The Gay Nerd Who Stole His Heart

Chapter 29

"Hi everyone," Katie, one of the cheerleaders, called across the entire cafeteria, "please vote for me for student council president."

"Boo!" Ella shouted, causing Kylan to reach over the table and clamp her mouth with his palm. He shushed her, a few heads turning, but luckily, Katie had not turned. Jonah snickered, "I'm with Ella on that one."

"Agreed," Bradley said, beside Jonah, "She's a skank."

"Doesn't mean you have to be rude," Kylan hissed at them and then frowned, "Why are you guys sitting with us?"

Jonah frowned, "I don't know why Bradley is here, but I'm your boyfriend."

"And I'm his best friend," Bradley added.

"And I was just leaving," Ella stood from her seat, grabbing her bags."

Kylan raised an eyebrow, "What's wrong with you?"

"You're always with them," she said dryly, rolling her eyes, "It's annoying. I don't even like them." After admitting them, she turned around and stormed away, exiting the cafeteria.

Kylan bit his bottom lip but remained seated. It was true. He had not been eating his lunches with Ella since Jonah was always present. Along with that, most of his time was taken by going on dates with Jonah. However, he liked spending time with Jonah, evidently needing to compromise between them both, but this relationship was new to him. He did not want to mess it up.

Jonah observed her storm off and shook his head, munching on his chips, "She's a drama queen."

"You both need to become friends," Kylan said.

It caused Jonah to scoff, "She's a brat. I tried to be nice to her, invited her to my parent's anniversary party, but she had a bad attitude about it."

Kylan rolled his eyes, "Then try harder." He pushed his glasses tighter along the bridge of his nose and turned away, staring at Katie delivering her speech.

She looked directly at Jonah, and when he looked upwards at her, she winked. Hence why Kylan protectively gripped Jonah's collar and pulled him to him, placing a compassionate kiss on his lips, which Bradley grimaced at, and pulled away, meeting Katie's gaze and winking. He then sat back down, grumbling under his breath as he munched angrily on his sandwich.

Jonah inhaled sharply, which caused Kylan to raise his eyes and realize that Jonah was staring at him with wide eyes and biting his bottom lip hungrily. He frowned, "What?"

"That was hot, Ky."

Kylan fell flustered.

"Alright," Bradley said, standing to his feet, "dealing with couples is annoying. I'm leaving."

"Don't be childish."

"Bye, Jonah."

They had another game that day after school. They had been winning recently, and the positive energy on the team was partially because of Jonah, Kylan, and Bradley. The game they played today was no different. With every call from Kylan, Bradley played him the ball, which landed them two goals. Jonah got another goal from a free kick out of the eighteen-yard box, and Bradley got a header goal from a corner kick. Hence why, all three of them were in a bright mood after the game, beating the third ranked team in their league by five to three.

However, Jonah was in the midst of living his worst nightmare. He heard a female scream his name from the bleachers, and when he turned his head, his eyes widened. Kylan had turned as well when he heard Jonah's name get called, and with the adrenaline from winning the game, his eyes furrowed in anger.

Leah waved a hand, and Jacob as well, between her legs as he screamed for his father. Jonah gulped, nervous and not sure what to do in this situation, and it became worse when Kylan sprinted to him, "Who is that girl, Jonah?"

"Nobody, I'll meet up with you later, Ky," he breathed stressfully, attempted to calm Kylan's, whose face was twisting with more anger. Jonah had never seen such rage behind Kylan's eyes, and with Leah being a few yards away, Jonah was afraid that they would talk.

Kylan scowled at him, "Stop lying to me, and tell me who she is."

Jonah placed his palm on Kylan's shoulders, attempting to calm him down, "I can't do that, Kylan-"

"You can't? Or you won't."

"I can't," he snapped, shoving Kylan backward. "This is my personal life Kylan, so back off." With widened eyes and gritted teeth, Kylan scoffed in disbelief at what Jonah had said. However, before he could be stopped, he slipped past Jonah and sprinted towards the bleachers, Jonah realizing what he was doing and running behind him, "Kylan, stop-"

"Tell me who you are," Kylan shouted, causing a scene as a few people began looking over. He raced into the bleachers, a length between him and Jonah, and he stopped in front of Leah, frowning at him as Jacob his underneath her leg, scared by the shouting.

Leah smirked, noticing the distress in Kylan's gaze as Jonah rushed up the steps of the bleachers. However, it was too late, "I'm the love of his life. We are to get married once we're ready. And meet Jacob," she widened her legs and grabbed Jacob from underneath his armpits, "Jacob Minty, Jonah's son."
