder. We need to hurry or we won’t be awake to greet them. That is something I am not ok with.’ Blue linked crying.

She put her hands on my head and pushed her magic to cover my body. I felt it seeping through my pores and into my mind. It used so much force I braced for pain but there was none. It was gentle but persistent until it went throughout my whole body.

‘Ryder, are you there?’ How could I hear her? ‘Baby girl are you there?’

I could hear my mother. Blue could hear her, I guessed from the excitement coming from her. ‘Mom? Mom can you hear me? How are you doing this?’ I replied but it seemed like it didn’t affect her any.

“Ryder, I know you’re there. I know you want out of here. You just have to push. You have to focus. You have to want this.’ Her voice kept getting louder and more desperate. She couldn’t hear me but I could hear her. ‘Your babies need you. We all need you to wake up to enjoy this moment with us. Please baby girl.’

‘Blue we have to push blue we have to do something. Please help me.’ I didn’t have much left to use strength wise before the blackness would take us again.

‘I don’t have much strength left right now from protecting the babies but let’s use everything we have left. These babies are coming whether we’re awake or not so it’s time. As soon as we wake up labor will start and I won’t be able to hold back the pain any longer.’

I thanked her for letting me know but any type of pain was better than this.

I shoved the power that I felt remaining towards every point in my body. I wished, I chanted, I demanded to wake up. I was not going to miss my children birth because I couldn’t get my a*s to wake up.

‘That’s it baby girl that’s right. Fight. Those babies are coming into this world soon and they need their mama. I need their mama.’ Koda weakly linked.

‘Koda??’ I freaked out pushing harder than before. My mates were almost here. The fathers of the twins and the loves of my life made it here despite everything they had going on. ‘Hurry. I am waking up no matter what.’

“We got you baby girl. Take strength from us. We are so close. We love you!’ Asher linked.

Everyone sent their love and strength to us making my magic surge. My eyes surged open and my body was instantly on fire. It felt like someone was taking knifes to my back over and over.

“Oh, s**t. Oh, s**t. It’s time.” I yelled at the room. No one moved until the next contraction when I started yelling very inappropriate things at my father and Heath for being male.

Mom swept me into a hug and thanked me for being so strong. She couldn’t wait to be a grandmother. She sounded so tired from helping me wake up that I didn’t even try to ask for a little bit of magical pain killer. She had done enough for me. Now it was my turn to have these babies so I could hug and k**s on them all damn day.
