(Book 2) – Chapter 27
So this pack is smaller than any I have been to which I think is awesome. They have around 200 members and I think smaller groups mean more attention to detail. What Asher said about the Alpha made me respect him without even having to meet him. He said the Luna did her job well but wasn’t the most personable to him. I think maybe she knew what type of guy he was during that time. The daughter was a nitwit in my opinion and the son wasn’t there when he visited. The training was a bit lax with it being once a day or every other day and the females were not made to go. So I knew that was going to be a big hill to cross if they supported us.
We made it to the packhouse about six in the evening. We were going to stop and eat but when Asher called the pack house to let them know where we were they told us not to. They had a dinner being prepared for us and the top people in the pack so that meant I was going to be meeting everyone tonight. About twenty people were standing outside waiting for us and only a couple had smiles on their face. Great, it is not going to go well. I looked at Asher and he grimaced before mouthing an apology.
The alpha and Luna both looked like super models with how tall they were and how perfect they looked. When I looked around I noticed most of the members had blonde hair and slim figures with their clothing looking perfect. I wondered if no one knew had joined the pack in a while. We walked up and we let Asher introduce us again but before he could start we heard a shrink that was so high-pitched blue whimpered. I looked around and saw a blonde-haired replica of the Luna running toward our group.
“Oh my Goddess Asher! I told Daddy you would come back for me!” She ran up to Asher and went to leave him to his arms he just stood there so she ended up falling on her a*s right in front of him. “What the f**k, baby?”
“Listen I am sorry but I did not come back for you. We are all here on official business.” He looks up at the Luna and Alpha before starting to introduce us. “I am Asher which most of you know. Down the line we have Blake, Andrew, Kane, Knox, Melissa, Alistair,
Edgar, and Ryder.” We all bowed.
“Thank you for coming. I am Luna Faith and that is my daughter, Diamond.” She flicked her wrist toward the girl fangirling over my mate. I held back a growl but I must not of did a good job since Edgar put his hand on my back to calm me down.
“I am Alpha Zach and we welcome you to our pack. We aren’t as big as Asher’s pack but we take care of each other here. I always say small but mighty.” He chuckled. Before he could continue a boy about four came racing out of the house, down the stairs, and straight into my legs. “And that whirlwind is my youngest son, Dexter. My oldest, Leif, is out tonight hunting for our celebration in two days.”
“Dexter! Let the lady go!” She steps forward making an annoyed sound and Dexter held on tighter while crying.
“It’s ok Luna. He is the cutest thing.” I looked down at him and smiled. He stepped back but kept hold of my leg. “My name is Ryder. Are you ok?”
He bent his finger and moved it for me to move closer to him. When I did he whispered what he needed and it made me laugh. I stood up and told him I could handle that request.
“What did he say?” The Alpha asked.
“He said No one made any cookies for dessert tonight and he needed his chocolate chip fix.”
“SON!” The Alpha took a step forward but stopped when he smelled the air. “What is that smell? It is like there is a witch here and then a separate smell of death.”
“Yea, about that.” I stepped forward bringing Dexter with me. “I should let you all in on a secret. I am Ryder..”
I was rudely interrupted my Diamond. “We already know that. God, just because you next to a soon to be Alpha doesn’t make you important. Go wash dishes or something and let the important people speak.” A few people nodded their heads with them.
I saw red but before I could smack her smart mouth Andrew stepped forward. “Don’t be rude to my mate!” He growled. They knew he was Asher’s brother so they knew he was an Alpha as well.
“This trash is your mate? You should of just rejected her and found someone better. I have a friend that would be perfect for you.”
“Why is it every pack has a smart a*s b***h who dresses like a w***e and starts s**t with me?” I look at her. “Anyway before I was interrupted I am PRINCESS Ryder. I am the last royal and surprise I am still alive.” I looked at Diamond and she was stunned.
“I don’t believe that. We knew the King and Queen. They would of sent their daughter here if she was still alive.” The Luna growled.
“My mother and Father sent me with their human friends so they could hide me until I came of age. I have been leading a normal
human life and hiding in plain sight.”
“Prove it!” Diamond yelled. So I did. I let Blue come forward and my eyes changed to purple. Everyone but the alpha and his family kneeled to me.
“Good enough?” I looked at the Alpha and he nodded. “The second thing is that all this men minus Alistair are my mates. My MARKED and MATED mates.” Diamond gasped.
“NO! He is mine. I had him first. Dad do something!” She stomped her foot and I laughed.
“Diamond be quiet or go inside. The adults are talking!” The Luna chided her before facing me. “Congratulations. Your mother had a few mates. She said the more you have the more powerful you are so you must be the strongest wolf yet.” I felt like that was her being a bit of a jerk but I let it pass.
“Thank you. I need you all to know that one of my mates is a hybrid. He had a werewolf mother who was bit while pregnant and he was born a vampire. Once we mated he got his wolf back but has not shifted yet. My friend Melissa is a witch and they both go where I go.”
“I think the rest of this conversation needs to happen in my office. Let’s grab a plate and head up, ya?” The Alpha commanded and everyone nodded.
