The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 218

If Meredith was still around, he really didn't know how to face her.

Derek went upstairs and opened the door, only to find that there was someone in the room. He frowned and turned on the lights. Then he saw Meredith sleeping on the sofa.

She hadn't left yet?

Derek looked at Meredith leaning on the sofa. Since she was pregnant, her posture was a little awkward. Her high and bulging abdomen was leaning on a cushion. She didn’t sleep well and her eyebrows were furrowed.

Derek couldn't help but reach out and smooth out the wrinkles on her brows. Just as he touched them, Meredith woke up.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Derek's striking face. She was in a daze for a moment before she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "You're back?"

Meredith saw that it was dark outside and asked subconsciously, "Have you had dinner?”

Of course Derek had finished dinner. However, when she asked, he realized something. "You haven't had dinner yet?"

The man's tone was tinged with anger. This woman could not take care of her body at all. When she was pregnant and hungry, she was still sitting on the sofa with nothing on top of her.

She was crazy.

"I fell asleep.” Meredith rubbed her legs. Since she was pregnant, her whole body ached after sitting there for a while.

Seeing her like this, Derek felt helpless and distressed. "Next time, don't wait for me like this."

He didn't want to see her waiting for him like this.

"Derek, I feel that you look weird."

Meredith was sobered up by his words and couldn't help but say what she was thinking. "Do you have any grudges against me? If so, can you just say it? If what you say makes sense, I can change it."

Meredith did not want to continue this inexplicable cold war. She knew that when two people were together, they had to tolerate each other. Someone had to compromise to make it last.

She would rather Derek had pointed out her shortcomings than keep guessing what he was thinking.

"... Derek was silent for a while. Still, there was nothing for him to say.

It was not her fault. It was just... There was no way out.

Thinking about it, the man was also very upset. He looked at the time and said, "I'll get someone to bring you food. After you eat, go home."

Meredith was delighted to know that Derek would order her favorite dishes from the menu. However, when she heard that he was trying to drive her away, she couldn't understand. "Why do you always want to drive me away? Do I disturb your work here?"

Derek glanced at her. Meredith was angry and looked a little more cute than the moment when she had just woken up. His eyes dimmed. "Yes. With you here, I can't concentrate on my work. So you have to go back.”

Meredith sneered. "But you never said that before when you asked me to make you coffee and let me stand like a stake in your office.”

It was not like she didn't work with Derek before. She was the one who made him coffee all the time. Didn't he find this excuse ridiculous?

Derek choked on her words. This woman did not become stupid when she was pregnant. Moreover, she had a sharper tone.

There were knocks on the door when he didn't know how to refute it. "Sir, your order has arrived."
