THE HYBRID WOLF

Chapter Chapter six

Leila.

"Today, you can just relax and settle down maybe familiarise yourself with your environment but do not go above the camp's limit and into the pack's private places. We do not want any diplomatic incidents. Tomorrow, we will have our first match. It will be us against the Dragon pack. Prepare yourselves. All the info about the game will be given tomorrow. You may all leave. " Beta Steven finished his speech and we went our separate ways.

Since I have no partner from my pack, I will most certainly have to share my room with someone from another pack, and that is fine by me.

I reach the lobby of the camp house where everyone is staying and I learn that every other wolf is paired up already. I'm the only one left, so they give me a single room. If I could kiss the woman behind the counter, I would have.

Peace, dear peace... I hum as I make my way to my room. Once inside I let myself fall on the bed like a log, praying that it is strong enough to hold my weight and not break.

The moment my head touches the pillow, I am out.

I groan waking up after whatever number of hours I was out. I rub my eyes and leave for the canteen, only to be told that dinner is over already.

I sigh as I make my way outside and towards the trees. I am hungry. I could shift and go hunting, but that is probably against the law. My grumbling stomach protests against my logic and I prepare for a hunt anyway.

I am about to take my clothes off when I feel someone watching me. I am used to people staring, but this... this is different. Goosebumps break on my skin, and every fiber of hair on my body stands on end.

I have forgotten all about my hunger as I try to locate who is looking at me. I have a very good sight, but I see nothing.

Ok. Time to get back in this is kind of creepy. I'm not ready for any drama. I sigh and set back to the doom and I'm back in my room in no time. I pull the chocolate bar in my backpack and eat. Better than nothing.

I wanted to run a little. I haven't let Leone out since morning, but with that surveillance or whatnot out there, I'll leave that to tomorrow morning.

I readily fall asleep again. Figure, staying in a bus full of weird people can really be tiresome.

I wake up with a yawn, as I stretch my body and get out of bed. Places are still dark outside and it's perfect. I checked the time and it was 5:30 am.

I get out of the doom and into the woods where I proceed to undress and leave my clothes under a tree and shift.

Leone is happy to be finally able to exercise a little. We set off and ran at full speed, but cautious not to go too far. We don't want to get into any trouble.

After about thirty minutes of running, we are back. It is less than what we normally do, but it will do for now. At least for the time that we have to spend here.

We marked a pathway and found a river where we could isolate and have an alone time soaking in fresh water.

I am greeted by the aroma of coffee as soon as I walk into the camp's canteen and hear someone shouting and asking me if I had also planned on skipping breakfast as I had dinner yesterday night. which causes the others to start snickering.

"At least I'm not a glutton," I say piquing at the mountain of food the small-looking girl has before her, and she flushed in embarrassment as the others turn to look at her. I recognize her as being a part of the army of ants always around Viviane.

I continue on my track unperturbed. I find an empty seat next to a blonde she-wolf I don't know, maybe one from another pack? Well...

She smiles at me as I settle myself next to her and I return the gesture.

"My, my... your eyes are stunning, and you are just gorgeous, " she tells me looking at me like she just saw a fee or something.

"Thank you. You look beautiful yourself, " I reply with as much sincerity as I can muster. Truth, she is very beautiful with her big hazel eyes, blonde curly hair, and pink pouty lips. Heart-shaped face and clear skin. Yep, she's beautiful.

I hear her let out a small chuckle and I look at her in surprise when my food is been served,

"It's you then? " she asks, but I'm confused.

"Me what? " I ask not really wanting to know if there was already gossip about me flying around.

"The loner... The outcast... " she asks and I raise a brow

"I see myself in you. I was that person too. Always wanting to be alone. Always wanting my peace... I drove my parents nuts with my attitude. Imagine a wolf who doesn't like to be with others when we are supposed to be social beings... They thought something was wrong with my head, " she says and we chuckle to that.

"Yeah, I can relate quite well. My name is Leila by the way, " I surprise myself as I put out my hand for a handshake. I like her and Leone agrees with me.

"Oh, pardon me. My name is Caroline. The beta female of the Blood Moon Pack, " she replies proudly.

Whaaooo... Impressive.

"I'm from Colorado pack, no title whatsoever, " I say and we laugh. The rest of the meal is pleasant as Caroline and I talk and laugh.
