The God of War - Editing

Jordan POV

From the tent in the abandoned Council land, Robbie, Michael, Tania, Melissa, her mate, and I watched the fighting unroll from Melissa’s crystal ball like we were in a VIP area. But I wanted to be more pleased with the results. We were losing, and many skilled warriors covered all the areas we could get into.

Anger was expelled from Robbie’s pores, and he thought Melissa tricked us. I was sure if she had done it, Robbie would make her mate feel the pain first. “Maximus must have felt us coming. They were all waiting for us. Are you sure Witch your potion worked?”

She nodded her head violently. “Yes, Yes!!!! Everything worked. I told you I felt a power from him before, but if he sensed the war, I am not sure how he did it.”

Michael and Tania were restless beside me. They would not be able to get in now to get my girl. When it hit me that I did all this work for nothing and Maximus will win and kill many packs and be an even more powerful Alpha, my wolf took control and pinned Melissa to the ground.

My claws extended, pressing her neck, and she could not defend herself with a spell. “All of this for nothing, Witch. NOW give me a solution, or you will see your mate die first.” My wolf was hungry for her blood and would not settle till she got the girl. That was the mission here.

She tried to get out in vain, and Robbie held her weak Omega mate in a kill potion. “I can make a portal to the pack house.” With much difficulty, she could produce something that could save the plan. I convinced my wolf that would work, and he let her neck go.

I nodded at Robbie, and he released the Omega, and Melissa ran to him. Mates are just a liability. Now was the time to take Maximus’ weakness from him and make him deliver my Kingdom.

“Take my father from there. He will be able to defend us from the guards at the pack house and break in. The way Max is fighting won’t be long till he kills my father, and you need him, Jordan or I will tell the Council you are behind everything.”

I would let Robbie kill both if I did not need Tania and Michael now. They have been making demands since the start, and now they are not helping, only making threats.

“I am helping my friend Michael and you in the process, Tania. Do not make threats. Your father is not here to defend you against the big bad wolf.” Robbie’s eyes flashed, and I felt she was scared now. “But you have a point, Tania. Robbie and I cannot cross the portal with you. Your father will be a great help now.”

I looked at the Witch. “Take all the Alphas and a few warriors from the Southern border with you, Melissa. I will meet you where we have discussed.” I had to keep the other pack I was in control of under my sleeve. Of course, I had a plan for where to take the girl. I would not let Michael take her to where I did not know.

“What is this about, Jordan? Where are we going next? I am going back with Julie to Woodland. You said Maximus would obey you if I had her.” Now I knew why Michael was not born an Alpha and had to steal his brother’s place. He would never have an Alpha’s mind.

“You cannot get back to your pack now, my friend. We need to hold a little longer till Maximus complies with our demands. We have to make him vulnerable first.” Michael seemed to buy what I said. Melissa would take him with her to the Brightly Pack. I would be able to watch them till I had to kill him. He is still valuable to me now.

I looked at her with my wolf eyes. “This better work, Melissa. Even if you flee, I will find you and kill you.”

Julie POV

“All right, Jules, now it is only you and me, sweetie. It is too chaotic and loud here. We should give them love first and calm everybody down.” I was scared to move. Fear was radiating from my body. It was like I was back at the dark shed in Woodland. “Well, I can see only Max could not comfort and reassure you. I need to pour love into you too.”

I finally breathed after she poured love inside me, and I felt good, like when I had to fight Tania. “I am sorry, A. Everything is so new to me. I never lived like a wolf and was not trained to be brave like a Luna needs to be. I don’t like disappointing you or Max. He needs me now.”

“Don’t worry, sweetie. I am here with you.” Taking deep breaths, I concentrated on her words. I was not alone. I felt a warm hand on my right shoulder and smelled Sarah Black.

“I sense you are worried, Julie. You don’t need to fear for my son’s life. Ares is excellent in the field and always protects him.” But I was too cowardly to tell her I feared for my life this time. Aphrodite said they were after us, not Max. She gave me a motherly hug. “Come, I will help you control the situation.”

I noticed Peter Black behind her. He smiled at me and kissed her goodbye. “I am going to help Ares. I will see you two soon.” She hugged him, wishing him well, and I could feel their love and how her wolf was not at ease that he was leaving to fight.

Aphrodite took control, but I stayed alert as the love she poured on me calmed my heart. With sparkling pink eyes, she looked at Connor and Karl. “We need to help everybody get comfortable in the safe room” Both moved to the side, helping the warriors but never too far from us. Sarah started with the pups helping the mothers.

Aphrodite concentrated, and there was no more extended chaos or fear around us in five minutes. People were quiet, doing what the warriors were instructing. Many she-wolves were expecting, and they were getting in after the elders. The Blue Moon was huge; without Aphrodite’s help, getting everybody inside this basement would take way longer.

Warriors stayed outside guarding the door, but Connor and Karl got inside with us to protect the inside. Sarah was a big help. She was prepared for that all her life and knew everything that needed to be done.

As soon as everybody was inside, the heavy door was locked. Aphrodite sat down, and two pups nested on our chest. Aphrodite kept concentrating on our surroundings. Now that she had calmed them, she could watch what would be coming to us.

“Can you feel what is happening to Ares? Is everything all right there?” But Aphrodite did not answer my question. A flash came into her mind. “The Witch is close. We must get out and take her away from here, Jules.”

“No, A. I am scared one thing was fighting one person. Last time the rogues nearly killed us in the woods if it was not for Ares. I am not good at that yet.”

“She will get in, Jules and kill all the pups here. We can’t let that happen. There are not enough guards outside. She is not alone, and they won’t be able to hold all of them. This time I can use my powers. You don’t need to be afraid.”

“How were they able to get in? Max said Ares would protect us.” Of course, I was panicking now. Ares was busy and would not reach on time, and I needed to figure out how Karl and Connor’s strengths worked to protect us. There were so many things that I was not ready for yet. But of course, I needed to protect my pack. They were my priority.

“Ares covered all the borders, but I felt a portal opening. That Witch is a dirty bitch that I will kill painfully. Sacrifices are what we must do to protect the pack. That is what makes us Luna, Jules. Now, sweetie, you must be brave even if you don’t want to.” I knew she was right. I needed to protect them. I couldn’t be scared like I used to be.

The two pups were sleeping, and Aphrodite moved them to the ground. She poured more love into the basement, we needed to go, and they could not think we were leaving them. Aphrodite walked the narrow corridor to the door and looked back at Sarah before disappearing. “Don’t need to worry, Sarah. I will protect them. Stay here.” Aphrodite smiled, manipulating Sarah’s feelings. She would stop us if she did not do it.

We quickly got to the end of the corridor and spotted Karl and Connor. “Hey, boys, it is time to get to work.” Aphrodite stared and made them agreeable.

“I know you don’t like when I manipulate people’s wants, Julies, but we are in a hurry now, and I don’t have time to convince them to open the door.”

“Ares will punish them, Aphrodite. You know it.” Aphrodite laughed. There were no concerns from her. She was born for that. ”Leave that handsome black fur with me, Jules. Now ready?”

“Yes!” That was what I needed to do. I would be brave and protect my pack. Please, Moon Goddess, give me strength. I said a quick prayer to Selene before climbing the stairs and stepping out of the room.

They stepped out first, and when we got out of the door, the guards were already fighting outside the pack house. Karl locked the door behind us, and we left the pack house ready to fight.

Karl and Connor shifted quickly and charged the big silver wolf. Many wolves were big and had an Alpha aura. There were many Alphas, but there was no scent coming from them. Aphrodite moved her hands and started to calm the wolves.

“They are so many, A. You need to call for Ares.”

“Yes, Jules. Let’s try our best. Ares is too busy. We need to do the heavy lifting here. We can make it.”

Connor and Karl were trying their best against a few wolves, and I could see they were strong. Aphrodite started to help the warriors against the Alphas. Soon many wolves were on their knees, overpowered by her. Everything was going great, and I felt confident that all our wolves would make it alive. “I told you we could do it without Ares. We rock, girl!!!” Aphrodite’s sassy voice came to my mind, and all my worries were gone.

Aphrodite was busy calming the wolves, and suddenly a giant brown wolf came out of nowhere and jumped to take Aphrodite down, and she moved quickly to the side, lifted her hands, subdued the Alpha and killed him when he was closer.

A piercing chartering scream came behind me. Aphrodite moved behind, and it was Tania. She was on her knees, crying. Everything happened so fast after it that Aphrodite had no time to react. I felt a needle in my neck, and Aphrodite disappeared, slowly losing control. I fell to the ground looking at the dead brown wolf transforming back to its human form, and it was Alpha John. I remembered his face when I was studying about the Alphas with Karl in the library.

Aphrodite killed John, and that was the reason for Tania’s cry. I felt so weak and looked up to find an escape, but instead, I found something I thought I would never see again. Those red eyes that hunted me for years in my sleep looked back at me. His wolf seemed so angry, like when he hurt me in the dark shed.

My chest was on the ground, and he stepped on my back, got my hands together and bound them with Silver cuffs. It burned my skin, and I screamed.

I could see Karl trying to kill everything in his path to get to me. The same Witch that visited us pushed Karl with her powers, and he fell but lifted again quickly and ran to me, and the Witch did it again, pushing him further. Connor had three wolves holding him behind. Michael could not get me, not now. Someone needed to help me. I am happy here.

“Take her quickly, Alpha Michael. I cannot hold for long.” Michael obeyed the Witch, lifted me from the ground, and tossed me on his shoulder.

"A, I need you now, please.” I could not feel her. I needed her powers now more than anything. What had uncle Michael done to her?

“Tania, we have to leave!!!” The Witch called for Tania, that was still on the ground crying from the loss of her father. Upside down, I saw Tania coming behind us, and we all walked through the portal to a place I was sure would not have Ares and Max.

I would be alone again like I was when uncle Michael took everything from me.

Poor Julie. I hope Aphrodite is all right and will recover soon to kill Michael and Tania. Both deserve to die now. What do you think happened to her?
