Chapter Love

Max POV

The news had spread like fire, and everybody knew what Julie had done to the people that took her. They did not know anything regarding my pups, and I would like to keep it like that. It would not be safe for everyone to understand what the pups could do.

The Wolf Council’s reputation was low; unfortunately, it was my job to restore it. The previous Alphas in my lineage had helped build it, and we needed the Council to create the balance and punish the Alphas that were not doing what they were supposed to do with their packs. Jordan was a greedy wolf, and Ares and I would make sure the Council never had a member like that.

My father was helping me with that. I had Julie to take care of and could not travel. We had so much more land now than before, and everything needed to be addressed. I had allocated many high-rank wolves to look after the land far from the Blue Moon that could not join the existing land we had here, like the former Shadows Pack.

I was checking all the pack’s finances when Terry walked in, and I could sense tension coming from him. “What is it, Terry? You are too tense lately. I know many things must be resolved, but we are addressing everything. There is no need for you to be like that.”

“It is your mate, Max. She is bugging me about a chosen mate.” I got comfortable on my chair and laughed at him. I knew Aphrodite must be the one bothering him.

“It is about time you pick someone, Terry. My pups are arriving soon, and they will need their Beta.” He narrowed his eyes at me and sat across my desk.

“Have you talked to your mate? Because those were exactly her words to me some weeks ago.”

“No, my friend, Julie has said nothing, but we think alike now.” I beamed at him. I could not be happier now.

“Come on, Terry. Give me some credit here, my friend. How about that Beta female? She is beautiful, and I saw you looking at her.” He threw a pillow at me, and I caught it in the air and threw my head back, laughing. He knew everyone had noticed it.

“I am surprised Karl has not come to talk about that yet. That is something he would love to laugh about it, Terry.” Karl is the funnier of us three, but after Michael had taken Julie from his protection, he was too focused on work and making the pack safer.

“Fine!” His mouth set on a line. He knew he was busted. “I felt attracted to her, and Pluto liked her wolf. I don’t know how to explain there was something about her sadness that made me want to help her.”

“You know Aphrodite can bind you two together. I am sure she would be pleased to do it.” Aphrodite’s powers could bring them peace, and Terry needed his other half. He had been suffering quietly for years.

He rubbed his forehead, entertaining the idea. “I need to think about it.”

“Well, don’t take too long. She is a pretty she-wolf. Besides, my mate has no patience to wait around.” Terry looked outside like he was digesting my words and left without saying anything.

I looked at his back, leaving my office and smirked. If I noticed Terry’s eyes on the she-wolf yesterday, I am sure the mischievous Aphrodite did it, too and was already working on binding them together.

Julie POV

“Are you sure about it, A? It will be best if we wait for Terry to choose someone.”

We were outside the door of Christine. She was the former Beta female of Shadows Pack. Her mate was John’s right hand. Aphrodite rolled her eyes at me and urged me to knock on the door.

“Oh, Jules. Terry had an excuse every time we asked him. Even though I helped him get rid of that feeling inside him, he still hurts. She is a good soul and right for him. I will not wait around. I was a Goddess, sweetheart. I do not wait for people.”

Now that we were carrying the pups, she was more and more full of herself. I laughed at her words. I still thought it would be best to give Terry more time to choose.

“How are you certain she is the right fit for him, A?” Now Aphrodite sat calmly in my mind. I needed her to explain herself before I knocked on the door.

“I can feel it, Jules. And you felt it too yesterday at the ceremony when Max welcomed her to the pack. She is a good soul and was given to her mate to help him see his wrongdoings, but he never opened up to her.”

Aphrodite was right, yesterday, Christine was kind to me at the ceremony, and I did not feel any anger coming from her. “She came with open arms here and will not be a threat, Jules. You don’t need to worry about anything. Ares would have felt something during the Welcome Ceremony if anyone wanted revenge against us. It will be good to bind them in the crescent moon; their love will grow.”

Max welcomed so many people to the Blue Moon, and Ares never felt anything threatening coming from them in the blood-binding. I nodded at her and knocked on the door. Christine opened it. Her black hair was up in a bun, her dark brown skin was dull, and her eyes tired. It was afternoon, and she was still in her sleep clothes. Even though her mate was not a good person, she was suffering his loss.

But I could feel her kind aura. She was a good soul, and as Aphrodite said, they would help each other. She tried to smile at me and bowed her head, welcoming me there. “Luna, I am sorry I was not expecting anyone today.”

My mate had killed hers, but I could not feel any hate coming from her. I put a hand at my fast-growing belly. I knew Aphrodite was with me and the pups. Even if her feelings towards me changed, I would be safe alone with her.

I smiled at her, and she moved aside for me to enter. “Don’t worry about it. I came for a visit and to see how you are settling in.” Her lodging conditions had changed. Her apartment at the pack house was much smaller now. She no longer lives in a Beta’s wing or a big house in the village.

“I am sure it was a significant change, and I am here to offer you any help you need.” I sat on the sofa, and Aphrodite got up from her position impatiently.

“Jules, we are out for a while. We are here for a quick job and leave, not for chit-chat. I am looking forward to being in my mate’s arms.” I pushed Aphrodite’s words. She was always in a hurry to fix their souls, but I wanted to talk to her to feel what she was feeling.

“I don’t need much now, Luna. It is only me; I was not blessed yet with pups.” She looked at my belly and smiled sadly before sitting on the sofa before me. I could feel she wanted pups too.

“My mate.” When she said the word mate, her eyes had tears, and she took a deep breath before continuing to talk. “He was obsessed with Alpha John’s demands and did not have much time for me. Like Alpha John, he enjoyed being away in the Witch hunt.”

Her mate enjoyed hunting the Witches as much as John. We all could coexist in peace. We did not need to hurt other species. When Max told me about how many Witches he found bound in John’s pack cells, I could not believe it.

I held her hands, and Aphrodite was right. We needed to fix her quickly. The waves of sadness I was getting from her were strong. “I can feel your suffering. I can help you if you let me.” I heard Aphrodite’s complaints in my mind after I offered my help to Christine. Aphrodite would not give Christine a choice like we always did when fixing the wolves at the hospital.

The tears fell from her eyes, and I kept my hands on hers. “Yesterday at the ceremony, I heard what your powers can do. Will you make the pain in my soul disappear?” Her voice was low like she did not have the energy today.

Aphrodite took control and poured love into the air to calm that awful feeling in the room. I could breathe better now and felt the pups calming down inside me. Aphrodite looked at her with a smile. “I will give you something much better. Something you had not felt from your other half. I will give you love.”

Christine nodded repeatedly, and I was sure Aphrodite did not manipulate her answer. It was not like she would not fix her, even if she shook her head. But at least I could sleep better knowing Christine wanted our help.

Aphrodite looked into her eyes, and I felt my sparkling. Aphrodite fixed her damaged soul first, gave her self-love and made her love Terry. She would feel the attraction as soon as she saw Terry again.

When we were done, I could see her facial expression changing. The room was lighter, Christine’s face had a beautiful glow, her dark skin was no longer dull, and neither were her eyes sad. She smiled genuinely at Aphrodite, and I knew that was how Christine was supposed to be. Happy.

Aphrodite hugged her before we left and headed straight to Terry’s office. She wanted to complete the binding today. “We should talk to him first, A.”

She sighed at me. “I told you already, Jules. I am in a hurry to see our mate, and it is a quick fix. I don’t need permission.” I knew she would listen to no one.

Aphrodite was pleased when we smelled Terry’s scent inside his office alone. She would not even have to use her powers to make anyone leave to finish the job.

“Hello, Terry.” She greeted him and entered without waiting for an invitation.

“Sorry, Aphrodite, I am busy checking the finances of the companies we have in the human world. If you are here to talk about my choosing, mate, can we do that later, please?” He looked at her and returned to the spreadsheet on his screen.

Aphrodite looked around his office, and she did not care he would not have time for her now. She was definitely not leaving empty-handed. “Oh, I am no longer interested in talking. Jules likes it, not me. I am more of a take-matters-into-your-own-hands kind girl.”

She smirked at him when he looked at her, and with her vibrant pink eyes, she poured out her powers as soon as he looked into her eyes. The tension in the room no longer existed, and Terry smiled at her. “As I said, Beta, I do not wait around for people.”

With a sassy smile, she opened the door and pointed with her head outside he should leave and look for his mate. Without complaining, Terry got up from his chair and sniffed the air, Aphrodite hugged Christine, and he smelled her scent on us.

I wanted to see how everything worked, and we did not have to walk much as Christine was already going down the stairs wearing a lovely red dress that looked perfect with her dark skin. Her black hair was down, and a smile was on her face.

Terry walked fast towards her, pulled her closer and kissed her, making his mate’s claim. It was like when wolves had encountered their true mate, and I felt so happy inside for being able to help two bleeding souls get back to having love.

Aphrodite ruffed like it was nothing new to her, and she was terrific. “I told you, Jules, it was a quick fix. Now let’s find our mate. I can feel him missing us.”

Terry finally had love after many years of loneliness on seeing people find their mates. Aphrodite knew precisely what he needed and, without waiting around, gave it to him.

Sadly, we may not have much more to go, and this book will be finished this week. I hope you all enjoy the last week of it. 💕😘
