Chapter Welcome to the World

Max POV

I woke up before dawn, and Ares was already restless inside me. Every day he wanted to hunt early morning before our mate was awake. His sense of provider was even more prominent now that she was carrying the pups.

I looked at her side with my wolf eyes, and Julie slept peacefully, knowing nothing could hurt her. I sniffed the air sucking in her scent before I left and rubbed her enormous belly. The pups would be arriving any day now.

With a good feeling inside me, I walked barefoot to the back entrance and shifted quickly, letting Ares take over. “Go on, you beast. You better get your biggest prey today. You woke me up earlier than usual.” But I knew something was up with Ares. He was restless the whole night.

He had started the run towards the forest, and I could feel his confused mind. “I feel something, Kid. But I don’t know what it is yet.”

“Are you feeling any danger coming, Ares?” Everything was great at the pack now, and the last thing we needed was any surprises. “Last time you went restless like that, it was not good news.”

Ares pushed fast deep into the forest. There was where we would find the best meal. “No! I cannot feel any danger, Max. I cannot explain the feeling. But I have an instinct we will find out soon enough.” I felt relieved that it was not the danger he was feeling. Anything else we could live with.

Ares sniffed the air, and there was a stag nearby, and I hoped it was a big one. Ares went for the kill, and it was the biggest we had seen. The Omegas in the kitchen would be happy.

After killing it, Ares shifted to human as we went hunt alone; he would not be able to carry it in wolf form. Halfway home, I felt joy inside me. Ares dropped the stag on the ground, shifted back to a wolf, looked up and howled at the still-dark sky.

The sun was yet to start to rise, and it was the happiest howl I had heard and felt from him. “It is time, kid. I can feel the pups calling for me.” He left the meal behind and ran back to the pack house so fast that the ground shook every time his pawls hit it. I laughed in his mind. That was the reason for him to be so restless. The pups are coming into our world.

When we returned to the house, I shifted back and was pleased that Ares did not stay in control. He knew I would be more helpful to Julie than him. I put on the sweatpants I found on the pile and stormed upstairs to our room.

Julie was already awake and looked at me, frowning in pain. “I think it is time, Max. They are pushing inside me.”

I helped her to sit on the bed and pulled her hair back from her face. “I know, my little wolf. Ares felt it and ran as fast as he could.”

Julie wanted the pups to be born at the pack hospital, and I carried her downstairs to the car. Many people were awake downstairs. They must have heard Ares’ howls of happiness and knew what that meant. The arrival of the new Alphas.

It would make us even more different than other packs. There had never been Alpha male twins before. Two Alphas will lead and strengthen the Blue Moon Pack when the time comes.

I helped Julie get comfortable in the car and sat in the driver’s seat. I was nervous and excited about this moment. Ares and I wanted our pups for many years, and they would soon be here. Smiling, I looked at her; pink eyes appeared for a minute, and I felt instantly calm.

“I have mindlinked, doctor Paul. He will be there soon and help you.” I knew Paul was expecting it, but not that early. I got the man out of bed as soon as Ares felt it.

Julie POV

Max and I were driving to the hospital, and I was very nervous. “It is time, Jules. I will help you. We will do it together.” I felt the love being poured inside me after her words. “Thank you, A. I was feeling restless.”

The twins were in a hurry to come into this world, and I was not prepared for them yet. There were many things I still had to learn about being a Luna, and now the Moon Goddess decided it was time to give me more obstacles in life, trusting the responsibilities and challenges that the twins will be for this world.

“I can feel your stormy mind, Jules. You are ready to take your part of the bargain, sweetie. I am with you and will be going nowhere.” I could feel her excitement inside me, and Aphrodite was right. I could not be afraid now, there was no time, and I had to trust the Moon Goddess.

Doctor Paul was already waiting for us at the hospital entrance and smiled at me as soon as we entered there. “Good morning, Luna. The little ones decided to enter this world early and wake up the whole pack.”

Max laughed, holding my waist. “They are showing their Alpha power already, Paul. Let’s get my mate comfortable to bring them to this world.” Max’s words had pride, and he could not wait to teach the pups everything he knew.

Doctor Paul held the heavy door for us. “Of course, Alpha. Please follow me.”

I was brought to a room, and Max did not leave my side. I started walking around the room, trying to feel comfortable with the pain, and he held my hand while I walked. “Let me help you lie down, little one. Are you feeling heavy?”

I nodded at him with ragged breaths, and he helped me lie down. Doctor Paul and his helpers were watching me. They were there to assist when needed. I was the one that would be doing all the job.

Max petted my hair and said nice words to me while Aphrodite calmed me down with her powers, and not even after one hour of arriving at the hospital, the twins were finally here and looking precisely like Aphrodite said they would.

Max put both on my chest, and tears of happiness streamed down my face. They had Max’s hair and green eyes. I could feel their Alpha aura already, and they had a lot of power. Those two bundles of joy that would bring chaos into our world looked perfect and like angels.

Max kissed my forehead and looked at me. His happiness was contagious. “Well done, little one. You made me the happiest Alpha in the world. You are small but courageous. I am lucky to have you by my side.”

He sat near the bed, and doctor Paul came to check on the twins. Before he could grab them from my chest, things changed in the room. Doctor Paul and his helpers started to breathe heavily. I felt the air change, and their deepest fears were brought out. I saw their hands closing and their bodies’ shaking like mine when I felt the fear inside me. I looked at the pups; they lay on my chest calmly, as if they were not using their powers.

Ares took control and roared into the room, and the twins stopped manipulating the feelings of anyone there. The pups recognised their father’s commands and knew he was the Alpha in charge. Aphrodite came quickly to the surface and poured love inside the room, calming everyone and taking the terror feeling away from them.

I knew from now on, that was the way it would be. They were too small, and it was our job to make them stop before we taught them right from wrong. Max noticed I was lost in my thoughts and rubbed my cheek.

“You don’t have to worry, Julie. I will get the Omegas to arrange everything at the wooden cabin, and we can leave there instead of the pack house. It will be safer for everyone while they are learning.” Max nodded at doctor Paul, and he got them for a check-up. Max did not take his eyes off them in case they would use their powers again.

I kissed Max, thanking him for thinking about everything. I knew the wooden cabin would be an excellent solution for now.

Our family was nearly complete, as the Moon Goddess wished. Our goal would be to work on getting Harmony. And so we did. Not even a year later, I was back in that room, bringing my little girl to life.

They all were born with their wolves and powers. Aphrodite and Ares enjoyed it the most; they usually had to wait 16 years to interact with the pups’ wolves. But not our family. Once they started to crawl, their first shift came, and the pelts were, as seen in the book, black as a night and a small white dot on the ear for the twins and rich grey for Harmony. She was a mix of Ares and Aphrodite.

I realised that the prophecy was complete when I felt Aphrodite lying on the ground with Harmony near the lake, and Ares was not very far from playing with the pups. That scene was exactly what I had seen in the book.

I felt whole and accomplished in life. Who would thought that scared skinny girl inside the dark shed would have a happy ending and a family again? I sure did not believe that every time that monster came in the dark to hurt me.

The Moon Goddess gifted me the greatest victory of all time, and I will be forever grateful for that.

The pups arrived, and the prophecy was complete. Something Aphrodite and Ares had tried to do for many lifetimes and failed. They found the perfect host for their happiness and forever existence in Max and Julie’s bodies.

Now they only had to work together on the bring-up of the twins to prevent any catastrophes. The Moon Goddess trusted them with this challenge, and they sure were up to it.
