The Heart Made of Broken Gold

Chapter 5

Chapter 5: I am not begging

Several months later, Anne is already in the process of delivering her second child. Anne had hoped for a son, believing that if she provided Henry with a male heir, he would treat her more kindly. However, Anne faces difficulties during childbirth. The doctor delivers the devastating news to both Anne and King Henry that their baby has tragically passed away. King Henry becomes furious with Anne, holding her responsible for the baby’s death. He refuses to visit her. In turn, Anne becomes angry with Henry and decides not to wait for him to divorce her. She plans to leave him and does not intend to wait until she fully recovers from giving birth.

Anne packed her bag, preparing to leave. She dialed Paul’s number, hoping he would still be willing to help her and Elizabeth find a place to stay.

“I have made the decision to leave Henry. I am wondering if you are still willing to help me get a job and a place for Elizabeth and me to stay,” Anne asked.

“Of course, I am,” Paul replied reassuringly.

“When are you leaving?” he inquired. “Right now,” Anne responded.

“I am sorry things did not work out with Henry,” Paul sympathized.

“I am not. I want to be happy. I also want Elizabeth to be happy,” Anne retorted, her frustration evident.

Together, Anne and Princess Elizabeth made their way to the airport, Elizabeth blissfully unaware of the situation at hand.

Anne and Elizabeth are going to be staying with Jackie and Paul for a little while until Anne finds a new place. Nancy is thrilled by the idea of having Anne living close by. Elizabeth and her cousin Henry have an awesome relationship. They’re always hanging out and having a great time together.

A month later, Anne initiated the process of getting a divorce. King Henry wasted no time in approving the divorce papers. King Henry and Jane are engaged in a romantic relationship. Jane is pregnant with King Henry’s child, which is the outcome of their affair. Princess Mary is pleased that Jane and her plan to end Anne’s marriage to her father work. Jane feels remorseful about the loss of Anne’s baby. She is also taken aback by Princess Mary’s happiness regarding Anne’s miscarriage. Princess Katherine suspects that Princess Mary played a role in Anne’s separation from King Henry. Princess Mary is warmly welcomed back to the castle.

A week had passed since Anne and King Henry’s divorce was finalized. King Henry was ready to marry Jane, and Princess Mary was going to be her bridesmaid. The two went to see Princess Katherine to invite her to the wedding, but sadly, she declined the invitation.

“I am sorry, but I cannot come to your wedding. I do not approve of what you did to Anne,” she said.

Jane was taken aback by her response and replied angrily, “I thought you would be happy that Anne pays for what she had done to you!”

Princess Katherine was hurt by Jane’s words and replied, “I am not happy. I was hurt about Henry divorcing me, but I made peace with it. I did not want revenge. Do you even love Henry, or did you just steal him from Anne for revenge or jealousy?” Her tone was angry and disappointed.

“I am also let down by you, Mary. If you played a role in breaking up your father’s marriage to Anne, you should feel ashamed! How could you betray your own sister like that? I want both of you to leave immediately!” Princess Katherine commands.

Princess Mary and Jane departed without uttering a single word. Jane was astonished that Princess Katherine was taking Anne’s side. Princess Katherine’s words did make Jane feel guilty about her actions.
