Chapter 64
As Jonah filled in his booklet, knocks on his door caused him to glance upwards. The secretary entered and said, "Kylan is here, sir."
"What does he want?"
"Can we talk?" Kylan said from behind the secretary.
Jonah sighed, "Kylan, I'm busy-"
He stepped past the secretary and entered the office, "It won't take long." He had a bouquet in his arms, as well as an envelope, placing both on his desk.
The secretary rolled her eyes and closed the door to give them privacy.
Kylan, a bit flustered, observed as Jonah smiled and reached for the flowers, inhaling a large breath and whispering, "Love the smell of them."
"I'm sorry your birthday wasn't how you wanted it to be, and I promise we'll have a party."
"Kylan, that's not what I meant-"
"Just let me finish," he sighed, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment before continuing, "I love you, with everything in my heart, and you know you mean the world to me. I promise that I'll make it up to you. Anyways, open the envelope. That's my gift."
As Jonah ripped open the envelope, he chuckled as he read, "Invitation to Kylan's sexy dinner?"
Kylan smiled, a bit shy, "Can you read it after I leave? Just make sure to come home tonight at nine, and don't worry about Jacob. He's with Ella."
He smirked, "Alright, Ky, thank you."
He was moments from turning around and leaving when Jonah called him back. He waved for him, "Can you come around this desk?"
When he did, Jonah gripped his collar and pulled him downwards, placing his lips aggressively on his. Kylan smiled against the kiss, allowing Jonah to grip his neck tightly and lower his lips to place a trail of kisses along his jawline. "Not here, Jonah-"
"For a bit," he cooed seductively, reaching for Kylan's zippier.
Kylan shook his head, "No I-"
"Then at least let me go down on you, Ky," he raised his eyes to meet his, "please."
When Kylan nodded, Jonah pulled down Kylan's zipper.

Kylan waited and waited. It was near midnight, and Jonah had not been home. Not even a text or a call, absolutely nothing to let him know where he was. His arms folded, he changed back into regular pajamas instead of the sexy attire he had bought and sat in the living room.
Jonah had been extremely busy ever since his company boomed, and it did make him feel lonely at times. He wished he could be the priority instead but knew that was not meant to happen.
It was only at two in the morning that he heard the doorknob shuffle as if someone was struggling with their keys. He exited the bedroom and reached the front door, opening to find Jonah's red eyes staring back at him.
The sloppy smile that widened Jonah's lips and the smell of alcohol that filled his nose was enough to let him know he was drunk. However, the blunt above his ear also made him understand that he was high.
"Hey Ky," he reached forward and wrapped his arms around Kylan, barely able to carry his own weight. However, Kylan stepped backward, causing Jonah to stumble forward.
Kylan closed the door behind him, sending a shaky hand through his hair before walking to the kitchen. Knowing Jonah was going to follow him, he filled a cup of water and handed it to Jonah, "Drink it." "Why are you so dry with me?" Jonah snapped, grabbing the cup and drinking the entire thing.
Kylan reached for his glass and gave him a refill, to which he again began drinking at a much slower pace.
"Are you going to talk to me?"
"I'll talk to you tomorrow," he breathed quietly, walking around the counter and heading towards the hallway for the bedroom.

Jonah reached for his arm and turned him around, "If you have something to say, just fucking say it." "You're drunk."
"It doesn't matter. You can still say it!" he exclaimed, gritting his teeth, and Kylan furrowed his brows. "Why are you angry? I should be the one angry, and I'm trying not to be because I love you—" "Stop fucking using the fact that you love me as an excuse and just tell me how you feel." Kylan bit his bottom lip, "Fine then. I told you to be here by nine-"
"I got out of the office late, so we went out to a club to party."
"Not even a call or a text? Nothing?"
"I didn't think it was going to be this big of a deal, Kylan. I'm sorry. I have to text you every time I'm coming back home late now?"
"That's not what I meant, and you know that—"
"No, I don't know that."
"We had something planned!" Kylan shouted, wanting to rip his hair from his own scalp, "I told you to be here by nine, and you said you would, but you never showed. It's common decency to let someone know you're not gonna-" Jonah rolled his eyes and turned away from him, angrily storming towards the bedroom, and Kylan followed him, "I listen to you when you talk!"
"Yea, because I don't spout bullshit Ky," Jonah hissed, barely able to walk straight as he reached their closet, "You're such a girl."
"I'm just trying to make you feel loved on your birthday!"
"You're suffocating me!" he screamed, facing him, "You're up my ass all the time, and it's suffocating. I need my fucking space, alright? Give me my damn space."

Kylan raised an eyebrow, "Then let's take a break-"
"Don't be overdramatic," Jonah dismissed, "I'm not taking a fucking break with you. So what, you can cheat on me comfortably?"
"I'm done with this conversation," Kylan ripped the blanket from the bed, "I'm sleeping on the couch."
"I didn't want to sleep with you anyways."
"Yeah, whatever," he slammed the door shut behind him.
He could not sleep and instead waited until Jonah woke in the middle of the night and felt extremely uncomfortable by the empty bed on Kylan's side. He stood at the doorway and began calling his name, but when Kylan didn't come, he lethargically and drunkenly walked to the living room.
Kylan's eyes were opened as Jonah stood in front of him, and he breathed, "Can you come to bed with me?"
"No," Kylan refused.
Jonah tilted his head, "Please?"
"Leave me alone," he turned around on the couch. Jonah shrugged his shoulders and began crawling underneath Kylan on the couch, "What are you-"
He found himself squished against the couch, with Jonah also laying on the couch with his arm around Kylan. Kylan was basically sleeping on him, and Jonah felt much more comfortable than he could alone.
Kylan stopped resisting, allowing his body to melt against Jonah's, and sighed, resting his head against his chest.
"Am I really suffocating you?"
"No."
"You do love me, right?"
"Yes."
