Chapter Epilogue
The big doors opened loudly, though not without grace.
In the doorway stood the four prophesized ones. Each adorned in clothes that symbolize their strengths. Octavia wore a green gown with lotus flowers embroidered on it. Aria, who much to her displeasure, wore a red gown with a dragon embroidered on it. Eddie wore a white tunic with a phoenix embroidered on it. And finally, Alex wore a blue tunic with a sword embroidered on it.
In between the two girls and the two boys stood Omdrus, as proud as ever. The honored warriors held their swords up in an arch for them to walk under.
They made their way under the aisle of swords, walking at a graceful pace. They all looked around the throne room. At their people, in awe. They’d never seen anything so regal in their lives.
They stopped at the base of the four thrones, each were given a moment to study their seats. Alex’s had a sword in a stone carved into it. Eddie’s had a phoenix carved into his. Octavia’s had a cordial carved into hers. And Aria’s had an axe on hers.
When the quartet ascended the steps, each stood before their thornes. Omdrus stood before them. Funea, the blonde haired satyr with flowers in her hair came up the steps with Plume following her. The badger carried the crowns.
Each royal was nervous, though that was to be expected.
“To the West, I give you Queen Aria, The Strong.” Omdrus announced. She bent her knee for the satyr to put the black crown decorated intracately with rubies on her head. She stood straight again. Funea offered her a smile before bowing to her.
“Long live Queen Aria!” the crowd chanted. It was quite the experience. Though it was humbling.
“To the East, I give you King Alexander, The Honorable.”
Funea then approached Alex. He bent down for her to put the crown on his head as well. It was nearly the same as Aria’s in color and gems. But it had a different design. He stood straight as well. And Funea bowed to him.
“Long live King Alexander!”
“To the South, I give you High Queen Octavia, The Brave.”
They were given crowns made of bronze and gold. With obsidian jewels as well as ruby and diamond. Funea bowed to Octavia like she did all the others, though Octavia didn’t need to lower herself for the crown to be put upon her head.
“Long live Queen Octavia!”
“To the North, I give you High King Edward, The Great.”
He had nearly the same crown as Octavia. And like Octavia, he needn’t bend for the crown to be set upon him either.
“Long live King Edward!” the crowd chanted. Then, they all sat upon their thrones which despite being made of stone, was quite comfortable.
Omdrus turned to them, bowing as the entire crowd did. And then he stood again, before all the others. “And may your reign be long and plentiful.”
