Max POV

The sun was shining outside, and I could not get a full sleep even though I was tired. I looked at her sleepy, peaceful face and was eager to see again those big grey eyes I loved so much.

I sat on her side of our bed, gently rubbing her tummy, where my pups were hiding. They bravely protected my mate when Ares and I could not. I took a deep breath. My mate’s scent had already changed because of the twins. I could hear their hearts going strong. Her now alluring scent made me want to protect her more. I felt that I needed to be by her side the whole time. And I was fighting hard to control all the worries inside me.

“There is no need to worry, handsome. We are all right.” I snorted at her sassy voice. Aphrodite was always a breath of fresh air.

“It is my job to worry about your needs, Aphrodite.” She opened her eyes and held my hands. Deep scars covered my palms. Ares and I should have been more careful with the Silver knives. We held them with our bare hands instead of gloves. There was no time to waste; we needed the answers fast from Robbie.

Aphrodite examined my hands. “Let me fix them.” I shook my head. It was not time to worry about my scars. “You don’t have to, little one. You are still recovering.” I caressed her soft hand with my thumb.

She rolled her eyes like Ares always does. “I am much improved, and there is no place for scars on a God of War’s hands.” She looked into my eyes, and I could see that hers had returned to a vibrant pink. They sparkled as before, I felt my hands becoming warm, and I looked at them; like magic, they were again without deep scars.

“Now! My work here is done. I will get back to rest with your pups. Julie will be awake soon. She is feeling much better now.” She kissed me softly and laid her head back on the pillow.

I would never get used to the love inside her. It vibrated in the room. My body instantly relaxed, and I lay beside her, pulling her closer to my chest, inhaling that sweet scent.

After a few hours, I felt her stirring in my arms. I looked down at my chest, and those big grey eyes looked back at me. “I am so glad I am seeing those again.” I smiled at her, and with my thumb, I caressed her eyelids, showing what my words meant.

“I missed you so much, Max.” She lay her head on my bare chest and inhaled my scent. I kissed the top of her head. “Me too, little wolf. The are no words to describe the feeling of losing you. I will never let it happen again. I promise you.” Her eyes sparkled with happiness for being wanted by her mate. I pulled her naked body on top of mine. All I wanted now was to be with her, to love her.

I looked at her mouth and gently stroked her chin. “Let me show you how much I missed you.” I kissed her, showing how much I wanted to be with her. I nibbed her mark, and the soft moan that escaped her mouth was gasoline to my desires. I moved her legs to the sides to straddle me and entered paradise.

I held her by the top of her legs to help her ride me, and all that could be felt in the room were our urge to connect like that. We finally were one again, and the happiness in the room was feeding our souls.

There was no need for mating any longer. Julie was already carrying my pups, but now it was for us, for our need to feel the connection between us. And I would make sure she enjoyed each second of it.

Her smooth breasts against my chest were what drove my desires higher. I moved my hands up and held her shoulders, pulling them back and quickly lowered my head to taste her nipples. Julie threw her head back, enjoying my action. Her breasts tasted fresh and were starting to be fuller. I sucked it hard till I heard the now, not-so-soft moans coming out of her mouth.

My arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her tightly to my chest. I needed to feel her closer. I moved my mouth to her mark and scratched it with my canines. With this action, I could feel inside her that she was closer to her release.

Julie held firmly to my shoulders, and her lower body desperately rode me. She wanted the same thing I was seeking. “It is so good, Max.”

I matched her pace, helping her. “Let me make it feel even better, little wolf.” It did not take long for me to hear our ragged breaths of pleasure echoing inside the room.

Julie was lying on my chest, feeling satisfied, and I petted her hair. She lifted her head to look at me. “The pups saved us. Did you know about them?” Her lovely voice speaking to me again was all I could have asked for the Moon Goddess.

I stroked her cheek. “Yes. Ares had a vision of them when we tried to reach you. But I can feel them now and hear their hearts. Your scent changed too.” I sniffed the air. “It is sweeter now, and urge me to hold tight on you and never let go.”

Her face became serious. “Then, don’t.” I kissed her deeply, and when I stopped, I looked into her eyes. “I will never, little one. Never!”

We mated one more time before going out to celebrate with the pack. When we went outside, the celebrations had already started. The Blue Moon Pack was welcoming back their Luna and looking forward to their new Alphas that would be arriving soon.

The good thing about being wolves is that we did not have to wait nine months like humans for our pups’ arrival. Julie would be carrying her term with a maximum of 75 days. And as I had imagined, the pups would be here when the snow fell.

I held Julie’s hand and walked to the table. Everybody was all smiles to Julie. They had brought presents for her, and the atmosphere outside was great. Yellow lanterns illuminated the back of the pack house, and the food smell made me hungry after all the exercise upstairs. But I needed to feed Julie first before thinking of my needs.

On our way to grab the food, my mother came to talk to Julie and hugged her. A lower growl came out of me, Ares was too protective of her now, and even my mother holding what belonged to us made him uneasy.

My mum looked at them with a frown, and I knew I would hear a complaint later as she did not like it when Ares growled at her.

But I already knew how to prevent Ares from getting anyone hurt. We would be spending a few days at our wooden cabin. It would be an excellent solution, and we would spend time only with our mate without any disturbance.

Jordan was in the pack cells, and we would definitely deal with him ourselves on our return.

Julie POV

After many days at the cabin, I walked to the village with Connor on my trail. His wolf was tense and very alert. He had apologised several times at the party. And even though I told him it was not his fault, he still carried the burden. Aphrodite made a decision and used her powers on them. There was nothing they could have done to lock us inside the basement.

I stopped my walk and looked at him. “Connor, you do not need to feel guilty. I am all right now. As I said at the party, you did everything possible to prevent us from being taken.”

He sighed deeply. “Sorry, Luna. My wolf has to be alert. We are not only looking after you any longer. The Alpha will kill us this time if I lose not only you but the pups inside you too.”

“A, I think you should help him now.” I knew Aphrodite could take the guilt away from him. “I think so too, Jules.” Aphrodite took control, and soon enough, the air was light, and Connor felt peace in his soul.

She winked at him. “Now, run along my favourite guard. I am in a hurry to meet Ger’s pup.” Aphrodite shook her head. She was devasted when she found out Ger’s mate had given birth while that monster locked us.

Aphrodite walked quickly now that Connor was in a perfect mood and talking to her. Ger’s new home was at the end of the village near the new constructions. It had stopped when the whole pack was looking for us, but now everything was back in full swing, and many houses were being constructed.

When we got to Ger’s house, his little warrior was charming, and his mate did not stop thanking Aphrodite for helping her when she needed the most. Aphrodite had gifted her something she no longer possessed the means to dream of.

On our way back to the pack house, I could feel Aphrodite observing people coming and going near us. “The pack is strong now. Can you see it, Jules? Everything will be well when those pups arrive, bringing chaos with them.”

“Yes, A. We have to protect the pack. We can never let them harm anyone.” At night when I closed my eyes, I thought about how we would help our pups learn right from wrong. The power I felt was so much more than anything I had before, and it was scary.

It was scary to know they could use other people to do what they wanted and how they wanted it. They can stop a person in place by evoking their deep fears.

“They will learn, Jules. Their parents also have powers, and you, Jules, have kindness; when our little girl arrives, she will help us deal with them.” I could feel Aphrodite’s confidence that everything would go as she expected.

I laughed in my head. A few months back, I had only Aphrodite and every time she went away, I thought she would not return and I would be alone for the rest of my life. Now I have a pack that respects me, a mate that loves me, and soon pups to raise.

I could not have wanted anything better for my life than everything the Moon Goddess had given me.

Everything is returning to normal in their lives, but Max and Ares still have to deal with Jordan, and I am sure both are looking forward to it. 😉😉
