The Isle (Chronicles of the Irish Princess Book 1)

Chapter Thirty

We walked into the Mansion to see Oran holding back two wolves from tearing each other apart. Their Alpha's trying to assert dominance over the wolves to get them to calm down. I noticed a girl crying over by the stairs with two other she wolves trying to comfort her. This was what I had feared from the start of things. That things would go completely array and blow up in our faces. All to quick I had lost my patience and decided to let lose my new powers.

"Oran, I recommend you stand back and let them go."

Everyone noticed the white glow to my eyes now, how they had slightly glossed over. I felt the power building in my hands, then I used it to force both of the wolves on their knees. It immediately surprised them and they lost all the fight they had.

"Alphas, you may calm your wolves now." I said letting the pair free. "Once they have decided to be calm you four can join King Oran, Prince Malakai and myself along with this poor girl here in the conference room. There we will discuss this matter as rational human beings. The rest of you, please go back to enjoying the splendors of the Isle and the Mansion. I apologize for the interruption of such animals."

I took the girl and her two friends who insisted on coming for support into the conference room. Outside we could hear the Alpha's yelling to the wolves about me needing to use force. Im sure they meant my powers. They all knew about the impending evil we were to face, too bad the rest of their pack members were ignorant.

"Now, why don’t you start by telling me your name and what pack you're from, sweets." I said handing her the box of tissues.

She took a few tissues and wiped her eyes. "My name is Danica, I'm from the Serbian pack. These are my friends Jelena and Zora."

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Leah, I'm going to be mated to that big guy back there, Malakai. Danica, can you tell me what the fight was about?"

"It was about me," she sniffled. "The guy on the right, is my brother, Dusan. He's a little over protective of his little sister."

"I have a brother, I know the feeling. Who was the other guy?"

"Caleb, he's from the British Pack. I think he could be my mate. We were going to talk to Alpha Milos and his Alpha Johnathan, when he took my hand that’s when it all started. My brother, like the overprotective ass he can be, freaked out. And well they were going to take it outside and fight, but Milos got wind of it and tried to control this. You saw how well that went."

I chuckled, "Yes well, I've learned in life that people will do crazy things when they are in love or want to protect someone they care about."

"This is all my fault."

"No, Danica this is most certainly not your fault. This is the work of protective wolves."

She smiled at me, "Thank you Princess, don't be too hard on them please."

"I'll do my best." I turned to Kai, "Are they ready?"

He opened up the door and in walked the four gentlemen. They all sat down across from me and the girls, both Alphas in the middle looking very displeased. Milos cleared his throat ready to speak.

"Gentlemen, I'm going to make this very clear and simple. This sort of fighting was what I and King Oran were most concerned with. We are not interested in casualties due to male aggression and stupidity. That being said, as someone who has a brother, I understand where Dusan is coming from. Being mated to a wolf, I also am beginning to understand where Caleb is coming from. Which is why I want the two of you to talk, as human beings, without violence and with your Alphas. I also want both parties to apologize to each other for their insensitivity to the other and to young Danica here, for embarrassing her in front of all of the other packs, Alphas and Royals that had to witness the matter."

Both of the men looked at each other and then to Danica. As I expected, Caleb spoke first.

"Danica, I am so very sorry that I offended you, and disrespected you the way I did. I'm sorry that my actions led to an unnecessary fight and the involvement of Alpha's and our King to control. I hope you are able to forgive me of my actions." He turned next to me and the Alphas, "Respected members of Royalty, My King, Alphas, I would like to formally apologize for my behavior and actions that led to your involvement in this. Danica and I have become close over the last few days and we believe that we could be mates. If you could accept my apology and my plea to pursue this wonderful girl I would see it as a great honor to bond our packs."

He paused a moment and waited for my response.

"I think that there are ways we can help you find the answers you are looking for. On one condition you are already aware of."

"Yes Princess. Dusan, I am sorry that I offended you, mate." He was talking more relaxed now. "I know she's your sister, and I should have come to first and talked to you. Can you forgive me?"

It was silent. All eyes were on Dusan now, waiting for his response. He still looked upset with his sister, and the boy. I looked over to his sister and saw the pleading look in her eyes. A look I knew all too well. I'd given it to Luca many times in our lifetime.

"Yeah, brate, if you can forgive me for getting so defensive. She's all the family I have left. I promised my parent's I'd protect her. Milos, I apologize to you and everyone else for my actions, I should have thought with more rationale. Danica, moja draga sestra, please forgive me for this, I only mean to keep you safe."

"I know brate, but you can't keep me cooped up forever."

I smiled and stood, "Both of you are forgiven by the crown, and I would like the three of you to join me and Prince Malakai at our table for dinner this evening. I think it is just as important to keep family in our lives. Because families are always changing and growing."

"It would be an honor to join you," Danica said.

"Great, we will see you all shortly." I smiled.

I got a few more 'thank yous' from the Alphas as they departed. Milos was kind enough to shut the door behind him. I sat back in my chair and sighed shaking my head. Kai and Oran sat with me.

"Sometimes I wonder, if I'll ever make a good king. But then I look at you and watch you do stuff like this, all that worry goes away," Kai said kissing the back of my hand. "That was amazing Luna."

"I have to agree with Malakai on this. You handled that beautifully. I couldn’t have done better myself. But now there's a part of me that isnt thinking you may have been right about things with the packs."

"It's just male stupidity, and pigheadedness. Not to say that is the way with all of them and now more of the men won't act with dignity. But I knew there was always a chance of this. I'm glad no one was hurt."

"As am I, Leah. Are you sure you made the right choice about dinner though?"

"Positive, think about it, we need to interact with our subjects and they need to see that while yes we are the authority, we too are normal people."

"You've got a good heart and a smart head resting on your shoulders Leah," Oran smiled and gave me a hug. "But let me warn you when I say not all packs are this open you may find other packs hard to level with. This time it may have been some adolescent bots fighting over a girl, but next time it could be all the alphas fighting over authority and territory. Just remember I'll be here to guide you both through this."

I nodded and went with Kai to get ready for dinner.
