The Fox and The Wolf

Chapter 32: Awkward town

Recap

“Avery?” My mom asked coming into the room and let out a sigh of relief when she saw me. “Thank the Lord you are okay.”

“Mate!” Scott growled from beside me.

“Wait what?” My mom asked with wide eyes.

Avery

Scott ran up to my mom. “Hey.” He smiled.

My mom gasped and took a step back and Scott’s face fell.

“Uh. Uh.” My mom said backing up and taking me with her.

“Mom. It’s okay.” I laughed.

“But. But. He’s a rogue! And how am I his mate? I’m human?! I think this is a mistake.” My mom rambled.

I’m pretty sure you could literally hear Scott’s heart break. “Oh.” Scott said looking away. “Okay. Sorry for waiting your time.” He mumbled as he sat down on the couch.

I glared at my mother. “Catherine Casey Williams!” I screamed at her.

She flinched and looked at me with huge eyes. “Did you just use my full name?”

“Yes I did. I need to speak with you upstairs.”

“Now?”

“Yes now.” I said grabbing her hand and dragging her upstairs.

I dragged her into my room and shut the down. I turned around to face her and I crossed my arms over my chest. I was tapping my foot waiting for her to talk.

“Mother. Can you explain to me why you did that?” I asked pissed.

My mom looked at me confused. “What are you talking about?”

“Mom. You just rejected him.”

“I did?” She asked honestly confused.

I nodded frantically. “Yes!”

“I didn’t know.” She defended.

“Mom. You’re killing him.” I said sadly.

She looked shocked. “I am?”

“Yes mom!” I groaned and sat on my bed. “Mom. You rejecting him, is slowly killing him. Werewolves only have one mate in their entire life. And you are him mate mom.”

She looked heartbroken. “What do I do?”

I smiled and stood up and walked to her. “You go down there and say you accept him.”

“But…” She trailed off looking down.

I was confused. Why is she so scared? Wait…

“Mom?” I asked.

“Hmm?” She hummed looking up at me with tears brimming her eyes.

“Are you scared that Scott will turn out like dad?” I asked slowly.

She looked me in the eye, and she let her tears flow. “Yes.”

I gave her a small smile and pulled her in for a hug. “Mom. Scott will NOT turn out like dad. Scott is a nice guy. And he didn’t even want to be a rogue. He had no choice. And once a werewolf finds their mate, they are the happiest person alive. They will never hurt their mate mom. And besides. He saved my life.”

My mom’s head perked up. “He saved your life?”

I nodded laughing. “Yes he did.”

She suddenly pushed me away from her and ran down the stairs.

I ran after her and once she went down the stairs, she lunged for Scott.

He was too busy looking out the window and didn’t detect my mom running towards him.

She ran too him and he turned around just in time to catch her in his arms.

“Woah. Are you okay mate?” Scott asked worried.

She let out a sob and wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close.

“Thank you Scott.” My mom said.

“For what?” He asked looking at me.

“For saving my Avery.” She said.

Scott smiled and pulled my mom closer. “Of course. She saved me.”

My mom looked at him and kissed him on the cheek. “Thank you.” She said before hugging him again.

“Oh.” Scott said shocked that she hugged him again. “Uh you’re welcome mate.”

My mom let out a giggle. “My name isn’t mate you know.”

Scott blushed and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “Well. I-I don’t know your name. S-sorry.”

“Oh.” My mom laughed and that caused Scott’s face to turn bright red. “My name is Catherine.”

“Catherine.” Scott said. “I like it.”

My mouth fell open as I watched my mom blush.

Scott saw this and smirked.

“Oh this is awkward.” Ashe said towards my mom blushing.

“No. We just passed through awkward town. Now we’re in creeperville.” I said. “My mom is blushing.”

“She’s also known as Momma C.” Liam spoke up.

“Momma C?” Scott asked laughing.

My mom turned around and hit Liam upside the head. “Shut up. Don’t embarrass me.”

“Sorry Momma C.” Liam said rubbing his head.

“You should be.” My mom said crossing her arms, glaring at him.

Scott chuckled and wrapped his arms around my mom’s waist.

I stood there shocked as I watched my mom’s face turn 10x more red.

“My mom is blushing!” I yelled laughing.

“Avery!” My mom yelled.

I yelped and ran behind Jake when he came out of the kitchen.

“What did you do?” Jake asked amused.

“My mom is trying to kill me!”

I looked over Jake’s shoulder and saw my mom trying to get out of Scott’s arms.

“Come here you little dork.” My mom said.

I stuck my tongue out at her and she stopped and glared at me.

She started struggling even more and Scott’s grip tightened on her.

“Calm down sweetie.” Scott said.

Uh oh…

My mom froze for a moment before turning around and glaring at him.

“You shouldn’t have said that Scott.” I laughed.

He looked at me confused before looking at my mom and he flinched.

“Did you just tell me calm down?” My mom accused crossing her arms.

“I-I…uh…” Scott stuttered and took a step back.

“Rule number 1 dude. Don’t piss off your mate. It doesn’t end well.” Jake said looking at him.

“Hey sweetie. You look really nice today.” Scott smiled.

“Are you saying I won’t look good any other day?” My mom yelled.

Scott looked like a dear caught in head light.

“Uh….” He started but couldn’t find the words to say.

I laughed. “Her favorite icecream is strawberry and her favorite flowers are violets.”

Scott turned to me and smiled gratefully. “Thank you so much Avery.” He said running out the door with John.

My mom turned around and smiled.

“You did that on purpose. Didn’t you?” I asked smiling.

My mom shrugged. “So. I got free icecream and flowers out of it.”

“I’m so proud to call you my mom.”

“Oh I know.” She smiled and hugged me.
