Max POV

Ares pushed fast to the Capital, and with every step he took, I could feel more and more the danger towards my mate. We were running in the right direction this time, and Ares knew it.

“I knew we should have killed Jordan the first time he came to our pack and tried to take what was ours, Max.” Ares groaned in my head. “I told you, it must have been my powers already. He was a threat to our little wolf since the first time.”

“I am sorry, Ares. I didn’t know how our powers worked before. Don’t worry, buddy. I won’t hold you back this time. But please, we need information first. Then, you can kill anyone you want.” I knew all he wanted to do was take people’s heads now, but we could not kill before knowing where she was.

“I don’t need your permission to kill, Max. And Jordan will die today.” Ares’ harsh voice was more extreme today than any other day.

“Fine by me, Ares. As long as you find her first.” Ares was pushing faster in front of our men. I could sense they were close by, but we would invade the Capital much sooner than the rest of the pack.

When Ares stormed inside the gates of the Capital, it was like he was playing bowling. He tackled them with his head and destroyed everything trying to stop him. I heard the alarm going off for people to get to safety and the chaos breaking around the courtyard. The lower rankings were safe for now. Ares did not want them. He wanted one person, Jordan.

Kell and Robbie stepped outside, followed by Ferdinand, that took a step forward, trying to control the situation. Ares ran around and allowed me to shift to human. “Get out of my way, Ferdinand or my wolf will kill you too.” Ferdinand tried to appease me, but there was no way to hold me. I wanted to make Jordan feel pain, and lots of it.

“Why are you here bringing chaos to our door, Maximus?” I could sense fear coming from Ferdinand. They had never faced Ares. We were always on the same side of any predicament. “I know we made a mistake letting Michael escape, but all our resources are put towards hunting him.”

“We are beyond passed this, Ferdinand. I want Jordan’s head now. And I will not leave till I have it.” But after I delivered my message, something pulled me towards Robbie. Ares took control, and then we could feel in black and white that Robbie was helping Jordan. I could feel he wanted to hurt my little wolf too.

“Max, he is a member of the Council. It will have repercussions.” Ferdinand screamed as Ares ran towards Robbie. They knew my wolf would attack him.

My father finally arrived with the rest of the warriors and stepped aside. Ares stepped towards Robbie to take him; even if my father tried to be diplomatic now with Ferdinand, he would not be able to hold Ares.

“Yes! It will have repercussions for him. He has taken my mate, and I will not leave without having his blood.” I was tired of this conversation already, and so was Ares. I let him out, and he shifted to his wolf mid-air, and Ares started destroying everything that crossed his path. Council warriors that tried to hold him were injured, and Ares finally got his fangs on Robbie.

“You cannot kill him, Ares. Not now.” I rushed out before Ares could get his fangs on his neck.

“I won’t, Max. We will have a little fun with him first.” Ares sunk his fangs into Robbie’s arms and dragged him, screaming to the Council cells. I heard my father, that had shifted back, talking to Ferdinand, and they did not know where Jordan was. He was not in the Capital, but sure if Robbie was his accomplice, he knew where we would find him.

My father commanded the warriors to search for Julie even though we could not feel her here, and Kell had said my mate was not there. We were breaking all the rules of the Capital, but who was there to stop us if Ares was dragging the strongest man they had to their cells?

Ares roared at the guards outside the cells, and they quickly opened the door. Like a ragged doll, Ares launched Robbie down the stairs to the basement, and Ares jumped behind.

I shifted back and commanded the guards to bring me shorts. I would start taking blood out of Robbie. And so, I did it.

“You know Robbie, my wolf never liked you. I am on the verge of letting him out, and the torture will be much worse when I do, my friend. Now tell me where my mate is.”

He shook his head several times, feeling the pain in his leg. “I do not have your mate, Maximus. Let me out now, or the Council will have to arrest you.” I knew he was lying. We could feel it. He knew where she was.

I threw my head back and laughed hard. “Look around, Robbie. Nobody is here to help you or will contain us. They just cannot.” I got a Silver blade again and cut two of his fingers. His screams were music to my ears.

I did not know what Jordan was up to or what he had promised Robbie, but I had to give him that he was holding his secret tight after all the pain I was inflicting on him. He would not be able to hold any longer. Robbie looked drained. We were there for hours, and I knew soon he would start telling the truth.

Robbie desperately looked at his hand. “I will kill that bitch when I get my hands on her. You will never find her, Maximus. Jordan will have you on your knees soon.” Like a maniac, he started to scream the truth.

I smirked at him. “Finally!” I lowered my head to his level and looked into his tired eyes. “Ares, it is your turn now.” I could feel the fear coming in waves from him. He knew Ares would not take pity on him. He had seen first-hand what Ares could do.

Ares drained the life off Robbie’s face. He made sure to make him feel pain like he had never felt before for not telling us what we needed to hear sooner. But in the end, he told us everything we wanted to know.

Ares cleaned his bloody hands on the shorts and walked to the entrance. We needed to get to Brightly Pack fast. Good thing the pack was close to the Capital.

The sun was already up when we returned to the courtyard, and all the warriors were lined up, waiting on Ares’ command. Things were quiet, and nobody had tried anything against my pack while we tortured Robbie.

My father looked at Ares. “Terry mindlinked, the Witches have broken the hiding spell the path is clear for you, Ares.”

Ares nodded to my father. “Good! We are going to the Brightly Pack now.”

Julie POV

With the pain in my neck, my breathing slowed, and I hallucinated about my pups and that I would have to fight hard to bring them to life. I was trying to get my mind to a safe place. A place that would not include any monsters in it, but sooner than I expected, I heard the heavy door opening bringing me back to reality.

My tired eyes opened slowly, trying to adjust to the light in the room, and I saw the Witch and her mate getting set inside my prison. I looked at her mate sitting at the far end of the room. He looked sad, and his head was low, looking at the ground.

“Why are you letting your mate do it to me? We are the same kind. You should not hurt your kind. The Moon Goddess would not be pleased.” He raised his face to look at me, digesting my words, and I saw regret in his eyes. He looked at his mate, setting her book on a table. This time she had brought a book, and I was afraid she would get what she wanted. She came prepared today.

The Omega did not take his eyes off his mate. “I am sorry, Luna. That is the only way we can be together. The Wolf Council will never allow cross-breeding, which will change once Jordan becomes the Alpha King. We need your mate to do as Jordan wants, and keeping you here is the only way to make him do it.”

I felt hopeful for the first time. “You don’t need Jordan. You cannot trust him. My mate can help you if you get me to him. I will not let him kill you two. You have my word. I will ask him to welcome you and your mate to the Blue Moon, and you will be protected. You can live there happily as a couple.” If that was all they wanted, Max could give to them if they saved me.

“Stop trying to get inside my mate’s head, Julie. It will not help you. I will tell you how things will go today.” The Witch smirked at me. Without a doubt, more pain was coming on my way.

“Do not waste your energy with them, Sweetie. The Witch doesn’t want help; her mind is set. She wants the same as Jordan. Power!” A wake Aphrodite came to my mind, and her words could not be more accurate. I felt sorry for the Omega that would die for something he did not want.

“Jordan will be here soon, and he will not be happy that I tried to take your mark. It was not part of his plan, not yet, at least. Your mark would be taken later when it was time for you to become his mate and Queen.” The Witch seemed bound to do everything that Jordan wanted.

A groan came out of my mouth. “I am Alpha Maximus’ mate. I will never accept anyone else.”

“You will have to, or your mate will die. And I am sure you don’t want this end for him.” I pulled the chains, trying to get closer to her. Her threats against my mate were unsettling me. But she was faster and stepped back to where my leash could not reach.

“Jordan will contact Alpha Maximus today. I am here to make you feel more pain. I am sure he felt it yesterday and will comply to do whatever Jordan asks in return for your torture to stop. Don’t worry. It will be only pain. I will not mess with your mark. As I said, that is not his plan.”

Aphrodite took control, and my eyes shone a dull pink. The bright pink was all gone with the Silver. She was getting more and more tired. But even though she was tired, she smirked at the Witch. “And as I said before, my mate will be here soon, and you are the one that will feel excruciating pain.”

The Witch laughed gruesomely, not believing Aphrodite. She knew Max was not on his way, and we were alone. She opened her book and was ready to start our torture. The door bolted open, my uncle and Tania got in, and the audience was prepared to watch my suffering.

“Are you ready, Jules? Please tell me you are because I will not resist more pain today. I am too weak.”

“Yes, A. I am ready! We will get out of here today.”

“Great! The boys are ready to be let out to play and make their dad proud.” I was not afraid of what I would feel when my pups defended us. I was worried that more people were in the room, which might not work.

Aphrodite closed her eyes to concentrate. “Hey, boys, it is time to come out to play. You have to protect mummy till dad is here.”

Sorry I did not post over the weekend. It was my birthday, and I was out and about. 😊😊

Will the pups be able to hold tight till Ares gets to them? Well, go nowhere because another chapter is coming now.
