The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 238

"Your child's father? Who's that coward? You're now lying in the hospital and he doesn't even care about you. How well do you think he will be to you?"

It was better not to mention it. Derek's anger could not be suppressed at the mention of the so- called father of the child.

A man would leave a woman who was pregnant with his baby abroad, and Meredith would mention him from time to time. This made him angry.

What was this if it was not looking for trouble on her own?

When Meredith heard this, she suddenly found it very funny.

It was so close that she would tell him the identity of the child. But now, Derek was right in front of her. He didn't know that the child in her womb was his, and he was just saying something to show disdain.

What a funny scene!

Meredith couldn't help but laugh, but the sour feeling in her eyes made her cover her face, and she quickly concealed her weakness. "It's none of your business. Mr. Xavier just needs to take care of your wedding and fiancée. Besides, don't let her know that you are unfaithful in love and that you're flirting with other girls. If she finds out, I'm afraid she'll start a fight with you.”

"You..." Derek was still holding back his anger. But when he heard Meredith mention the word “fiancée”, he suddenly didn't know what to say.

These should be strictly confidential. How would Meredith know?

Meredith could not help but laugh at herself when she saw that the man who had always been so eloquent had nothing to say. As expected, she was just a plaything Derek had found outside of marriage. She was a fool, and she was played by him.

Fortunately, it wasn't too late to know the reality. Now that Derek didn't know the identity of the child, she could still run away with the baby. She and her child could run far away from all these rights and wrongs.

"Is there nothing else to say?" Meredith said sarcastically, "Mr. Xavier, although in your eyes, a person like me is like an ant that can be trampled to death with just one foot, I have a sense of shame and won't be the third party who destroys someone's family. So, isn't it good for everyone that I want to break up with you now?"

Derek turned on the light. The glaring light made both of them very uncomfortable. The man looked at Meredith's expression, and on her face, he could only see a thick layer of sarcasm and resistance.

How on earth did they get to this point...

"Meredith, about the engagement..."

Derek subconsciously wanted to say it out that he and Chloe reached an agreement that it was only a formal engagement, and there would be no substantive relationship between them and she misunderstood.

But Meredith covered her ears. "I'm sorry, I don't want to hear it."

She really didn't want to hear the story between him and Chloe. She had heard it countless times. They were like princesses and princes who got together after breaking up in a fairy tale. What was she?

Perhaps, she was just a vicious supporting actress who overestimated her strength and wanted to disturb them.

"If you don't want to provoke me anymore and if you don't want me to die here, I beg you to get out of here and let me be here alone. I will return your things to you. Please, let me go."

At this point, Derek did not know what to say and especially when he saw Meredith's pale face, he remembered the doctor's advice to him.

Meredith couldn't be stimulated anymore. He didn't dare to say anything more. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so lucky this time.

"Okay, I'll go. You stay here and have a good rest.”

"I won't see you out, and... I hope the last time I see you is to deal with our separation. Besides that, I don't want to see you again!"

Meredith said these words calmly, but those words pierced Derek's heart like a thorn.

Suppressing the restlessness in his heart, Derek turned and left.

Meredith watched him walk out, breathing heavily. The pain in her chest did not alleviate and it became even more intense.

Perhaps this was the so-called heartbreak. He did not explain or perhaps, he also knew that he was in the wrong, so he did not dare to explain anything, right?

Meredith closed her eyes wearily and unconsciously stroked her abdomen. She still had a child. Although Derek had completely made her give up, she wanted to give birth to the child.

The child belonged to her alone. Even if she had nothing now, the baby was still there and she could only hold on and walk on.

A few days later.

Meredith was discharged from the hospital.

Damian was waiting downstairs early. When he saw her come out, he wished to speak but stopped on a second thought.

"What's the matter? Are you going to deal with the thing between me and him?"

Meredith shrugged indifferently. After a few days, she was able to hide her emotions well

At the very least, she would no longer show her weakness in front of outsiders.

"Yes... If it's not convenient for you right now, you can..."

They did come here to deal with this matter.

"It's okay. I'm fine. Just tell me what you want to say.”

Speaking of this, Meredith still sighed with emotion. She had known Damian for a long time. He had taught her a lot and helped her a lot, so Meredith had no resentment towards him.

Damian nodded and took Meredith to a private room in a coffee shop not far away.

Derek was already waiting there. As soon as Meredith entered, she saw the man sitting by the window, looking at the scenery outside the window with an indifferent expression.

He was still as good-looking as ever, his well-manicured suit outlined his perfect figure, his delicate face shining like a star in the sun. Meredith looked at her ordinary or even mediocre outfit, and the feeling of being unable to reach him reappeared

They, as expected, were not from the same world..

Now that she was standing next to Derek like this and someone might consider her as his nanny. "This is the agreement boss gave you."

Damian said, interrupting Meredith's whims and handing over a brown paper bag with a thick stack of documents.

Meredith took it, and before she opened it, she couldn't help but laugh. Derek was really not an ordinary person. Even if it was just that they would break up, he had to make such a fuss.

He gave her such a thick pile of documents and made such a fuss. Was he afraid that she would do something to damage his reputation?

Derek could not help but frown when he saw her expression on the glass.

This woman could still laugh. Was she heartless?

Meredith took out the contents. Sure enough, there was a confidentiality agreement and some messy clauses which said that Meredith could not reveal their relationship at will.

The more Meredith looked at it, the more amused she became. She thought that they were breaking up. But in the eyes of Derek, it may be that he just got rid of someone who was shortsighted.

Without thinking, Meredith took the pen and signed her name on it.

"Is this okay?"

Meredith didn't want to stay any longer. After signing, she wanted to leave.
