The Heart Sees

Darn it all! I wasn't trying to knock her out, I want her to be awake to see her struggle. I know I reacted a bit harshly by rejecting her but how had she moved on so quickly! It's like the bond dissappeared for her instantly, while I still had bits and pieces of it. I scowled at her naked form as she lay collapsed against the door.

Why did the moon goddess do this to me? She granted me with such a weak mate.... I guess she did it so I can have a bunch of pups. But now with that blind alpha, Troy, in the way I'm not sure how to get pups out of her. I can use Troy as leverage, like I did before because I know she is desperate to save him. But unless I captured Troy and threatened him repeatedly she won't cooperate.

I sat on the floor, head in my hands. I would capture Troy but there was no way with how he fought off my warriors. He took down 14 of my best fighters and he can't even see! I feel completely humiliated. So the only other option is to kill Troy....

The easiest way to kill him would be to remove his mate mark from Lu. The pain of their souls separating should be enough to put him in a coma and when he is weak I can send someone to kill him. Or the pain would kill him out right, which would be even better. I know that it will hurt him more than usual because he used to have a mate... I don't know her name but I heard stories of a battle in this pack where the alpha went blind after losing his mate.

A part of me wants to feel bad for Troy but after he stole my mate and refused to let me see her I wish him nothing but death.

I crawled towards Lu and touched her face. Even in her state she managed to tilt her head away from me. It would be easy to take her while she is not awake to fight back... but my wolf enjoys the chase and the fight in her. She never stood up to us before but now that she has a chosen mate she is fighting a lot harder and I find that sexy.

I'll take her mark now and then when she is awake I'll give her my mark. That should slow Troy down and give me a chance to escape, plus it's a step closer to making her mine. I snickered to myself as I leaned in and brushed my nose against her neck, smelling that cursed alpha on her. I grazed my teeth against it and heard her whimper as I prepared to remove his mark. She would have to be bitten twice, once to remove the mark and once to make her mine.

I was just about to do it when I got a mind link from my beta, 'that alpha is here with some warriors! They're breaching the building! We have to get out now' he warned.

I cursed as I scooped Lu into my arms and opened the door, making a mad dash for the exit. Thankfully they were all at the back end of the house where my warriors are holding them off. I kept bolting through the trees towards my pack territory. Just a bit further and I would be there.... I could easily keep them out since I knew my land and had defenses put in place.

I was almost there when I heard a loud growl from behind me. That cursed alpha was right on my tail. I knew I couldn't out run him and I probably wouldn't be able to beat him in a fight based on what I have seen and heard. So I did the one thing I could think of....

"Stop! Or I'll kill her" I turned around with the unconscious Lu in my arms and held my hand just above her neck. I watched as the wolf stopped in it's tracks. It took him a moment to shift as his clouded blue eyes stared at me.

"Give her back" he growled.

"No way! I need her to strengthen my pack and the moon goddess fated us together, it would only be right for me to mate her" I smirked as the alpha took a step towards me. I pressed a claw to her throat as a warning and he stopped again.

"You rejected her! You can't just take her back after that!" The alpha spit out.

"Well I am and whether she likes it or not she will be my mate" I growled back.

"Why don't you just choose someone else?" He asked angrilly.

"You know omegas are hard to find, it's not like I'll just run in to one" I said sarcastically.

"What you're doing is against the wolf laws! I could go to the council about this" Troy threatened.

"Those laws only protect wolves who imprint on each other, not mate desputes" I deflected.

"We'll see what they have to say" he stood his ground.

"If you go to them I will kill her" I growled menacingly.

"We both know you won't kill her because she needs to be alive to produce pups" he stated factually.

"Care to test me?" I said as I drew a bit of blood from her neck to prove my point.

"Please.... just give her back" he sighed.

"Why should I?" I glared at him.

"She chose me... we were happy" he said sadly.

"Happiness is just an illusion" I said before I sunk my teeth over Lu's mate mark.

The action caused a chain of events that I mostly expected. Lu woke up, screaming in pain as her mark was removed. She thrashed about in my arms and her body shook violently as their souls were being separated.

I removed my teeth from her neck, not bothering to close the wound as blood dripped down onto the ground. Lu had started crying now as she glanced over at her chosen mate.

He had fallen onto his knees, clutching his chest tightly. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he was also shaking when Lu spoke to him, "Troy I am so sorry! Please forgive me Troy! I don't want him, I want you! I'll always want you!" She yelled and his gaze snapped in her direction. "Please don't let him take me!" She begged as she elbowed and kicked me, trying to escape from my grip.

"Come along mate" I purred into her and she kept fighting me.

"Please just let me go to him! Let me help him!" She screamed, but I kept her in a vice grip.

A couple of men came over to the alpha, who had fallen onto his back. Each of them grabbed one of his hands and started saying things to him. With the alpha down and the warriors distracted I ran away with my prize. And with how weak the alpha looked I strongly suspect that this will kill him.... I smiled from ear to ear. Now to start on some pups....
