Chapter 11
She opened her eyes realising they were in cave, ‘Where am I? What is this place? Wait a minute, how did I get here? The deer? Roy?’ looking back she saw that he was sleeping. ‘He’s okay. Was I dreaming? Was this shit real?’ Suzy rubbed her head and thought aloud, ‘I swear this deer was a guy and a handsome one in fact. Wait what I’m saying; I can’t like this guy not after what Ethan did to me.’
She got up and checked on the deer, apparently she didn’t remember anything before smiling at his wound, ‘You’re healed? It’s like a miracle’ and she hugged him.
Roy and Gold felt her heartbeat melting into his chest and her joy that flowed through him shattered his hardness.
‘She got everything we need. How can we let go her, Roy?’ Gold frowned.
‘The less she remembers the better for us, Gold,’ Roy answered feeling sad after that whole explanation they gave which shocked her.
‘Don’t lie yourself; you want her to remember, don’t you? I can’t help it either; you and I both know we like her,’ Gold admitted and Roy frowned sighing, ‘Will you stop it? You think I don’t want to keep her too.’
Gold scolded, ‘Then why you don’t do something about it’ and he shifted right before her eyes, into his human form and pinned her on the ground.
‘Oh my goodness! I wasn’t dreaming!’ Suzy yelled looking at the platinum colour fused with turquoise in his grey eyes. She struggled beneath him, ‘Let me go, you idiotic deer!’ kicking him.
Roy felt Gold’s pride was hurt and warned, ‘Missy, I would recommend if you choose your next set of words wisely. Or else you won’t leave here.’
‘Listen Roy, Gold, whoever you are, I’m not the type of woman you can just mess with and walk away,’ Suzy answered using all her strength in her knees to keep her up as she headbutt his forehead as he loosened his grasp on her wrist as she rolled over on him placing the knife at his throat.
Roy smirked at the shinning blade in her hand, ‘You just rescue me and now you want to kill me?’
‘There’s not much of a choice,’ Suzy replied pressing the blade against his neck’s skin as cut it a little bit.
Roy winced in pain as it bleed and furrowed his eyes, ‘So this is how it is, huh?’
‘I don’t want to this,’ Suzy thought trying to control herself from hesitating but the sadness in her heart swelled up for this guy and the deer she saved just a few minutes ago.
Roy and Gold sensed the hesitation and unhappiness in her soul. He looked in her brown eyes there was a flickering golden light surrounded by sliver with pain. He held her still admiring her full lips and chest before closing his eyes slightly.
‘Are you surrendering to this woman, Roy?’ Gold asked and waited for her to strike and then he heard the knife dropped onto the ground and she leaned forward kissing his forehead and hugged him; feeling her tears covered his cheeks and lips. Gold and him were surprised. This woman out of all women he knew shocked him the most in his entire life. His eyes shot opened noticing how beautiful she looked up close and, now she was facing him.
‘Can’t kill me, huh?’ Roy teased her as she punched his shoulder.
Suzy blushed rolling her eyes, ‘You’ve just became my friend consider yourself family’ about to get up but she felt him hold her tightly onto him.
‘Family? I prefer lover, sweetheart,’ Roy smirked and she pulled his ear as he winced, ‘Okay, okay, family we are, just stop it.’
Suzy stopped and smiled, ‘Great! So bro, how do I get back to Tyler’s Bed & Breakfast?’
Before he could speak, they heard a loud roar waking up the peaceful forest.
‘What was that? A bear?’ Suzy looked frightened.
Roy thought, ‘It’s Tyler’ and Gold added, ‘He’s close by, you need to get her out of here.’ He nodded, ‘Get on my back I’ll bring you back to Tyler’s Bed & Breakfast’ and she watched him snooped down and she hopped onto his back as he shifted into his deer form. ‘We can’t start a war with him yet,’ Roy told Gold who agreed and ran out of the cave luring them off his scent and trail as they heard a stampeded heading their direction.
‘Roy? Gold? What’s going on?’ Suzy asked worriedly and he spoke telepathically to her.
‘There’s nothing to be worry about. I’ll just you drop off at the corner and then you'll make a run for it. Just brace yourself to be drop off,’ Roy explained.
Suzy raised his eyes, ‘What? Drop off?’ and then she saw the corner he was talking about and he threw off as she screamed alerting the animals and other bear shifters as she rolled into the snow while her snowboard land at her side. ‘Ow... my body hurts’ and she watched him escape disappearing into the forest. When the others arrived, Suzy noticed it was Tyler, Tommy, Ronny and their friends she met at the bar.
‘Suzy? What happen to you? Where were you?’ Tyler asked scooting next to her noticing the blood stain; sensing it was from another shifter.
Suzy looked up groaning and lied, ‘I was snowboarding remember and then I heard a sound of a bear roaring and ran as fast as I could here,’ breathing heavily.
He pulled her into his arms and sighed, ‘Next time don’t go snowboarding alone; tell me when you want to go out or the guys, okay. I can’t afford to lose you’ and then his whispered, ‘to them.’
‘I’m sorry I didn’t know,’ Suzy apologised truthfully and overheard his whisper. ‘Does he mean Roy? Or the bears? Or the shifters?’
Tyler helped her up looking at her with concern and a bit pissed off because he smelt Roy’s scent on her, ‘Where were you really, Suzy?’
‘I was with an injured deer. Poachers shot it down so I helped it. Afterwards, it just disappeared without a trance before I overheard a bear roaring and I ran back to your place. I was so scared, Tyler,’ Suzy answered embracing him.
He realised she was a bit shaken by the situation and thought, ‘Those damn poachers won’t stop hunting us down. And, I need to have a talk with Roy.’ Softening his gaze on Suzy, while his friends sensed Alpha Deer’s scent as well; making their bears growled with disgust. ‘How about we go inside and warm you up with some hot cocoa?’ He suggested.
Suzy lifted her brown golden eyes as tears slid from them surprising him as she nodded timidly, ‘Okay, will there be marshmallows in it?’
‘Of course, come on, sunshine,’ Tyler answered watching her release herself from him with a heartwarming playful smile.
Her reaction exploded a sensation through his entire body, Dakota wanted to grab her and kiss the living daylights of her soul, lips and body. Arousing her in every possible until breaking the climax’s limit.
Yet, he controlled Dakota, ‘Down boy, she isn’t ready for us.’
His bear rolled his eyes and laughed, ‘Trust me don’t be too surprised if I tell she was because she is.’
Roy smirked as his thoughts went wild watching her butt and hips sway with a tropical house rhythm that took him to the Caribbean. She pulled the door opened and entered as he and his friends followed in hot pursuit.
As soon as they settled down in the dining room, Tyler and his sou-chef, Andrew brought in a tray of hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows. He handed Suzy her mug as she received it with a smile.
‘Thank you,’ she thanked him before smelling the warm chocolaty milky cocoa aroma.
Tyler watched her lips clamped a small marshmallows in her mouth as she sucked in it, instantly, he overheard Dakota’s thought, ‘She needs to be doing this to us and not that thing.’ He smirked, ‘I know how you feel Dakota it won’t take long for us to claim this woman.’ He bear stood up dancing jolly, while singing, ‘She’s ours,’ repeatedly in a goofy tone while waggling his butt and Tyler covered his laughter with a firm mischievous smirk and answered her, ‘You’re welcome, Suzy’ and sat down beside her. Then Tommy came over handed him some documents.
‘These are the applications for the waitress position,’ he confirmed.
Suzy’s eyes widened curiously and saw a stack of papers in the file and thought, ‘Many people applied for this job. Like Emily and Cassandra said only male employees work here so why hired a waitress to be around sexy guys twenty-four seven?’
Sipping her hot cocoa glancing at Tyler before Tommy whispered in his ear that made him super happy as he faced with her winking. She averted her gaze to the windows looking at the snow fall.
