The Fox and The Wolf

Chapter 33: Better get use to it

Avery

“So.” I smirked walking over to Scott who was sitting at the kitchen island. “You off the hook?”

He looked up and gave me a playful glare. “Ya. The icecream really did it.”

“Told ya.” I laughed.

A second later, Ashe came trudging down the stairs.

“Someone looks grumpy.” Scott teased.

Ashe gave him a death glare. “Oh freaking bite me.”

“What made you so mad this morning?” I asked laughing.

“David.” She growled.

“Oh great. What did he do?”

“He woke me up at 5 in the damn morning!” She yelled making some toast.

“Why?” Scott asked.

“To tell me he was leaving to go on border patrol.” Ashe said.

“Well what did you do?”

“I pushed him off the bed and said bye.”

I stared at her while Scott was laughing.

“Why did you do that?” I asked starting to laugh.

“He woke me up early. And I’m not a pleasant person in the morning if I get woken up early.” Ashe defended.

“She’s right.” I heard someone say while yawning.

“Wow. Thanks for the support dad.” Ashe laughed.

I just thought of something.

“Shouldn’t you guys be on border patrol since you are apart of the pack now?” I asked pointing at Carlos and Scott. They would have to be since they are of age.

They nodded. “We are on later tonight.” Cards answered.

“I don’t think Jake trusts me yet.” Scott said out of the blue looking down at his hands.

I smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder. “He will. I’ll make sure of it. And if he has a problem, he can write it down on a piece of paper and shove it up his ass.” I smiled sweetly.

“Whose ass is getting kicked? Liam’s?” Tony asked with a little more hope than it should have sounded.

We turned to see Lilly, Katie, and Tony walking form the stairs.

Lilt turned around and smacked his arm. “No cussing.” She scowled.

Tony frowned and rubbed his arm. “Sorry.”

“And why are you always so mean to him?”

Tony scowled but didn’t say anything.

Lilly rolled her eyes and came over to me and gave me a hug.

“Hey Avery?” Lilly asked innocently.

“What do you want?” I laughed as I hugged her back.

“Can we go to the park today?”

“Please?” Katie pleaded.

“Please?” Ashe asked batting her eyelashes at me.

“Since when were you six?” I asked laughing at her.

“Since now. So please?”

“I’d have to ask my mom.”

“Fine by me.” My mom said as she walked over to Scott. Stacy rolled her eyes and laughed.

He instantly smiled and pulled her into him, making her sit on his lap.

“That was a quick answer.”

“Stacy, Scott, and I are getting stuff for the celebration tomorrow.” She said smiling as Scott kissed her cheek.

I made a gag noise.

“It’s a tradition. Every time someone finds their mate, we have a celebration.” Stacy said.

“Okay. And have fun shopping with my mom.” I said towards Scott. He gave me a questioning look. “You’ll see.” I laughed while my mom glared at me.

“I’m not that bad.” My mom huffed. “Right Lilly?”

“Uh…” Lilly said looking around. “Well we better get to the park. Love you mom!” Lilly yelled running out the door.

“Some daughter she is.” My mom laughed.

“We better go or else Lilly will get upset.” I said while Ashe nodded. “You coming Tony?”

“Duh.” He said getting down from his chair.

I stuck my tongue or at him.

“I’ll go. I want to spend some time with my daughter.” Carlos said. “And her mate won’t be there.”

Understandable. He did miss a week with her. And I rolled my eyes at the last part. He is such a dad.

We hopped in some random car and Carlos drove, while Ashe was in the passenger seat and Lilly, Katie, Tony, and I were in the backseat.

It was cute because Tony picked Lilly up and set her on his lap.

It was so adorable.

And Tony is enjoying it because Lilly is blushing hardcore. And Katie is trying so hard not to laugh.

“I’m hungry.” Tony whined. We have been in the car for 20 minutes and Tony hadn’t stopped complaining.

“Okay okay.” Carlos mumbled. “There is a McDonald’s about 2 minutes away.”

“Yes!”

“You’re gonna get fat if you keep eating like this.” Lilly scowled from his lap.

Tony waved her off. “I’m a wolf remember. And besides, I have muscle. I’ll be fine.” He winked and flexed his arms.

I have to admit. For a 9 year old, he does have muscle.

Lilly rolled her eyes and looked at Katie. “What muscle?”

Lilly and Katie busted out laughing while Tony frowned and crossed his arms.

“Better get use to it if you want to date her.” I whispered to him.

“Thanks for the warning.” He said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around Lilly making her blush again.

Oh wow…

“All better now?” Carlos teased.

Tony stopped eating his big Mac and nodded. “Never better.”

Lilly and Katie cringed. “Don’t talk with your mouth full.”

Tony opened his mouth and showed Katie his chewed up food.

“Ew!” She squealed throwing a chicken nugget at him while we all laughed.

I love spending time with these guys. They were my new family. I wouldn’t trade these guys for anything.

Mystery pov

I sat back and watched her laugh with her friends.

Ever since I saw her that one day, I always thought about how I know her. She seems so familiar. I can’t put my finger on it.

Her hair and her eyes. They just look so….familiar.

I was here with my friends and I almost shot out of my seat when I saw her.

I was gonna go up and talk to her, but then she walked in with friends, so I decided to sit back and observe.

“Can we go to the park now?” The little girl asked. She looked just like her. Except she had green eyes instead is blue.

“Sure.” She answered with a smile.

I watched as everyone threw their away and left.

“Are we going to go to this meeting now?” My friend Parker asked.

I shook my head. “I’ll be there in a minute. I have to do something real quick. Take notes for me.” I commanded.

Parker nodded. “Sure thing.”

I got up and walked to my car. I’m gonna find it who she is and why she seems so familiar.
