Aurelia remained in her car, not making a move to exit. Instead, she focused her attention on the vehicle that had been trailing her.
It appeared that the driver of that car had noticed they’d been detected. After a brief hesitation, the figure within stepped out.
It was Angela, her heels clicking gracefully on the pavement as she approached. Her outfit was impeccably stylish, exuding both sophistication and a sharp intelligence.
Seeing Angela again, Aurelia’s face hardened. Has she been shadowing me since the golf course?
Determined to uncover Angela’s true intentions, Aurelia decided to keep a watchful eye on her.
By now, Angela had reached Aurelia’s car.
“How long have you been following me?” Aurelia inquired with a cool demeanor.
Angela, unflustered by her cover being blown, responded calmly, “From the golf course to here, it’s probably been about three hours.”
Aurelia gave a light chuckle. “And why exactly were you following me?”
“You should be able to guess. I followed you because of our last encounter. There was a misunderstanding between us, and you let Mr. Quigley overhear our conversation,” Angela explained. “This has led to a rift between Mr. Quigley and me, and he’s since distanced himself from the Sanders family. It’s said that the person who created the problem is responsible for resolving it, Ms. Shaw. No one but you can help resolve this situation. Whatever you ask for now, I will comply. The hundreds of thousands last time, that was my mistake, and I apologize for it.”
Angela’s approach, even in seeking help, carried a subtle arrogance. Despite everyone placing the blame on her, she refused to diminish her pride in front of Aurelia.
It was the first time Aurelia had witnessed someone spinning the act of stalking into something almost commendable, let alone the audacity Angela displayed in asking for assistance.
Didn’t the previous debacle serve as a cautionary tale for Angela? Shouldn’t a presenter remember such important details?
“I can’t help you,” Aurelia stated firmly.
Angela’s brows knitted together in frustration. “The properties you’ve been viewing today are quite modest for Jacaster standards. This indicates that Mr. Quigley hasn’t invested much in you, and you’re not that significant to him. You could be discarded at any moment. If I were in your shoes, I’d seize any opportunity while it
are far superior to till exists. I can offer you a villa or a large bungalow in an upscale area. Both choices
properties you’ve considered today.”
She continued, “I’m aware of your strained relations with the Leedon family, and they won’t offer you any help. I also know you’re part of Old Mr. Gardner’s team. Although that bodes well for your future, you’ve only just started, and it’s going to be a long journey. You probably aren’t ready for major responsibilities. Even your adoptive mother’s financial situation is quite modest; she can’t offer much help. Thus, your options are quite limited.”

“There weren’t many options, but you have several choices for me, right?” Aurelia responded with a light- hearted laugh.
Angela maintained her aloof demeanor, nodding. “Indeed, the choice is yours.”
She added, “I can also assist your second brother in advancing further in the entertainment industry. I understand he’s been in this field for a few years now. Without any help, it’s unlikely he’ll make significant progress. The industry is full of talented actors all striving for stardom.”
Aurelia’s voice chilled. “You’ve been quite thorough in researching my life, haven’t you?”
She truly stops at nothing to achieve her goals.
“Your affairs weren’t difficult to look into,” Angela replied, seemingly oblivious to Aurelia’s growing discomfort.
“You’re so well–informed one might think you’re pleading with me, while others might suspect you’ve investigated me thoroughly just to cause harm, Aurelia remarked, her smirk barely hiding her disdain.
She had little tolerance for such presumptuous behavior.
Angela’s constantly flaunting her superiority. Where did she get the audacity to do so?
“I’ve approached you, but not for the reasons you might assume. I’m merely presenting an alternative path for you to consider,” Angela insisted, believing in her justification.
Aurelia checked the time; there were still twenty minutes until her appointment. Matthew’s always punctual. He should be here any minute.
Noticing this, Angela inquired, “Did you arrange to meet someone here for a meal?”
“Who are you meeting?” she pressed, urgency creeping into her voice.
Aurelia laughed lightly. “Don’t you already know?”
Angela’s expression darkened. “Consider carefully the proposal I made earlier. If you have regrets after today, I won’t offer you another chance. I’ve known Mr. Quigley for a long time. You’ve only just met him, and you’re unaware of the Quigley family dynamics. They will never accept a country girl marrying into their family. To them, you’ll always be just a plaything.”
“Are you done talking?” Aurelia asked, her patience thinning. Angela’s persistence was rapidly eroding
Aurelia’s usual calm.
“Aurelia, don’t test my patience,” Angela warned, irritation evident in her tone.
From childhood to adulthood, she rarely faced setbacks. However, due to Aurelia, things hadn’t exactly been smooth sailing for her recently.
Aurelia shot back sharply. “I should be saying that to you, Ms. Sanders. If you have no business here, please leave immediately! Any issues you have should be taken up with Matthew directly. Do not bother
me.”
Angela looked taken aback. “Aurelia, do you realize what you’re doing?”
She’s telling me to leave? No one has ever spoken to me like this before. This is the first time!

“You should be asking yourself that, Angela, Aurelia retorted coldly. “Your mind is a valuable asset; it’s not too late for it to develop. Until then, keep to your own affairs and stop meddling in others. I don’t have time for your games.”
Angela’s face flushed with anger as Aurelia’s rebuke cut deep. “You’re being completely unreasonable!” she exclaimed.
“Every interaction with you has proven pointless. Reasoning with you is futile; you simply do not understand, Aurelia said, exasperated.
Despite Angela’s role as a presenter, which should imply quick wit and sensibility, her actions suggested a lack of any principled thinking.
As she took a deep breath, Angela’s complexion turned a ghastly shade of pale. “I didn’t know your ambitions were so grand. Fine, I’ll accommodate you once,” she muttered darkly.
“Name your price!” Angela demanded, desperation edging her voice.
Aurelia, surprised to encounter someone as presumptuous as the notorious Leedon family, set her terms. absurdly high. “Don’t come looking for me unless you have ten billion.”
“Have you lost your mind, Aurelia? Antagonizing the Sanders family will not end well for you. You’re acting recklessly, relying on Mr. Quigley’s favor. Demanding ten billion just like that–your greed knows no bounds. If he were aware of your demands, he’d surely get rid of you,” Angela fumed, finding Aurelia’s defiance unbearable.
Aurelia responded coolly, “You shouldn’t concern yourself with matters that don’t involve you. Aren’t you too old to be a busybody?”
“Aurelia Shaw!”
