Chapter 53
"Have you ever thought of fucking Ella?"
"No," Jonah snorted, "She's ugly."
"Be nice-"
"And manly."
"I said be nice," Kylan furrowed his brows.
Jonah raised an eyebrow, "When was she ever nice to me?"
"Can you reach on top of the tree?" Kylan asked Jonah, handing him the star. Jonah nodded his head and jumped, reaching the top of the tree. Then, Kylan stepped backward and smiled, "Finally, our Christmas tree is complete." "When are they showing up?"
"Ella should be here right now. Bradley was supposed to come a bit later-" The doorbell rang, and Kylan smiled, "That must be here."
"I'll go get it," Jonah said. When Jonah reached the door, he opened it and raised an eyebrow when it was not Ella. "Leah?"
"Hey Jonah," she beamed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
Jacob hugged his leg, and they both entered the home as Jonah closed the door behind them. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Kylan invited us for the Christmas party."
"It's not a party-"
"Or gathering, whatever he said, you called it."
Jonah furrowed his brows and then stormed towards the living room at the exact moment Kylan was coming to greet who he thought was Ella. When he saw Leah, he waved a hand to which she politely greeted him back. Jonah gripped Kylan by his shoulders, ushering, "You invited them without me knowing?"
"Yes, it's called a surprise."
"Without me knowing, though?"
"Yes." Kylan paused for a moment before saying slower, "It's called...a...surprise...?"
"Kylan, you know I hate when you do that, don't act like I'm stupid."
"If you don't want them to be here, just tell them to leave. I wanted to see Jacob, and Leah said she wanted to come too, so I invited them."
"Why did you wanna see Jacob? He's not your kid."
"Apparently not yours either since you're so angry by him being here."
Jonah gritted his teeth, "Kylan, I'm telling you right now, you're pissing me off."
"I don't give a fuck Jonah," Kylan shrugged his shoulders. "Go be mad somewhere else, I'm having fun today, and you're not ruining it by throwing a dumb temper tantrum." He then walked around Jonah and greeted Leah, kneeling to the ground to greet Jacob, who hugged him tightly.
"How are you, Uncle Ky?"
"I'm good. How about you, buddy?"
"Mommy bought me a superman suit, but I couldn't wear it today."
"Well, next time you come over, I'd like to see it."
"Okay, I'll bring it next time."
Soon enough, they heard knocks on the door, and Ella and Bradley entered at the same time with presents in their hands. They put the presents underneath the tree and refrigerated the alcoholic drinks.
Ella raised an eyebrow, "How are we supposed to drink alcohol with a kid here?"
"That's what I'm saying," Bradley added.
Jonah shrugged his shoulders, "Ask Kylan. He's the one that invited them."
"Calm down, alright?" Kylan hissed at him, growing angrier.
"Don't worry, we're not staying late," Leah commented, noticing that Jonah didn't seem pleased by her presence.
"Now you made them feel unwelcome," Kylan snarled at Jonah, "your own family."
"How about you try and shut up for once?" Jonah hissed back.
Ella's eyes widened, and she turned to Bradley, and Bradley whispered, "Here we go again."
"They constantly have childish fights like this," Ella whispered to Leah, who slowly nodded her head. "Let's just go to the kitchen and let them sort this out." They slowly disappeared from the living room with Jacob while Jonah and Kylan continued to argue.
"Did you just tell me to shut up-?"
"Yes, Ky, I did," Jonah growled, widening his arms. "You should have told me they were coming, and I'm pissed that you didn't."
"Why do you have that much of a problem with your family being here "
"I don't. I just think that it would've been respectful for you to have told me."
"That's why things are called surprises."
"Then I don't like surprises!" Jonah shouted, gritting his teeth, "And neither do I want to celebrate this Christmas with you."
Kylan paused for a moment, realizing he needed to calm this situation down. He raised his hand towards him, "Okay, Jonah, let's calm down—"
"No, I'm leaving. I'll see you tomorrow." As Jonah stormed from the living room and headed for the main door, passing by the kitchen and everyone in there widened their eyes, he ripped his coat from the hanger and threw on his shoes. Kylan followed after him rapidly, "Jonah, please stay."
"Don't touch me bye." And he slammed the door shut behind him.
Ella immediately approached Kylan and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, "He always comes back, don't be so glum."
"I'm not glum, I'm just..." he sighed, pouting sadly.
Bradley approached them, "He'll be sad the whole Christmas if Jonah doesn't come back."
"Definitely," Ella added.
"No, I'll be fine "
"Just go get him," Leah advised, patting Jacob's hair. "It's not Christmas without his father, and you're the only one who can really convince him to come back."

"He's mad at me "
"Jonah's soft," Ella laughed. "He loves you too much to stay mad for more than a minute. I'm surprised he hasn't come running back inside to apologize."
"Just go get him, Kylan," Bradley said, wrapping an arm around Ella's lower waist. "We'll be cooking diner."
"Okay," he said and grabbed his coat, ripping Ella's car keys from the table and sprinting outside. It was raining, and he stormed inside the vehicle, drifting along the roads and trying to find Jonah's car. He drove down a few streets before finally finding Jonah's car parked at a random street with the lights inside shut.
As he approached the car, he saw Jonah with his forehead on the steering wheel, not moving. He parked in front of the car and rushed to the window, knocking only to see Jonah raised his eyes and shake his head in annoyance. "Go away!" he mouthed.
"I'm not going anywhere," Kylan screamed.
Jonah turned on the car, "I'll just drive away."
"Then I'll wait here in this raining cold until you come back."
"I don't care."
"Then leave," Kylan shrugged his shoulders challengingly, and as he had predicted, Jonah unlocked the doors, and he jumped inside the car, shivering and removing his drenched coat.
Once he got himself comfortable, turning up the heat since it was freezing, he faced Jonah, "What were you doing here?"
"Just relaxing, calming down." He was staring at a shivering Kylan, and seeing his hair drenched was oddly enough turning him on, which he had to look away from. "Are they still there?" "Do you want them to leave?"
Jonah shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know."
"What's going on?" he raised an eyebrow. "Do you have something with Leah?"
"No, I don't. I don't know what you're getting at, but whatever you're thinking, it's not true-"
"I'm not thinking anything; I was just asking!"
"You don't have to shout."
"I'm not shouting. I was just saying."
"Whatever, Kylan—"
"What's up with you today?" Kylan raised an eyebrow, "Why are you all tense and mad?"
Jonah shook his head, "Nothing's going on."
"Look at me," Kylan whispered, reaching forward and gently placing a palm on Jonah's jaw, to which he did not resist. When they met gaze, Kylan connected their lips for a short moment before pulling away and saying, "Tell me what's wrong, babe."
Jonah sighed, his eyes turning away for a moment, and Kylan noticed them fill with tears. Then, he mumbled, "I miss my family."
It had been almost half a year ever since they moved away from town since his family had not accepted his sexuality. In the beginning, it had been fairly easy not to think about them. Still, when all those traditional family gatherings were occurring, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, he started to miss seeing his mother and his father and his siblings and their family and friends. They all came to the house and had a gigantic Christmas party.
It was the first year he celebrated Christmas without them, and he hadn't thought it would be this hard to overcome and move on.
"It sucks having to live as if they don't exist, Kylan. Leaving my mom and my dad, the people that made me who I am today. My brother Vladimir, my sister. Like, it's hard to just act as if they weren't a part of my life."

Kylan sighed, wrapping an arm around Jonah's shoulders and pulling him towards his chest.
"I miss them, Kylan. Seeing Leah and Jacob just reminded me that I have a family that I need to see but can't."
"You can," Kylan said quietly. "You're their son. They have to accept you regardless. I'm sure they'd be happy to see you even if you went back after three years. And I'm not stopping you from going there, Jonah." He met Jonah's gaze and smiled, "You'll be fine, babe, okay? How about you go tomorrow?"
"Do you want to come with me?"
"No," Kylan shook his head, "that's something you have to do by yourself. I don't want them to shun away from you because I'm there."
Jonah nodded his head, "Okay." Then, as he leaned into Kylan's chest, Kylan wrapped his arms around him. He whispered, "I'm sorry I was mean to you."
"I'm sorry I was mean too."
"Thank you for the surprise."
"I wouldn't have done it if I thought you wouldn't like it."
"It was nice," he lifted his head, "thanks, babe."
"You're welcome."
Then Jonah smiled, "You're all wet."
"Want to mix it with sweat?"
"Where do you come up with those lines?"
Kylan laughed, "It's corny, isn't it."
"Yes, but I love it," he leaned in and connected his lips with Kylan's before reaching for the end of his shirt, ripping it over his head. "Let's go on the backseats."
"Yes, I'm dying to feel you in me."
"Don't worry," Jonah smirked, "you'll be begging me to stop soon enough."
When they returned to the condo, both their faces were beet red, and Jonah seemed somewhat in a trance, trying to hide the fact that he was in such a good mood because he just had sex with Kylan. However, the minute all of them saw Jonah and Kylan, Bradley leaned towards Ella's ear and whispered, "They just had sex."
"Do you think it was all a setup so they could get away and have sex without being heard?" Ella whispered back.
Bradley squinted his eyes, "Maybe."
Leah nodded her head, "Definitely."
"Definitely what?" Jacob raised an eyebrow.
Leah chuckled awkwardly before saying, "Go hug daddy."
"Wait," Jonah stopped Jacob with a smile and breathed, "let me go shower first and...change."
"I should do that too," Kylan said after, and they both headed for the bedroom.
"Well, it's an eventful Christmas," Ella laughed, shaking her head. "They're both babies."
"Merry Christmas to all!" Bradley laughed, and all three of them began laughing, clashing their glasses of wine together.
