“Are you the young master of the Melendez family from Windy Hill?” Alan asked.
“Yes.” Leslie nodded honestly.
At that moment, Alan was shocked!
If Joshua was really his father, then Leslie would be his cousin.
If Joshua had not abandoned his mother back then, now he and Leslie would both be living a life of luxury as young masters of the Melendez family.
Although Alan hated Joshua, he did not hate Leslie.
When Alan was surprised. Leslie also looked at Alan with surprise because Alan not only looked a bit like Leslie but also like someone else.

“Are you talking about your uncle, Joshua Melendez?” Alan spoke frankly.

“Alan, you look more like Uncle Joshua than I do. Is my uncle your father? Then we’re cousins!“, Leslie’s pale checks flushed with excitement.
Alan was totally a young version of Joshua!

If Leslie’s uncle could become Clara and Alan’s father, then there would be someone to support Christy, and no one would be able to bully Christy anymore!
Clara’s mind was full of beautiful fantasies.

Alan had met Joshua a long time ago.
Joshua’s greatest advantage was just money, thinking that he could do anything with money. That man was arrogant and thought highly of himself.
Alan didn’t have a good impression of Joshua.
Leslie didn’t know that the two siblings had different thoughts.
When Leslie heard that Alan didn’t have a father, Leslie sympathized and said, “My father also died, so I only have my mother too. Our experiences are so similar!”
Seeing Leslie’s sad expression, Alan patted Leslie’s shoulder and comforted Leslie, “It’s okay not to have a father. You still have your mother, and you are her anchor! Leslie, you are a man. Work hard and protect your mother!”
Leslie lowered his eyes and said sorrowfully. “Thank you for comforting me. I have been trying hard, but I am too stupid and can never satisfy my mother.”
Leslie looked up once again, brushing away his unpleasant expression and replacing it with a bright smile. “Let’s not talk about unhappy things anymore,” he said, “If it weren’t for you saving me today, I could have been hurt. We share similar backgrounds and appearances. Let’s become best friends!”
His eyes were clear and pure.
The young master of a wealthy family had not been tainted by money’s vulgarity at all. On his weak body, there was a pitying temperament that made Alan unable to ignore.

Alan clearly didn’t want anything to do with the Melendez family, but looking at Leslie’s sincere and hopeful eyes, Alan felt a little soft–hearted.
“Okay! Since you’re so sincere, I’ll be your best friend. But I solemnly declare that I’m willing to be your best friend not because you’re from the Melendez family or because of your uncle Joshua. It’s only because you’re Leslie,” Alan said solemnly.
Alan had so many rules! But he was willing to be Leslie’s best friend, and it was good enough.
“I see! My best friend, Alan.” Leslie smiled happily.
“Alan. Leslie, why don’t you count me in? I’m so mad at you! I want to be Leslie’s big sister!” Clara pouted and pulled on Alan’s clothes.
Alan wanted to tell Clara that it was about a promise between boys.
However, Leslie seemed to be particularly fond of Clara, and Leslie readily agreed. “Sure, Clara. You’ll be my big sister! We three will be best friends. I’m so glad to have you!”
“Leslie, you’re so good! As your friend, I’ll look after you!” Clara smiled and patted Leslie’s head.
Clara was the youngest in her family and had always been under Alan’s control. If she could be upgraded to be a big sister, she could show off her power as a big sister in the future. It would he really great.
“OK. Now, I pronounce us best friends. We’re now families!” Clara chattered and danced around.
“Mm!” Leslic obediently nodded his head, thinking that Clara sounded really smart!
Alan was speechless.
Leslie and Clara were treating it like a game.
Yet Alan was serious about the promise. He was a man of his word.
Leslie would be his lifelong friend.
Since Leslie now was Alan’s best friend, Alan would take care of Leslie and not allow anyone to bully Leslie.
Thinking of Leslie being bullied by their classmates in kindergarten despite being a young master of the Melendez family, Alan felt it was unacceptable!
So Alan said, “Leslie, your uncle is a powerful man in the country. As long as you reveal your identity, who would dare to bully you?”
Leslie calmly said, “Yes, my uncle is powerful, but his power has nothing to do with me. I have to be powerful myself.” “Very good! I know we will think the same! You are a real man!” Alan laughed heartily after hearing that.
Alan suddenly realized that there was a strong heart hidden within Leslie’s weak body.
Alan couldn’t help but look at Leslie with newfound respect.
“If you don’t want to rely on your uncle, then you have to strive for self–improvement! Exercise is an effective way to improve yourself. Why do you always sit here and not play with everyone?” Alan asked.
Looking at Leslie’s pale complexion, Alan could tell Leslie was not a strong person.
Was it the result of a lack of physical exercise for a long time? Alan felt Leslie was like a hothouse flower since Leslie was the young master of the Melendez family!
Leslie’s eyes flashed with a fleeting sadness. He said, “My heart has always been weak since birth. Doctors and my mommy both
say that I cannot engage in intense physical activities in order to live longer. If I had a healthy heart, I would also love to run under the sun like you.”
