The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2861

Chapter 2861
She was determined to gain Nolan’s favor, stubbornly bypassing the path of privilege her father had meticulously laid out for her.
Did Regina truly believe that her sheer will could thaw Nolan’s icy heart?
Unknown to her, the original documents she sought were safely hidden by him; what she found in his study would be nothing but
a mere photocopy.
Regina, sneaking into her father’s study, remained blissfully ignorant of this fact. When she finally discovered the tiny chip she
was looking for, she felt an appreciation for luck and a rush of guilty relief, silently apologizing to her father in her mind.
She knew that the Tanner Group desperately needed the Harris family’s investment, and she silently vowed to help her father
secure it once she had made amends with Nolan. After all, she was a Tanner too, and she had reaped the benefits of being part
of such an influential family. In times of crisis, she wouldn’t turn her back on them.
But she had principles. She wouldn’t allow her father to resort to such underhanded tactics to threaten or entrap Nolan. She
didn’t want to be part of such a scheme.
She contacted Nolan after getting the thing. She opted for a text message, fearing he wouldn’t want to hear her voice. She urged
him to meet her.
Meanwhile, Nolan sat at his desk, contemplating his mother’s question. Did he truly have no feelings for Regina?
If that were the case, why would he agree to such an absurd marriage arrangement? Francis’ threats were inconsequential to
Nolan. What he cared about was whether Regina was part of it.
Nolan couldn’t believe Regina was that kind of person. From their bickering first encounter to a peaceful chat during their second
meeting, she had shown herself to be more generous-spirited than he had initially thought. Despite all she had endured as a
Tanner, she maintained a positive outlook on life, a quality Nolan found admirable and alluring.
She was also a journalist, and they had been through so much together. He just wanted to know whether her closeness was a
calculated move or if their initial contact had been intentional on her part.
Upon receiving Regina’s message, he hesitated. Meeting her again could mean facing a truth he wasn’t ready to accept.
Francis, having seen Regina sneaking around on the surveillance footage, called the family driver after she left the study.

“Yes, it’s true. Miss Regina just took a car and left in a hurry, and she didn’t even ask for a driver.” Francis sneered.
Who else could Regina be in such a rush to meet if not Nolan? She was eagerly delivering the surveillance original to him,
neglecting her own father’s interests. He felt like she had become ungrateful.
Resigned, Francis realized some of Regina’s sentiments must be dealt by himself, her father. It was time to cut her ties with the
past and make her understand that life wasn’t just about pursuing dreams while neglecting basic needs.
