“Aurelia, do you know Angela?” Nancy asked, her voice tinged with a hint of puzzlement.

Upon hearing this. Aurelia turned to look in the direction Nancy was pointing. She was somewhat surprised to see that Matthew and Angela had already separated after what seemed like a brief exchange.

They barely exchanged a couple of words, didn’t they?

Even though a significant distance lay between them, it was clear to her that Angela’s gaze lingered on her.

“We’ve bumped into each other a couple of times before,” Aurelia explained nonchalantly.

Nancy suddenly realized why Angela had been staring so intently. “No wonder she was looking at you like that. But she couldn’t shake off the nagging feeling that Angela seemed to perceive Aurelia as a romantic threat. 4 love rival, perhaps? How could this be possible? Aurelia and Matthew don’t even know each other, and their relationship is nothing more than a fake wedding photo.

“You’ve got it wrong,” Aurelia said succinctly, not wanting to elaborate further. She knew Angela’s intentions were not pure and preferred to keep her distance from such complications.

“What were you two talking about?” Charlie, who had been walking ahead, turned back and asked after noticing them chatting and looking his way.

Nancy pointed in Angela’s direction. “Did you see that beautiful woman over there?”

Charlie glanced over, his interest piqued when he spotted Angela. “Ah, there she is! Isn’t that Angela? Her show is quite popular, and she’s indeed quite attractive,” he remarked.

It was evident from his tone that she was exactly his type.

“No matter how beautiful she may be, she can’t compare to Auri,” Nancy immediately chimed in, her loyalty to Aurelia unwavering. In her eyes, no celebrity, not even Angela, could hold a candle to Aurelia.

Suddenly, a fleeting image crossed her mind–the female secretary by Justin’s side. Her physique was impeccably maintained, undoubtedly appealing to many.

Nancy’s brow furrowed slightly. Why did this person suddenly come to mind? After all, she’s only a secretary, not the type of woman Justin would fancy

Yet, Nancy recalled the secretary’s peculiar gaze toward her earlier; something about it seemed off reflection.

It seemed as if… she was trying to compete?

Charlie mused aloud, breaking into her thoughts. “If one day I could appear on her show, that would mean I’ve made it big”

After achieving his professional goals, he planned to find a genuine love–someone who would reciprocate his affection wholeheartedly.

Nancy smiled warmly at Charlie’s aspirations. “Charlie, I have a feeling you’re going to be famous very soon, she encouraged.

lifetime. Charlie declared with confidence.

Aurelia’s smile brightened. “Charlie, I believe in you! Going to Briostein has always been a dream of mine. I’m counting on you to make it happen,” she said enthusiastically.

“Wait for it! I promise, I won’t let you down!” Charlie reassured them, his voice filled with determination.

The trio continued their light–hearted banter as they walked along

At that moment. Matthew was drawing nearer to them. As he approached, a group of middle–aged men blocked his path, clearly excited to see him.

“What a coincidence, I didn’t expect to run into you here today, Mr. Quigley!” one exclaimed.

“Since we’ve run into each other, how about we go for coffee together?” another suggested.

“You’re becoming more capable by the day. Matthew,” added a third.

Matthew eyed the men briefly before his gaze inadvertently–drifted back toward Aurelia and her group. “Quite the coincidence to meet you here, Mr. Loverin, Mr. Carmack, and Mr. Zyrus,” he greeted them.

After catching up to Matthew, Gordon saw several other business acquaintances standing nearby and promptly joined them.

The companies backing these guys are all partners of Quigley Group, and they’re quite close to Mr. Quigley. It seems they planned to meet here for some leisure time.

As Aurelia walked ahead, she heard noise from behind and glanced back. Her eyes met with Matthew’s across the distance. Despite the crowd, there was an unspoken understanding between them–they maintained an air of strangers in front of others; there wasn’t even a spark in their eyes.

“Wow, it’s Matthew! Look, did he just glance at you? I don’t know why, but I have this gut feeling that there might be something between you two,” Nancy blurted out excitedly, clearly shipping them together.

She felt that the visual of them together was nothing short of mesmerizing. No saccharine romance drama or media–hyped celebrity couple could compare to what she envisioned for them.

“You’re talking about Auri and Matthew? They don’t even know each other, how could that be possible? Besides, I don’t think Matthew is a good match. Being part of a prestigious family isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. After marrying into that world, there are all sorts of issues to deal with, not to mention the countless rules. And let’s not forget all the socialites in Jacaster who are dying to marry him. Even if Auri is exceptional, she’d be better off not stepping into those troubled waters. The waters run deep in those high- society circles,” Charlie interjected, quickly bursting Nancy’s fanciful bubble.

At their words, Aurelia felt a twinge of guilt. She had already married into the family, and whether there were any hidden complications was still unclear. It seemed there was no room for regret at this juncture.

A question from Matthew appeared on her phone screen: Shall we have dinner together tonight?

She responded with a simple: Okay.

Then she turned to Charlie and asked, “Charlie, if I really end up marrying Matthew, would you advise me to get a divorce?”

Charlie was clearly taken aback by the question. “I hadn’t considered that possibility. You barely know him,

all you’ve done is meet at a golf course. Let’s not even talk about divorce, there’s no sign of a wedding yet.”

“Auri, don’t get too caught up in the drama,” Nancy cautioned, a sense of unease rising within her.

The fake wedding photo only suggests that Auri’s way too immersed in the role. Is it because I kept mentioning Matthew that Auri took it to heart, leading to that fake marriage certificate photo? If that’s the case, I’ve caused a huge mess! I was recklessly shipping them and ended up making a mistake that’ll hurt my bestie!

Aurelia watched the two of them, all her unspoken words and feelings condensed into three simple words, “All right then.

No matter how much she said at that point, both of them wouldn’t believe her.

Even though Charlie had no more scenes left to shoot, he still had to follow the film crew to the next location for night filming. So, after having lunch with Charlie, Aurelia and Nancy left. Then, Aurelia escorted Nancy back to her home.

Having noticed that she had the whole afternoon free, Aurelia decided to spend her time driving around to check out a few properties.

Before she knew it, time had slipped away,

“Aurelia had previously researched several properties.

So, going to the scene was merely for comparison’s sake.”

She didn’t have much time. She quickly chose a house with a layout that met her satisfaction, as well as a neighborhood that pleased her with its ample greenery. Without further ado, she paid the deposit.

It was a four–bedroom house, with a total price of ten million. Aurelia had a few million on hand, deciding to pay half and take out a loan for the rest

After accomplishing the task, she drove straight to the restaurant where she had arranged to meet with Matthew. Having achieved her heart’s desire, she was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to share the news with her adoptive mother and the rest.

Nevertheless, Aurelia decided to wait until next week to make the down payment, and then she would tell them during the handover.

Deep in thought, she was completely oblivious to the fact that a car had been tailing her from the moment she left the first building.

It wasn’t until Aurelia parked her car in front of a restaurant with traditional Clusian decor that she noticed. another car parked nearby. Suddenly, she realized that this car had been present all along her journey.

Someone’s tailing me!
