“Alright, everyone to your places! Let’s let them know we’ve arrived so we can start the procession!” David began organizing his assistants, who began inviting guests to take their seats and get everything ready for the signal to start.
“Sir, here’s the basket,” one of the assistants arrived, running with a basket full of rose petals.
“Thanks,” David said, taking the basket. “James, sweetheart, look what they’ve brought for you.”
James excitedly reached for the basket, eager to grab the petals.
“Hehe, James is the cutest flower boy,” Samantha said, giving him a kiss on his cheek, leaving a mark from her lipstick.
“Ah… haha,” James was thrilled by the affection and his new toy, tossing the petals into the air.
“Hold on, sweetie, it’s not time to throw them yet.” Deborah said, approaching to stop her little one. “Wait a moment, and then you can throw them.”
“Haha.”
“It looks like ha
eager to do it,” Christian joked.
“Hehe, James makes his own rules,” Caroline said.
“Alright, godparents, come on. You’ll go in first, and call Elliot so he’s here too,” David said as he continued to get everyone into position.
“Mrs. Samantha, this way please,” another assistant helped the older woman get into the lineup.
While father and daughter stayed at the end of the line, waiting for the music to start, Nicholas spoke softly.
“By the way, daughter, just for today, I made an exception,” he said,
“Huh? What do you mean?” she asked, confused, as she looked at him and noticed he was wearing the locket, causing her eyes to well up with tears. “Dad…”
“I think they should make sure that you’re marrying the right person who will make you very happy. I know they would have wanted to be here to be with you on this big day.”
“Yes…” Deborah tried to hold back her tears while smiling.
Fortunately, an assistant was nearby and quickly came over to help her, preventing her makeup from running from the tears.
With the small emotional hiccup sorted, the ceremony began.
Caroline, Christian, and Elliot entered first as the godparents.
Behind them followed Samantha with a smiling James who was happily tossing petals on the ground while laughing.
Seeing this made Jayden smile, and as he got closer, he reached out to pick up his cheerful son.

Then, the wedding march started, and Jayden felt his breath catch in his throat as he saw his beautiful wife walking down the aisle in her wedding dress.
“It looks like the surprise was worth it,” Christian whispered, observing the blonde’s reaction.
“Hehe, that’s why we told him to wait,” Samantha said, taking a photo of her son, feeling deeply moved seeing him with the woman who would make him very happy.
Deborah and Nicholas walked slowly down the aisle towards the altar.
James waved his hands as he saw his mom.
“Debbie…” Jayden reached out to take her hand, but Nicholas blocked the contact.
“Kid, you’ve proven yourself worthy of being my daughter’s happiness, and that’s why we are entrusting you with our little girl, to continue caring for and loving her as you’re doing now.”
Jayden looked at his father–in–law, puzzled by the use of “we,” but then noticed the locket around his neck, which made him become slightly serious. “I swear that I will always take care of Deborah’s safety and happiness, as well as James’s and any future children we may have,” he declared firmly, meeting the older man’s gaze.
“Hm… you better keep that promise,” Nicholas said with a smile as he carefully handed his daughter’s hand to Jayden. “Now, come with Grandpa,” he said, taking James, who went along willingly.
The couple smiled at each other at that moment.
Most of the guests were a bit confused by what they had just heard, but only those who knew them well understood why Nicholas had spoken that way.
James saw the locket on his grandfather’s chest and reached out to touch it, smiling as he saw the lady from the special garden standing next to him, watching the bride and groom.
“You have our blessing, Jayden. Take care of my daughter and grandchildren as you have until now.”
