The Inauguration

Chapter 15

Judgement Hour.

Wolves are ruled by a hierarchy, but if that hierarchy leaves them hopeless and leaves them no other choice but to remove it, then that hierarchy has done nothing but disgrace the entire community.

The council has been ruling ever since the times of the Elmi urilia War and they had done a good job until times started changing and so did certain morals of certain wolves.

No one is the same and every burden or job is difficult for everyone but it’s the strength and dignity you have when doing the job, the joy and love you have for it that earns you respect from your people.

And if you can’t even do that, then what are you doing? Solani was now walking into the den, but she wasn’t a tad frightened as she was part of the pack that was to enjoy dinner this evening. The den where the most highest-ranked packs would decide the fate of the council, where everything will either change or remain the same but she could barely focus. The minute she stepped right into the room, she was hit with his fragrance.

The smell of pint mint mixed with a little bit of parsley and fresh dew and she wanted to bathe in it. Her head turned and there he was in all his glory. He looked to have been discussing with his pack mates but she could care less to listen in on what they were talking about. All she cared about was how he dressed in a nice black suit.

The pants and jacket and simple night black and white hemp with no tie and he left the rest to the imagination. His black hair was all frenzy as if he had run his hand in it a couple of times and the way he stood screamed power. She wanted him. She wanted her mate. But call her old school if you want, she wanted to wait for her mate to approach him first.

She shook her head and cleared her throat before heading towards her pack section and sat next to Lugar on his right. Across from her, she could see the Alpha of the Sunfair Clandestine, Perla Ruine, and her pack sitting and waiting for the meeting or judgement to start. They were especially known for their ability to survive in hot weather, the Sahara Desert and Kalahari only made it better considering it was in their natural habitats.

To the right of her pack, she saw the ArtiQuentin Pack. She was always in awe of them. They were beautiful, their Alpha, Kellen Burke, was a hybrid per se. Between a siren and wolf. What a beautiful combination. He was gorgeous with white sparkling hair and ocean eyes, his skin, dark chocolate that made him look more majestic.

They were especially known for their kindness and wisdom but mostly their ability to fight underwater or in storm conditions especially considering their pack was mostly the only pack that had the most crossbreed between sirens and wolves.

To the left of her pack was of course the SnowClovers Pelts, their Alpha, Melinda Declan, smiled at her from her seat catching her eyes. She had beautiful black thick hair and pale skin that made her pink lips pop.

Her pack was from the Russian empire. Solani never really understood how Melinda had gotten her pack to be part of the African regime but she guessed that Melinda was tired of being subjugated by the rumours of her continent that she sought a more civilized one and by that she meant a continent that wasn’t prejudice.

Melinda’s pack was considered the strongest out of every pack in this room and the world but they did not boast about it. They mostly kept to themselves, not much was known about them.

And to the right of the SunFair Clandestine, was the Ethereal Growlers, Alpha Grayson Therealt and his lovely Luna Elena Therealt sitting beside him.

The Therealts were known to be great in combat but that was a few years ago when Grayson’s father was in charge, now everyone knew that the pack was run by Elena and that Grayson was as much a whipped wolf, as his son.

And their pack was last, Giantridge Hunters, the alpha Matthew Lugar and she was proud to be part of his pack, to be his Beta. Their pack was well known for being impeccable hunters, their senses and connection to their wild sides are more intense than the rest and this makes them almost as deadly as the SnowClovers.

These five packs weren’t the only packs but they were the most powerful in their region. They were spread across the four corners of the earth and they represented the packs in their own region.

Silence fills the hall and she watches as the council is escorted into the room with a few guards surrounding them. They were pushed to the ground in the middle of the hall with all eyes on them.

Solani can see the faint bruises decorating their faces and knew that Melinda was a woman of her word when she said she would inflict punishment.

Speaking of which, she watches as Melinda stands and ad dresses the court,” I don’t want to drag this any more than it has already been dragged. We all know the council has deceived, manipulated and conspired against us and we are here to rule a judgement for their sins”, her voice loud and affirmative.

“But before we begin to give the necessary punishment, I would like to know the truth behind the prophecy,” the voice belonged to Alpha Burke. His eyes laid straight on Councilman Arald.

“Well Arald?”, Melinda beckoned,” does the prophecy exist or not and if so then tell us what it really says”.

Silence fills the room as everyone waits patiently for the answer.

“The prophecy does…,” councilman Arald stops looking at his fellow comrades before shaking his head, “the prophecy does not exist”.

The room is filled with growls and Melinda glares at the group of councilmen standing before everyone,” I don’t think we need any more reasons not to kill them right here and right now. They have betrayed everything they stood for and what they have been blessed with by the goddess”.

“We did our jobs accordingly, we guided you and helped you. You need us”, one councilman bellowed.

“We do not need you, you need us,” Alpha Lugar says,” you need us to decide whether you live or not, Councilman and more importantly you needed us to become what you are….well what you were”, he snarls with a finish.

“All in favour of disbanding the council and banishing them say ‘I’, Melinda stands.

” I “, Alpha Burke stands, followed by Alpha Ruine, Alpha Lugar, Alpha Declan and finally Alpha Therealt. “You will henceforth be nothing but scum, goddess bless your wolves,” she ends pressing her two fingers to her lips then to her forehead and all follow after muttering the same line, “goddess bless your wolves”.
