Chapter 435
As soon as Derek came home from work, he heard his son's soft voice in the room. He was actually reading a storybook. Derek couldn't help but laugh and walked over.
"Hi, dad.” Easton heard the sound and ran out immediately.
"Did you take good care of mom today?" He touched his head.
The little guy pursed his lips, "Of course. I know what to do. Humph." After that, he ran back to his room.
Easton had a good time these days. He stayed with his parents every day and slept with them at night.
He sent his son to the bodyguard and went into the room to accompany Meredith. He told her about the so-called stealing case briefly.
"You mean, there was no design flowing to the AK group, and the whole thing was a lie?" Meredith was shocked.
"That's right. It's the senior shareholders who did it. They are no longer in the Xavier Group. The whole company knows you were wronged. When you recover, you can go back to work at any time."
"I promise that no one will discuss about it."
Meredith was silent.
During the past few days at home, she often recalled the day she was taken away. She calmed down and thought about it. There was much suspicious place.
Especially in the interrogation room, those people were just trying to make her confess under torture, and the more they behaved in this way, the more it became clear that there was something wrong with this event and that someone was trying to frame her.
Now that it was confirmed from what Derek said, the problem arose again.
She had only been at Xavier Group's headquarters for less than a month, and even if someone wanted to frame her, it was impossible for the senior shareholders to involve.
Let alone there were three senior shareholders who were involved in framing her, a small design director. It sounded ridiculous, but since that was the case, there was only one final explanation. "Derek... Is that your mother?" Her voice was cold.
Derek froze, his heart got tense, and his brows immediately tightened. He didn't know what to say. To tell her it's not his mother? He didn't want to lie to her. However, to tell her it's his mother? He didn't know how to say it.
His silence showed Meredith his answer.
She didn't know how she was feeling at the moment. Sure enough, she didn't have to be surprised, did she? According to Violet's personality and ways of doing things, it would be strange if she didn't do anything after she provoked her last time.
"Meredith, don't worry. I'll give you an explanation as for my mother.”
Meredith sighed in her heart and said faintly, "You go out. I want to sleep alone for a while.” "Meredith..."
Derek still wanted to say something else, but Meredith lay down on her side, obviously unwilling to talk more. His face immediately darkened and he pinched his temples tiredly.
At this moment, his phone rang. He took it out and looked at it. His face turned cold. He looked at Meredith and gently closed the door and left.
In the Xaviers mansion.
It was Violet who called Derek. There had been such a big event at the company, and all her people had been discovered, either leaving or being prisoned. It was no wonder that Violet would be so angry.
"Tell me what happened to those directors of the company? What did they do to make you do this?"
Derek sat across from her and looked at her, "Don't you know best what those people did?" Violet's heart skipped a beat and her face darkened. She did not deny it. After all, she knew that with her son's ability, she could not hide it.
"That's right, the matter of Design Department is my order. I just want to teach that Meredith a little lesson. Do you have to be so aggressive?”
Violet's understatement completely angered Derek.
With a swish, he stood up abruptly, his face darkening, "A little lesson? What a relief. Meredith is Easton's mother and my favorite person. You didn't care anything and did all the things to get her into jail. Have you ever cared about how me, your son, feels? Do you take me seriously? You even made use of the company. You're so imposing.”
"That was the case five years ago. Do you really think that I didn't care about what you did to Meredith back then? That's because I thought Meredith had died and she wouldn't come back no matter what I did."
"But it's different now. She finally came back to me. I won't allow anyone to harm her, including you."
"I've gotten even with the people in company. There are some debts between us. And even if you don't look for me, I'll look for you."
Violet was startled by his sudden outburst and stared at her son in a doze. When she regained her senses, her face turned red, and she trembled all over, completely devoid of grace.
"You, you, what do you want to do? Oh, you mean, you want to do the same to me for that woman, don't you? How dare you."
Derek said sternly, "You are the one who are so daring. Don't think that you can do whatever you want just because you are my mother. Mother, don't forget the rules of the Xaviers. The Xaviers has been ruled by men for generations. Women who marry into our family have no right to speak.”
"If my father hadn't died when I was a child, how could you, a woman who doesn't even have shares in the Xavier Group, have the right to do such things?"
"These rights are given to you by the men from the Xaviers. You only have them because the men gave them to you. If they didn't give any right to you, you cannot do anything.”
For the first time, Derek said these words to Violet, and she was completely at a mess.
She widened her eyes, unable to believe that her son, who had been brought up by herself, would grow up to treat her like this for a woman, and she could not accept it no matter what.
Violet covered her chest, her face pale, and she looked like she was about to fall.
Derek closed his eyes and hardened his heart, "Mother, if you are not feeling well, take a good rest. That's all I want to say. Please behave yourself." Then he strode away.
In the top floor of the house.
"Master, the young master just came back and had an argument with madam. Madam seems to be so angry that she doesn't feel well,” the housekeeper reported.
Mr. Xavier was standing on the balcony, cutting the potted plants with scissors. After a while, he stopped.
"Humph, don't worry. No one forced her to marry in our family back then. After all these years, Violet's behavior has really gone beyond the rules of the Xaviers. It's time for someone to control her a bit."
Ten days passed, the gauze over Meredith's eyes had been taken off, and she finally recovered. She returned to work at the Xavier Group.
On the day of work, more people paid attention to her and more people greeted her. What's more, there seemed to be a trace of respect in their passionate tone of greeting. She didn't know if it was her illusion.
