The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 255

Chloe's beauty meant nothing to Derek.

He glanced at her indifferently, not as if he were looking at a woman who would spend the rest of her life with him in the future, but just a nobody.

Chloe was upset by his glance, but she couldn't say it out. She could only bite her words back, smiled, and walked over to hold Derek's arm, "The ceremony will start soon, let's go."

Derek wanted to get rid of Chloe the moment he was touched by her, but he forced himself to hold back. The reporters were all taking pictures, and Violet was fixing her eyes on him from behind. He had to walk step by step towards the center of the hall.

"Chloe, did you touch my phone that day?"

Derek could easily guess who had done such a boring thing. Besides being indifferent to Chloe, he was even more disgusted with her.

The once noble and kind woman had changed a lot.

"What are you talking about? I ... I don't understand.”

Of course, Chloe knew what he meant, but she still pretended to be innocent, as if she really knew nothing about what he said.

"You know exactly what I am talking about.”

Derek saw a flash of panic in her eyes and was more certain that she had done some dirty things behind his back.

Was this so-called the life partner that his mother and the whole the Xaviers had carefully selected for him?

No, it was all for family interests.

"Derek, do you have a prejudice against me? I really..."

Chloe wanted to explain, but Derek waved his hand. "There's no need to explain. I don't want to hear it."

"But let me be clear: you want to be my wife? Okay. But I won't let you get anything you want. No matter what happens in the future, it will be your own fault!"

Derek's voice was bitterly cold at the thought of what he and Meredith had been through for so long because of this woman, and Meredith was threatened with life.

Chloe trembled. Fortunately, her dress was very heavy; no one noticed that she had forgotten herself for a moment.

Derek's expression just now was terrible. She had never seen him like this before. He was extremely aloof and angry, like an irritated beast.

What would her future be like?

For a second, Chloe didn't know whether it was right or wrong for her to put in all her effort to marry Derek.

Just as she was lost in thought, Derek had pulled her onto the stage.

Chloe managed to calm herself down. She couldn't show her flaws. This was the most important moment of her life. She had to be beautiful and perfect.

As the new couple received the blessings of the guests, both of them had their own thoughts. They didn't even look at each other sweetly once.

The guests were unaware of the strangeness as they were all amazed at the perfect match, but not Chloe's parents.

There was no joy in their daughter's eyes on such a big day, and their son-in-law looked aloof and unapproachable. Something must go wrong.

Could the two of them live a happy life together?

"Mrs. Xavier, is Derek... in a bad mood?"

Chloe's mother talked to Violet. Derek was indifferent to her daughter in public, and she could not imagine how aggrieved her daughter would be in private.

Although the good old days of the Bennetts were gone, and the marriage was now out of Chloe's league, but as a mother, she wanted her daughter to be happy.

"He's ... not feeling well today. Don't worry. He'll be nice to Chloe in the future. I know my son. He hasn't been in relationships for a long time or got close to any woman, but time will help.”

Violet was squeezing her handbag. She knew exactly what was going on. Derek's behavior was like a slap in her face.

However, it was the climax of the ceremony. With so many people watching, she could not say anything. Instead, she vented her anger on Meredith, who was thousands of miles away.

If it wasn't for that woman.

Violet was fierce. She got the photos and recordings of the engagement ceremony from the cameraman, and then she sent them to the doctor who was taking care of Meredith on the uninhabited island.

"Madam, What are these?"

It was morning on the uninhabited island. Meredith had just gotten out of bed, and the doctor was taking her temperature.

"Show her." Violet ordered.

She wanted Meredith to see what a perfect match was like so that Meredith would completely give up her son.

"Isn't that too..."

The doctor couldn't bear to let a pregnant woman watch the father of her child getting married to another woman. It was too cruel.

"What do you mean?”

Violet added coldly, "If you have any sympathy for her that you shouldn't have, I don't mind replacing you with someone else.”

If he offended the Xaviers, it would be difficult for him to find any other new job. The doctor's hands were tied. He asked the servant to play the videos that Violet sent on the screen outside. If Meredith didn't go out, she wouldn't be able to watch them

And he wouldn't feel so guilty by doing so.

"You look very strange.”

Meredith looked at the doctor and frowned, "Is there something wrong with the baby?"

Meredith just stayed here with boredom and waited to give birth. She wanted to run away, but there was nothing she could do other than waiting here quietly.

Therefore, all she focused on was her baby, and she worried about anything that might harm the baby.

"No... The baby is healthy. Miss Mason, there's no need to worry.”

The doctor stammered, "If you don't have anything special to do today, please don't go out.” Meredith was even more confused. The doctor required her to go out for a walk every day. If she stayed in bed all the time, she might have some trouble giving birth.

Why was he acting so strangely today?

Meredith felt something wrong, and she heard some unfamiliar sounds came from outside.

It was an uninhabited island without any signal or the Internet. Life was boring here. Although it was equipped with a home theater, she had only heard some soothing light music. However, the sound outside was nothing like music.

It sounded like someone was talking...
