Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Horrible News
Months later, Jane welcomed a baby boy into the world whom they named Edward. Prince Edward is an exquisite child. King Henry takes great pride in Prince Edward. The entire kingdom rejoices over Prince Edward’s arrival, but they are also disheartened by King Henry’s treatment of Anne. Initially, the kingdom had reservations about Anne, but they eventually grew to adore her. They also hold a deep affection for Princess Elizabeth. The kingdom longs for the return of their beloved princess. Princess Mary harbors jealousy and animosity towards Princess Elizabeth. Princess Mary is relieved that Anne and Princess Elizabeth have departed from England. Jane, however, does not enjoy the same level of popularity as Princess Katherine or Anne.
Jane rarely left her home due to her aversion to hearing people speak ill of her. Adding to her troubles, King Henry continues to engage in affairs with other women. Jane’s circle of friends is limited, with Princess Mary and her ladies-in-waiting being her only companions. King Henry has not visited her, nor has he expressed his love for her since their marriage. Jane questions whether King Henry truly loves her.
Jackie discovers that she is expecting a baby, but she is not pleased about it. On the other hand, Paul is thrilled about becoming a father soon. Anne is happy for both of them. Paul has been contemplating potential names for their baby. If it’s a boy, he wants to name him Steve, and if it’s a girl, he wants to name her Susan. Anne and Nancy are planning to throw a baby shower for Jackie. In addition, Nancy is also pregnant and is excited about expecting Kenny’s child. Henry is excited about having a new sibling. Jackie doesn’t have many friends, so the attendees at the baby shower will mainly be Nancy’s friends and Paul’s female coworkers.
Elizabeth can hardly contain her excitement for the arrival of her new cousins. She already loves them and can’t wait to treat them like they are her own siblings. It’s a shame that Anne doesn’t let her speak to her dad, but Elizabeth doesn’t really mind. After all, she’s still young and doesn’t quite understand everything that’s going on between her parents. Regardless, she can’t wait to meet her new family members and shower them with love and affection.
Jackie, who is currently six months pregnant, visited her doctor to discuss her concerns. The doctor noticed an issue with the baby and Jackie immediately questioned if something was wrong. The doctor then informed her that the baby is likely to be born with cerebral palsy. Jackie, feeling upset, angrily asked what she did to cause this condition. The doctor reassured her that she did not do anything to cause it, as these things can occur without any specific reason.
Jackie shouts, expressing her unwillingness to have the baby. Paul responds with anger, insisting that she doesn’t truly mean it. Jackie screams back, confirming her statement. Paul is unsure of how to handle the situation. Anne tries to reassure Paul, saying that Jackie will change her mind once the baby is born. However, Paul knows deep down that this is not the case. He understands that Jackie has made a firm decision.
