The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 284

Meredith was absent-mindedly brewing the milk powder when Amelia came looking for her.

She looked at her daughter with concern. "How are you? Are you okay?"

Just now, Meredith had been reluctant to put the child down. Amelia was worried that her newly recovered body would not be able to bear it.

"I'm... Very well.”

Meredith couldn't tell her feelings. When she saw Easton, the child she thought about for so long, she was bittersweet.

If only it could continue like this.

Unfortunately, it was utterly impossible.

Meredith washed the milk powder, carefully tested the temperature in her hand, and then looked at her worried mother. "I'm fine. I'm happy to see him."

As she spoke, Meredith walked into the room and saw Derek hold Easton, who was enjoying himself with his toys. She could not tell what she felt.

After seeing Easton, her hatred for Derek also faded a lot.

Given time, perhaps one day the pain in her heart would be smoothed out, and she would get out of grudges.

With a deep sigh in her heart, Meredith walked over and said, "The milk powder is ready." Speaking of this, Meredith felt a little guilty. She had read a lot of books about mother and baby health and knew that breastfeeding was the best for newborns, but...

She did not have such a chance. What a pity!

Derek took it over and inadvertently, the fingers of both of them overlapped. Meredith jumped away as if she had been electrocuted.

Perhaps it was a psychological effect. When Derek touched her, she would feel uncomfortable, fearful, and resistant.

Derek looked at her unnatural movements and did not speak, but his eyes were deeper.

He remembered this woman.

He was going to ask someone to look into it later as he felt that something was wrong.

Derek didn't like the feeling that others hid something from him.

Thinking about it, the man did not speak to Meredith again. After feeding Easton milk powder, he finalized some details with Amelia and then left.

Meredith see them at the door and watched as Easton landed in the car. She watched the car leave her sight before returning to the room, feeling lost.

Amelia comforted her. "It's okay. You can still see each other afterwards.”

Meredith nodded. "I'm relieved to know that he's doing well, but...”

Still, such a short period time of company with her son was far from enough.

Amelia didn't say anything. She just walked over and hugged her daughter. The two of them snuggled up to each other and didn't say a word.

Derek sat in the back seat. Ever since he had Easton, he rarely drove himself.

Easton was too young to be alone in the back seat. He had to look after him to feel at ease.

As a result, all the drivers came to pick him up, which reassured the Xaviers who had been worried about his having another accident.

"Ahhh..."

Easton clutched the little toy that Meredith had given him. It was an ordinary looking little grey rabbit. Compared to the expensive and exquisite toys that the Xaviers had bought for him, it was simply crude.

However, Easton seemed to like it and kept holding on.

"Like this?"

Derek rarely saw Easton being stubborn about anything. He had too many toys, and he used to lose interest in many of them after playing for a few seconds and threw them aside.

Only this ordinary rabbit.

Derek took the thing in his hand and looked at it. Suddenly, a familiar feeling welled up in his heart. This rabbit...

He felt that he had seen it somewhere before...

Thinking about it, Derek frowned.

Just then, a car drove past the window and Parker came to pick up Meredith.

Derek naturally had some impressions of Parker's car. After all, it was he who drove his car directly to the repair shop because he was angry.

Parker... What exactly was he going to do?

"Follow that car. Be careful.”

Derek ordered faintly, Parker... a strange nanny... The combination of these two factors gave him a strange uneasiness.

Her heart began to beat faster.

After hearing Derek's order, the driver immediately turned around. However, since he was worried that the windy car would attract attention, he could only follow from afar to maintain the distance. Derek watched as the car turned into the road to the villa of the Masons. "That's it."

He had already figured out Parker's destination. It was indeed the Masons, so there was no need to alarm them.

"Go back."

The driver immediately drove back in the same direction as before.

Was this all a coincidence?

Derek smiled coldly. He never believed that there were coincidences in this world for no reason. So... There must be some secrets hidden inside.

Derek immediately called Damian and asked him to arrange for someone to check on Parker's recent activities.

One thought made his breathing quicken.

Perhaps, Meredith was really not dead. If Parker wanted to help her escape from her shell and have that woman from now on, it was not impossible.

"If it's true... Parker, you can never achieve your goal.”

Derek's eyes flashed with a hint of cruelty. He would not let anyone take Meredith away from him. Besides, he looked at Easton, who was tired from playing, rubbing his eyes and feeling sleepy... Meredith was the mother of his children, so it was only reasonable for them to form a family, wasn't it?
