The Demon Lord's Lover

Chapter 5

I woke up in a comfortable bed staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. I sat up and started checking myself to make sure I was still fully clothed. Bra, panty, shirt, and pants.

“If I did something to you, you probably wouldn’t be able to sit up that fast.” Dante walked into the room and his eyes darkened at whatever he was thinking. I felt my stomach to a summersault.

He just oozes sexiness huh. Dante handed me a glass of water. “How are you feeling? You gave me quite the scare.” I took the glass and chugged the water. “I am feeling better, Did I pass out? And where am I?”

I started shooting questions. He leaned over and whispered in my ear as he took the glass. “You are in my bedroom.” He pulled back and grinned at me. I gasped and hopped out the bed. “Oh, I am so sorry I didn’t m-mean to. Wait, you put me here. So, what happens now?”

I asked. Dante scratched the back of his head and shrugged. “You don’t want to move in with me. I tried to woo you without having to scare you into staying but the ball is in your court now.” He headed for the door, stopping briefly.

“There is food if you are hungry. We can figure out what to do after you have had something to eat.” I nod and follow him into the kitchen/dining room. The display of food was ridiculous, there was steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread, fried chicken, grilled chicken, baked chicken, etc.

“I didn’t know what you liked so I got a bit of everything,” Dante said shyly. I ended up going with the steak, green beans, and mashed potatoes.

Once we have had our fill of food, we went back to the living room and sat opposite each other. “Did you want something to drink? I have some wine if you like.” I nod.

“Red or white?” I bite my lip thinking for a moment. “I’ll have the red please.” He left for a moment and came back with a chilled bottle and two glasses. He poured my drink.

“You have to stay here, now that I have you in my sights it won’t sit well with me if I send you home knowing I can protect you here.” I take a few sips of my wine before responding.

“Exactly who is after me and why all of a sudden I am in imminent danger?” He sat next to me. His face was serious. “A man by the name of Draco. He is the definition of evil and plans to use you to get stronger. If he gets his hands on you it will not be good. My job is to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

I finish my glass and look at him. “I thought you were a CEO of your own company, why are you talking like you are some sort of bodyguard?” Dante poured me another glass.

“I am, but this is a one-time thing. I don’t even like involving myself in these kinds of situations.” I turn to face him. “Why, why are you doing this for me then? What is so special about me?” I down my drink in about 3 gulps.

“I told you already you’re unique; I just had to have you. Plus, there is something about you that intrigues me. I’m not sure if it’s your eyes or your lips, but I am drawn to you in an almost annoying way.” He gently caresses my face and moves closer; I could feel his breath on my cheek.

“Y-You’re too close Dante.” I start to stutter my heart starts pounding in my chest. “What’s wrong with that, Miss Naila?” He inches closer. “I-I have to take a shower!”

I jump up from the couch and back away only to see Dante hunched over laughing. “What is so funny?” I bite my lip in frustration. Dante stands and reaches out gently, he pries my lip from in between my teeth.

He gently rubs it then pulls away. “You’re so fun to tease.” His eyes darken as he pins me with his gaze. “But if you bite your lip like that one more time, I won’t be able to stop myself from kissing you.”
