Chapter Luther Rico Valleje
Luther Rico Valleje
I was driving my car on my way to Cyron's house.
I took deep breaths because of what happened earlier. Thaliana's accident shouldn't be taken lightly, even if she only suffered minor injuries. It could happen again if she doesn't take care of herself, and that's what worries her parents. It's a good thing that I immediately followed her when I learned from her father that she went to Cyron's house again to seek his forgiveness.
I told her to refrain from trying for a while, to give it a few days, but she's stubborn. She loves Cyron so much that she doesn't want a day to go by without seeing him and attempting to earn his forgiveness.
And it hurts me because I like her.
I like Thaliana.
I sighed as I remembered our first meeting. She was trying so hard to deny herself. She was so cute.
I started liking her since then. I didn't expect to develop feelings for her even though I knew she already loved Cyron.
"And here I am now, helping her so that Cyron can forgive her."
Before I left their mansion earlier, Thaliana's father talked to me.
George Dela Vezca already knew about what his daughter did to Cyron. He also requested me to watch over her. He said he understands Cyron's anger, but this is beyond what he imagined.
Even I didn't know it would escalate to the point of Thaliana having an accident.
I don't understand why Cyron is acting this way when it's so obvious that he still loves Thaliana. Even I can feel the anger.
I know, and my brother's eyes clearly show it, he still loves her. Yes, he's angry; Thaliana betrayed him. His feelings are valid. I thought he could understand her after she explained everything, but no... and right now, Cyron is making things worse with the Dela Vezca's after Thaliana's accident.
I tightened my grip on the steering wheel as I recalled Thaliana's emotional state at the hospital earlier. She was crying so hard in front of me while explaining what happened at Cyron's house.
"He was with Klari, Luther... I saw them. She's taking care of Rozzean, and Rozzean was letting her. Do you think he still loves me? Maybe not anymore? Maybe he lost his love because I wasn't really the one he liked, but T-Tali."
Tali or Thaliana, it's the same person. She's still the same. And I don't believe that Cyron no longer loves her.
I clenched my hands as I entered my brother's house. As soon as I left the Dela Vezca's mansion, I drove fast to Tagaytay to talk to Cyron. He needs to wake up to what he's doing.
Thaliana has been hurt multiple times. She regrets what she did, and I saw how she tried to explain everything and make things right. I understand that Cyron has the right to be angry, but this is too much. He still loves her, so why is he acting like an asshole?
I know my place. I know where I should stand because they both love each other. But I'm hurting so much seeing Thaliana like this. If it's true that Cyron's love is lost, then I will take action. I'm here supporting Thaliana, but after witnessing everything in the past days, especially now, I can't stay silent anymore.
"I... I said that I will stop. I said I won't force myself on him anymore. It hurts, Luther. I'm doing everything I can to be forgiven by Rozzean, but it seems like he doesn't want to anymore. And then Klari is there."
I couldn't stand seeing Thaliana cry again. It hurts me. I had no way to ease her feelings.
"Sir Luther..."
As Manang opened the door for me, I immediately entered. My eyes searched for Cyron.
"Is Sir Rozzean the one you need?" Manang asked.
"Yes, Manang, where is he?"
"He's in the guest room, sir."
I thanked Manang and quickly headed to the guest room. As soon as I entered, my stomach churned at the sight of Cyron and Klari eating together.

I suddenly remembered Thaliana's crying face, how she told me what she saw here earlier.
"H-He was with Klari... h-he ate the food she cooked while mine was thrown in the garbage. He was so angry with me, Luther. I lost hope that he would forgive me. I just told him not to neglect himself and that I won't bother him anymore. But it hurts. It hurts that Klari was immediately there, am I that easily replaceable, Luther? I love Rozzean so much."
When their eyes landed on me, Cyron lowered the utensils. He stood, no longer using the cane. He slowly approached me, his eyes fixed on mine. I couldn't contain the anger I felt while looking at him now.
When I saw him here with Klari, I suddenly doubted if it was true that he still loved Thaliana.
Damn it. This is not him. This is not the Cyron I know.
I found it hard to believe that his love was gone, considering what I witnessed and heard him say.
He kneeled in front of our parents. He talked to George Dela Vezca. He wasn't afraid to lose everything, even the company he worked hard for, because of his love for Tali.
Even if Thaliana fooled him, she's still Tali. The Tali he loves so much. I didn't believe before that Cyron would forgive her until I saw him now with this woman. "What are you doing here, Luther?"
Instead of answering his question, I punched him. He fell to the floor.
Klari shouted. My eyes were full of anger as I looked at Cyron on the floor, gradually getting up with Klari's help.
"Luther, what are you doing?! Can't you see that Rozzean is still recovering?!" Klari shouted at me.
"I don't f*cking care!" I shouted back.
Thaliana regrets what she did. I saw that she's trying her best. She was injured and got into an accident because my brother here is being an asshole.

"Why are you so mad, Luther?" Cyron asked me, wiping the blood from his lip.
This is the first time I hurt him after our previous argument years ago because of the housemaid near him that Daddy fired. After several years, I'm hurting him now, and I'm not doing it for myself.
I'm doing this for the woman I care about, the woman who's already hurting too much.
"Thaliana came here, right? She came here and tried to talk to you again. She tried to seek your forgiveness, but what did you do, Cyron? What did you fckng do?"
Instead of Cyron answering, Klari spoke up.
"Thaliana? You mean that b*tch earlier? That Tali? Rozzean didn't do anything to her, Luther! He didn't even acknowledge her when she left the house earlier! And why are you so angrily against your brother? Shouldn't you be on Rozzean's side?"
"I heard from Manang that b*tch is the maid who used to work here. She fooled Rozzean, and you're defending her right now? She's the one at fault for Rozz's accident because she went looking for him! You should be siding with your brother, Luther!"
I turned sharply towards Klari upon hearing her words.
"Don't f*cking call her that, Klari. I am warning you," I said.
"You don't know anything about what's happening. Also, I am not talking to you. I am talking to my brother."
I know that this woman has liked Cyron for a very long time, but my brother doesn't have any interest in her. Until now, it seems she's still here trying to get my brother's attention.
"She came here, then left right away. What's your problem, Luther?" Cyron asked me.
He has a blank expression on his face. I got even angrier because it seems like he doesn't care who we're talking about right now.
I approached him and knelt down. My eyes were filled with anger as I looked at him. I don't care right now if I will ruin our good relationship, but he needs to wake up. He's becoming blinded by his anger.
"She got f*cking hurt. Thaliana got into an accident after she left your house, Cyron," I said in a stern voice.
