"Dad said wake up, shower, and get dressed. Mom cooked so just help yourself. Then just you are to meet in the office. Not your friends. He doesn't trust the witch you have with you." Colson says after poking my nose.
"Ugh! She's not going to do anything, but yeah I rather just meet him alone."
"Theo will be there too. He's going over papers for a peace treaty. You know he's Betta now. His dad died about a year after you left from the war." Just fucking great.
I just get up, he leaves, I shower and dress. When I leave my room, I see the gang headed down the stairs.
"Breakfast? I got the meeting with my dad. You guys are kinda stuck inside till I figure things out with him. Tell me what you guys would prefer. Want to go on without me or if I can get my dad to let me leave after the ceremony would you guys want to wait?"
"We will reach the place together. But we will need to let our wolves run today. We didnt get the chance yesterday. So if you can get him to allow that somehow then it would be great. And again, no apologies needed. We all have pasts that will probably reach us at some point." Liam says as the rest smile back with assurance. They follow me to the kitchen. The smells are amazing. Liam is a great cook but we don't have the resources and well its mom's cooking. Nothing beats her cooking.
"Azula!!!! My baby is really here! Come on in, everyone take a seat and help yourselves! Az, baby, let me see you!" Dear lord Mom overkills the excitement and I'm stuck in the tightest hug. I struggle to breath till she let's go and does a once over to take me in. I'm grown now. I'm a woman. I was a child last.
"Thanks, Mom. This is Pete, his mate Zoe, and Liam. I'm just going to do a light breakfast then go meet Dad. Smells amazing like I remember!" I say smiling and grabbing some bacon and eyeing the pancakes.
"I'll make an extra plate and put it in the fridge for you just incase." She knows me, I can't say no to her cooking but, like my father, I like to get down to business.
As I leave them all, talking about me like I wasn't present, I head to my dad's office.
'Fuck. He's there. I can smell him. Let me rip him to shreds for you!'
'No. That won't get us what we want and he was drunk. Maybe he doesn't even remember what he did. I wonder if he has a family too now.'
'Did he find his mate after he raped the 14 year old Alpha's hybrid daughter? Really that's your question? We need to have a serious therapy session!' My wolf has a point, but I won't let her get her way with him, yet.
"Come in Azula." My dad says before I even get to the door. I walk in, take a seat across from him at his desk. Theo is standing there, leaning against the wall with papers in his hands behind dad.
"So, think its reasonable to say you will agree to stay for the ceremony at the least. Your friends though. That witch you have with you-"
"Zoe is a hybrid. She's Pete's mate and my mentor with spells. She won't be of any issue at all. None of them are. We just do what is needed and respect who we need to as long as they get respect in turn." I cut him off with and it catches Theo's attention, his eyes are now on me. No one cuts off the Alpha when he speaks. You have a death wish to be rude to him, being his kid only let's it go so far. Thankfully, he doesn't take offense.
"What would you like in terms." He continues.
"They would like to stay with me and then after we head on our way."
"If I agree, you stay in contact. We have some issues at the moment that can put you especially at risk. A clan." This gets Theo's full on attention and he puts the treaty papers down in front of my dad.
"Nether Decendents. Damn vampires making threats. We are evenly matched with this clan as well." Theo chimes in staring at me.
"Why does this have anything to do with me?" I keep my eyes on my father.
"Your mother was apart of their clan. They know of you. I kept you hidden here till you stupidly ran off. Though taking out an entire pack in Michigan was impressive to hear of my child and with only those rogues you have out there to help. Yes, I found you and kept tabs. Figured after 2 years, and shifting alone, that you had reason to be away. You took care of yourself well. I am curious why that pack though?"
"The Alpha pissed me off. Hired us to do some work, refused payment and attempted to imprison Zoe and threatened to kill us. So, I killed him and anyone who got in our way. Simple as that."
"HA! Hear that, Theo! Simple like her old man. Ruthless like the Alpha blood she is! Yet doesn't realize this vampire who is trying to start a war is actually after her! How do you stay away from vampires that you don't know this?" Dad has an odd way to put things. I explain to him our way of things. I won't hide my tactical skills from him. It would be a error.
"Alpha Ryanne should be here soon with his Betta. Want to agree with things and dismiss her already or have her sit in and possibly show intimidation to a peace treaty?" Theo says with an annoying demeanor.
"So, you all stay till this ceremony and we can see where things are with this clan issue. I will agree to their safety since they are your friends but they are in your control. You take any punishment with them if they step out of line." I nod and he continues. "You should sit in though. Don't be too intimidating. Your brother was supposed to but he had to leave to get to the north for some pack matters. You can take his place in the meeting. Understood?"
This is his way of testing me. I know it. He has always testing me. Pushing me to be leader material. He hoped I could take lead of our warriors. I couldn't be Alpha, not because I am female but because I'm not from his mate. Colson was always meant to be Alpha, Theo Betta. Gamma and omega really didn't matter in our pack like they do in others. I'd be third in command with the control of the whole army. I'd sit in a lot with his meetings since I was 10 but never with peace treaties with our neighbors. He considered those boring and not needed for me but more for Colson. Well, guess I'm meeting the Alpha we were going to next early. Maybe I can be granted passage while I'm at it right away.
