The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 285

Derek brought Easton home.

Now, he lived alone in the apartment where Meredith had lived.

He wanted to stay here. He could feel her.

He also wanted to spend as much time with Easton as possible. He wants to make up for Easton. He would double and even triple his love to do that.

Therefore, there was no one else in this villa except Nanny Zhang, who was trustworthy and usually responsible for taking care of the children.

"You're back, young master.”

Seeing Derek coming back, Nanny Zhang picked up Easton and said, "Dinner is ready.”

Derek nodded, and Nanny Zhang carried Easton to his bedroom. She put Easton on the thick carpet and let him crawl around to play.

She shook her head when she saw that he was holding a toy with some saliva on it and it looked dirty.

Nanny Zhang reached out her hand because she was afraid that he might get diarrhea from eating unclean food. She wanted to bring the rabbit toy over.

Easton, however, held on tightly to his hand, with an expression that he would never give in to anyone else.

"Young master, I just want to clean it up..."

Nanny Zhang didn't take it seriously. Easton had a lot of toys, and he rarely cared about anything. However, protecting young master from any physical discomfort was her responsibility.

She didn't expect the little one was somehow strong. It took her quite a while to take the toy from his hand. She headed out to disinfect it, but Easton twiched his lips and cried.

It seems like the toy is little Easton's whole world. Once it was taken away, his world collapsed. Nanny Zhang sprayed some disinfectant fluid on the toy and quickly went back to coax Easton.

His chubby little hands were waving around, and his calves were kicking Nanny Zhang's body everywhere. He kept struggling, as if he didn't know her.

"What happened?”

Derek, who was having dinner, heard the cry in the room and walked in frowning.

Nanny Zhang was someone who had looked after a lot of children. She was very good at dealing with children and was recommended by his grandfather. Derek never doubted her ability.

This seemed to be the first time that something like this had happened to her.

"I just want to clean and disinfect it..."

Nanny Zhang looked helplessly at Derek. She walked around, swaying Easton in her arms, and gently patting his hand. It was usually a very effective way to appease baby, but now it was useless. Easton's hands and feet were moving, and he was crying at the top of his voice. Not long after, the small white face was flushed from crying for lack of oxygen, and at the same time, his clear voice was a little hoarse.

"There, there. Here is the rabbit." Nanny Zhang had no choice but to give the gray rabbit back to Easton.

However, Easton used his small hand to hold onto it for a while, but he continued to cry.

The smell on the toy was soothing just like the beautiful lady who gave it to him. But now, it's all the smell of disinfectant fluid.

Although Easton was still very little, he remembered the scent of Meredith. It was so warm, serene, and soothing. It was completely from any other smells.

This time, Nanny Zhang was completely helpless.

Although Easton had cried before, he had never been like this. If he continued like this, he would have to cry his throat out.

That would be a big responsibility for her.

"Give him to me."

Derek took Easton into his hands and tried to appease him, but didn't work.

Easton's crying was very upsetting.

Derek's brows furrowed as he heard Easton's cry grow louder and louder. As if he had thought of something, Derek suddenly said, "You want the lady who gave you the toy? Do you want me to call her over?"

Easton's eyes blinked. Although he was only a few months, Derek's words seemed to have magic power, which made the baby feel a little happier. Miraculously, tears stopped and Easton nodded. Nanny Zhang was stunned. What was going on? Who was that person?

A single sentence had managed to coax the crying young master.

Seeing Easton's reaction, the speculation in Derek's heart surfaced even more.

Although there was no evidence, Easton's reaction only made him wonder.

Was that woman really Meredith?

Thinking about it, Derek immediately called Amelia.

Amelia was a little surprised when she got the call. "What's wrong? What happened?”

"Is that woman still here today?"

Derek's simple words scared Amelia into a cold sweat.

Was it discovered?

"She's off work... What's wrong?"

Amelia did not lie about this. Meredith was taken away by Parker, and she was not here now. Derek frowned. "Easton is crying now. I need someone to comfort him. I think they're quite close to each other, so I want her to take care of him at the Xaviers, the salary would be doubled.”

Amelia breathed a sigh of relief, but she was also worried when she heard that her little grandson was not being properly coaxed.

But let Meredith take care of him at Derek's place?

She couldn't be so careless. If anything happened, she couldn't bear it.

"l would ask her about this..."

"Where is she now? Easton is making a fuss to find her. If he can't find her, he might just keep on like this."

Amelia gritted her teeth. In the background, she did hear some children crying and shook her head. Was this the child's natural attachment to his mother?

If he kept crying like this, she couldn't bear it, so she hesitated for a while. "I'll contact her now. Wait a minute."

Derek was not in a hurry. At this time, Damian called and said that he had found out where Parker lived after he returned home.

"Is there a woman with him?"

Derek asked faintly. Damian thought for a moment, "Yes."

"What's the name..."

"I don't know, but that woman looks a little mysterious. Should I investigate more?”

"No."

After hearing this, Derek had basically come to a conclusion that the woman was probably Meredith...

Didn't she die?

Then why did she pretend to be dead?

And the Xaviers, why would they lie to him with Parker?

Derek asked for the address of the hotel, picked up Easton, and left.
